Spoiled rotten, entitled and sexy as hell. Melinda Morgan, worlds top supermodel, was not the job I saw coming. I’d turn it down if I had a choice, but I don’t. Repaying a debt has me in New York City, to solve why America's Sweetheart, went for a run in Central Park, in the middle of the night, "to clear her head." She definitely had a reason, and that reason is hiding underneath the beating she took. I have every intention of exposing the truth, no matter the cost, even if it costs me my heart. ***Exposed is the third book in the Dare to Dream Series which are all stand alone contemporary romance novels following a different couple with absolute HEA. Contains mature language and content and is intended for audiences 18+***
‘Melinda Morgan, one of America’s top models, can’t keep a man to save her life.’
Florida author Jennifer Kittredge is a quality Chick Lit author. She has published three novels to date – and the three form a series she has titled DARE TO DREAM. The unifying element in her series is the examination of couples and how they manipulate their relationships. WANTED, ARRANGED and now EXPOSED – each presented with an alpha male hunk on the cover.
The story is paced well with a very real presence of contemporary paraphernalia like the social media and other au courant factors that make the reader feel involved. This is a fine romance, heavily infused with raw language and very steamy erotica – the calling card for successful Chick Lit novels. Told in a she said/he said manner, the love affair blossoms well until the intrigue alters the flow. A model (Melinda) and a Private Investigator (Mason) experience the highs and lows of a threatened affair and Jennifer pulls it off well.
Referring to the plot echoes the manner in which this story is related: ‘Melinda - My reputation is everything to me. I’ve spent years building it. It’s all I have, all I know. And now, after one night of bad judgment, I’m on the brink of losing everything. The reputation I have so carefully built has been threatened and I will do anything to keep it in tact. I can’t risk the exposure, it would ruin my life, but how long can I continue to meet my blackmailers demands? Mason - Central Park in the middle of the night is no place for anyone, especially one of the world’s top supermodels. She says she was going for run, but those black eyes, bruised ribs and hospital stay, say different. I’ve been in this line of work far too long to know when a woman’s lying, and this woman is definitely hiding something. I plan to find out exactly what that is. She can hate me all she wants, I’ve been hired to do a job and I intend to see it through. Smart mouthed, stubborn and sassy as hell, she’s becoming more of a distraction than I need. Nothing good can come of this, right?’
A propulsive love affair heavily accented with vulgarity and highly explicit erotic scenes is related with a fine whodunit side story, making this a fast, fun read.
I loved the storyline and chemistry between the characters.
I love a great romance that has some mystery and suspense to it. While it was pretty easy to predict who was Melindas attacker the storyline was still fantastic and well put together. I loved the chemistry between Melinda and Mason and the sex scenes between them were steamy and well written. With many romances the storyline is lost in the sex or trying to create chemistry between the characters, but with this story it builds naturally and smoothly. Their relationship melds together naturally and doesn’t seem like the author is trying to hard to make a connection. There are some errors that bugged me the main female characters name was switched to Miranda a couple times which some good editing should have caught. But other than that, I enjoyed the book. It was a great read to distract me during a cold afternoon of being stuck inside. The author also offers another chapter of Mason and Melindas story that I got.
Jennifer Kittredge brings romance and crime to a new level with Exposed. This being the third in her Dare to Dream series you will see Sam and Ryan again as they seek to aid Melinda. Sam being her friend and Ryan being her brother, they search out the best Private Investigator to unravel the trouble she finds herself in. Mason was a successful attorney but found he could assist battered women best by allowing them a way out of harmful relationships, which he takes personally.
I found Exposed enticing as the sparks fly between Melinda and Mason. Jennifer Kittredge mastered the illusion of one character being the blackmailer when the true villain is undetected. Mason and Melinda's relationship becomes a whirlwind as he protects her from an unknown assailant and herself. Mason isn't idle when tracking down lies, suspects, and investigating the spark between them. Melinda is passionate about protecting her reputation and Mason, but not necessarily in that order. If you like it hot, you'll enough this author.
Exposed (Dare to Dream Book 3) by Jennifer Kittredge fits the bill when you want to read a good mix up of erotic with a touch of romance and complicated lives. Told in alternating points of view, one being Melinda the model, and Mason the PI, you get a good feel for the characters and their lives. The author does a great job of introducing these characters, goes into their pasts quite a bit, and you quickly feel that you know them pretty well as the story progresses. The action takes place in Tampa, with many recognizable places for Florida residents, and certainly sets a gritty tone with the seedy part of the city. Filled with tantalizing sex scenes, the chemistry between the two main characters is palpable and real. You feel the intensity of their emotions and connection which makes for a great story. Overall a fun and breezy read, with touches of romance and mystery. Strong recommendation.
Exposed is book three in the Dare to Dream series by author Jennifer Kittredge. They are each a true stand alone romance so they can be read in any order. I started here, with the story of Melinda and Mason. Melinda is an uber-famous supermodel and Mason is the brooding private investigator hired to find out who is out to get her. They've both got secrets and there are hints of shady in their backgrounds so you wonder how real any relationship could be that might develop between these two. All in all, if you're in the mood for a sexy read, Exposed fits the bill. There's a lot of graphic sex though, so if you prefer the cut to the next morning over all the gory details, you may not be comfortable with this. Profanity is also generously spread throughout, which I happen to appreciate, but again, if it's not your thing...
I love romance books; I’m a sucker for any love story that gives me a happily ever after for the main characters. Spoiler Alert: This novel follows that golden formula with the added bonus of a little mystery. (I will admit that I guessed the “bad guy” pretty early on but there were parts as the novel went on that had me guessing if I was right.) Melinda was a strong female lead in the beginning but it made sense she was a bit weaker after her attack. Mason lost a few cool points in my book because of his job position when he initially got together with Melinda (it felt like an abuse of power after she was abused). Buy by the end, I was rooting for them. I definitely want to read the other stories in the series even if each book is considered a stand alone novel.
Well, I’m a red-blooded female and the cover of this book really did get my pulse racing. However, even though I was distracted for a split second, I managed to focus my attention on the book. Lol! By the way, this book is not advised for anyone under the age of 18, it’s got some bad language and some hot and steamy scenes.
The question throughout the entire book was whether Melinda’s deep dark secret was going to come out or not. I was actually terrified for her, she is a nice girl and didn’t deserve what was happening to her.
I was hooked from the first page and could not put the book down, I read it in one weekend! I haven’t read the first two books yet, but I am going to order them now that I have read this one. If you are a fan of romance and mystery novels, I would highly recommend that you get your hands on this book! It’s a truly fantastic read!
This is a story about a super model who is exceeding successful and well known. As she discovers through the press, her fiance is having an affair and she breaks it off rather quickly and without any thought or regret. Shortly after the breakup Melinda receives a flash drive filled with sexually explicit pictures of her and the ex. The story takes a quick pace and drives through violence, stealth, and erotica to reach a climax that keeps you glued to the pages. This journey will have you trying to figure out who would beat a beautiful supermodel and who is behind the blackmail. The characters are developed and the story is easy to follow and a fun read. I recommend this one to all the romance fans.
