**I was given a free copy of this book for an unbiased opinion and review**

As the debut audio book narrated by Nick Shaner I have to say I think he has a future in audiobooks. He’s able to capture the characters voices and personas like a seasoned narrator. Michaels sling blade like tone is spot on for what I picture for the character.

Now the writing - the beginning of the book feels extremely rushed. For a Stockholm syndrome element book I felt like we see the main character picking up those t

This book kept me turning pages, and the ending was jaw dropping. Easily one of my favorite thrillers this year.

Excellent story. Michael's character was really intriguing and I found his behavior with the main character, Mary, to be delightfully twisted. Though I agree the story could have been longer (I loved reading it and wanted to know more) it was a novella, and those tend to be on the shorter side of things. However, it was wonderfully written and played right into my interests of all things horror, thrillers, and suspense.

Nick Shaner as narrator made the book better.
I like crime drama but this made me feel dirty afterwards. Maybe that was Lana Lindemann’s goal.
Some of the first half of the book seemed a little rough in writing style but the second half flowed better. Lana wasn’t always clear on Mary’s thoughts. Lana did great work detai

Michael has to be in my top 3 creepiest serial killers I've ever read about. The way this book describes him and how he acts with the main character Mary really gets under ur skin and just unnerves you. I also enjoyed Steven and Carl's relationship in the book. ...more

A gripping read. Ms. Lindermann is an excellent and talented storyweaver, engrossing the reader into a tale, entwining you into the perils of the characters as the book moves on to its climactic ending...

I was going to write a review on Amazon for this book but the ridiculous prices they want you to spend for writing reviews is dumb, so I made an account here to comment.
I loved this book and I am not one for thrillers but it was suggested to me by a friend. I was blown away by the concept and the list of characters especially Michael. He creeped me out. I was also shocked by the ending and that alone sold me on the second book. I will be writing abogher review for it to
