Michel and Swamp Dog find the crossroads of their pasts and futures in an other-present realmThe Magic Swamp. Hurricane Katrina couldn't rip more from them than had already been taken, but it did shift their futures in line with one another. Each one faces the need to grow in an acceptance of their individual pasts, in order for both of them to survive.

J.T. Alexandry writes with such a distinct style and depth in her tale that I found myself often reminded of Madeleine L'Engle. My
