When the story ends, you just know the couple walk away with a ‘Happily Ever After’ . . . Donavan Hardy wished that was his fate. Donnie loved Avery Castle with every part of his being. It seemed they were about to have it all. Then his past came knocking, threatening to tear it all down. Avery’s father sowed doubt everywhere he could. Life was slipping through Donavan’s fingers. But nothing would stop him from being the man and father Avery and their children needed him to be. Not even if it meant facing his worst fears and reliving a past he thought was over.   Donnie had always been Avery’s world. They were destined to be together since they were kids. The fire between them could set the world ablaze. But could they truly ever be happy? She spent her whole life being the deaf girl, being told how to live, that was until Donavan claimed her and fueled her passions. She had to decide if it was worth it. The uncertainty, the danger. Was the passion Donavan made Avery feel worth the cost of her sanity? Make Me Stay Two is a second chance contemporary romance about the trials and tribulations of love. In this captivating tale, love, hate and everything in between cast a singular spell. And if Avery and Donavan’s relationship proves anything… it’s that love is louder than anything else.

Loved it !

I love Donovan and Avery relationship love conquers all no matter what. I was happy for the dog also because I don't think DJ could have handled that loss. I would recommend this book. Amaire your writing skills has improved from the first book that I've ever read by you. I can't wait for your next book.

Definitely worth the read

This book was long as hell but was so good; worth the 4 days it took me to finish it. Out of all Amarie's book Donovan and Avery are my favorite couple of course I want to know more like where is sTill and what did the LTG and Hawk day about Hunter' s supposedly suicide but most importantly where is the wedding and what happened after her surgery did junior get the implant

5.0⭐️ I just loved this book that follows Avery and Donavan and picks up where the first book left off. Avery is now pregnant, and she and Donavan are engaged to be married. Donavan is frustrated because he cannot find a job, and refuses to believe he suffers from PTSD. He wants to give Avery all that she desires for their B&B and to simply provide for his family and his ailing father. Avery has made it clear that she doesn't want anything from her father and doesn't want Donavan to work for him either. She is unaware that Avery's father has sought out Donavan and has offered him a job. Donavan is desperate and feels that he has no choice but to work for Avery's father. Although he hates that he must hide things from Avery, it is really necessary--he refuses to lie to Avery or to recount exactly what he does in her father's employ.

Consequently, in this book, we see the mounting pressures that beset the couple and how these vexing difficulties take their toll on them and sorely tax their relationship. Will they succumb to the stress and pressures that assail them or will they forge ahead and begin anew?

The love these two have for each other is so very beautiful. The dialogue, which includes communications between the deaf and the hearing, is fantastic and flows nicely. It was gratifying to learn so much about deafness and the deaf community in this book (and in Book 1 also). There was quite a bit more sexual content in this book, some of which can be described as erotic.

This is a substantive and informative work. Kudos to the author--it is quite apparent that she did an inordinate amount of research in order to make this book so authentic. I don't imagine that either book was easy to write, but Ms. Avant did it with such aplomb. (There were a few editing problems but not to a large extent).

It was fantastic visiting with Avery and Donaven once again. Is there a book 3-please, please, please??!!

AC and Donnie made it through time

They had a connection since early childhood. They loved each other and were forced by Avery's boogie family to separate when Verdrena Castle, Avery's mother did the ultimate betrayal. With Donnie and Donnie Jr back in her life, Avery is trying to honor her gr-grandmother Frannie's dream by refurbishing her old plantation home Beaudelaire into its former glory by making it into a B & B. With Donovan Hardy by her side, she could accomplish this dream. Donnie always loved Avery and would do anything she wanted to make her dreams come true including getting in bed with the devil himself, Alexander Castle, Avery's father. He also had a sick father he needed to care for as well and that was another factor. Both AC and Donovan were grateful to Jessica and Ted Carlson who were responsible for the first seven years of Donovan Jr's life, but there was some animosity there between Jess and Avery that they had to work through.

Amarie wrote a detailed, well researched book on the life of deaf adults and children and the pros and cons of hearing aids and the use of American Sign Language. Avery seemed to resent the fact that her father took so long to learn ASL. She was content with living her life as it was until she gave birth to her daughter and wanted to hear her voice. The icing on the cake was Donovan Jr's desire to hear but a stipulation on that desire Avery had to adhere to first.

The story also dealt with PTSD and mental illness through Hayden "Hunter" Flint's story. He was certifiably mental. I don't understand why he was so mad with Donovan, who took the fall for Hunter in the military. This second book started off a little slow and was boring in spots. The chemistry between Avery and Donovan was very hot and they had sex any and everywhere which to me was a bit of a turn-off. I also hated the fact that Avery decided to change up her dream for Beaudelaire, it did not speak too well about her maturity, even though she was hard on Donovan about his being open and true. Regardless of the disagreements they had, they still loved each other and Donovan's voice was the only voice she wanted to hear for the rest of her life.

The Heart never Lies

Avery and Donovan got engaged when we left off in book 1. Donnie has finally gotten the woman he has been waiting for all his life. But with PTSD donnie is reliving his days in the War.

Avery has loved Donovan since he knocked her down on his first day of school.. She didn't mind it in the least. But Donnie didn't know was Avery was Deaf.

The Romance between these two was hotter then Texas in July.

My only concern was her dad. Mr Castle is a piece of work, but the love for his child I understood. But lord he goes to the Extreme for her when things gets Ruff. The love he has for her is commendable and her would do anything for her, even help the man he feels is unworthy of her affections.

Now The CREEPY Hunter. Where in the HELL did he get the Ideal that Avery was his along with her Kids. This guy was a nutcase in Sheep clothing. How can his Parents Especially his Mother feel he wa doing ok. Geez louise the whole damn family needed help. So glad our Donnie took care of him.

Amarie you had me in tears at the end. The feeling she felt when she got her hearing was truly Outstanding. You wrote a beautiful story about love, and the Journey of two Individuals with two different backgrounds and how the love they had for each other and the obstacles they faced along the way. But managed despite all the Craziness they still managed too keep themselves together..

Amarie Avant is a true artist of the written work. This book was wonderful Journey about the trails and tribulations they went through in life. There passion will draw you in, but the love will keep you there. This is one of my Favorite Author, who books are always Exceptional written. With just her name alone , I know i will always get great reading. This book is told in different pov's, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a hea. I Truly Truly appreciate and highly recommend this book.

Another winner

I had these books I and II and just got around to reading them for the first time (silly me) I loved the relationship between Avery and Donavan their love was epic from the start to love someone so deep and want to connect and give them something you know you’re really not capable of but you give it your best shot despite Avery parents shenanigans uuggh her mom shady self was a surprise I’m thinking the dad was the culprit but he has no chill concerning her either but they rose above it all finally getting their son that they didn’t even know was alive and thriving (thanks ma🤦🏽‍♀️)was blessed with another child but here comes some more shenanigans via Donovan’s past and Avery’s meddling daddy who’s starting to grow on me he’s a hot mess but I like him🤦🏽‍♀️ So Hunter crazy self ,Maxine jealous self but I’m happy she got hers in the end Then Avery giving her son a gift that in turns keeps on giving made my heart sing I’m not being greedy (lies yes I am) we need a third and final book to this series pretty please cause I need to know what happens with Antonio and Carly does Jessica survive and the wedding shenanigans cause we know momma is over the top with her parties and I want to see how many babies are coming down the aisle so just consider it your fan for life DeeDee Bravo Amarie this book had me from hello

"Make Me Stay II" by Amarie Avant

My Thoughts...

This was another good read by this author. I would suggest to fully get a understanding this story I would read the first book 'Make Me Stay' by this author. The two main characters Donavan Hardy and Avery Castle were really something else where they definitely feed off each other...in a good way. It was really interesting seeing how these two were right there for each other and being able to get through all that was presented to them from family, even others that had once been friends and oh yes that creepy Hunter guy. I really enjoyed the part of how the author gave the reader a good story that dealt with hearing. This was beautifully written! By the end of this story we are definitely given a good read about love from two people with different backgrounds who had many hard tribulations along this journey to finally getting to their HEA.

Wow,

This book was very good it was exciting it was loving I love Donovan and Avery story it was so inspiring from the first book to this one the way Donovan came back into her life and they found out that they had a baby and son and all the Betrayal against them at 1st between the mom and the dad but they overcame that with their love and him being the man that he was even though she was deaf he was there for her through anyting any woman would want a man like that, the story have many twists and turns in this story Hunter came out of nowhere while I knew he was in the Army but I didn't know the extent of that Journey in him admitting that he had pee STD and Hunter was a crazy character blaming Donovan for actually saving his life really taking the blame for him but I'll leave the rest of the story to you I definitely hope she comes out with a third book I would love to see how their family plays out especially with Alexander now that she can hear what's going to happen next!

What if I have pushed him too far? What if my dream is not his dream? He left me once before. How will I live without his love? Avery shuffles all these things around in her mind.
What if I can't give her what her father has? Will she still love me if she knows the whole truth? Donnie is almost overwhelmed by the guilt he feels but he can never walk away from his all time love or his children. She heals him in ways he cannot understand.
However, someone is working overtime to take her away from him. Someone from his past thinks he will never be worthy of her love and the children.
Will Avery make a sacrifice to make a dream come true for someone she feels she may have disappointed?
This sequel to "Make Me Stay" will have you page turning to know this love story will end.
Ms. Avant has done it again in giving us passion, intrigue and love throughout the pages..I hope you will enjoy the heat as much as I did..

Good book

This book was good. Not as good as the first but still good. I hope there will be a few more so Donnie and AC's story becomes a series. In this book AC was a bit much. She is spoiled and doesn't care about the things people did to make her life comfortable. In future books I hope she matures more and allows Donnie to be his own man without trying to navigate being his own man and the man AC wants him to be. Donnie has some darkness to him and is more like her father than they realize. I hope in the next books it shows AC accepting Donnie for the man he is and even her showing some appreciation to her father for the life he gave her. Alex is not perfect but he loves his family and AC should appreciate that. Aside from the bratty moments displayed by AC this was a good read and I hope a third book will follow.

MMS II is a home run

I can't believe I almost cried. I am so over joyed with reading this book it was everything that I could imagine it would be from Alexander (Mr. Pope) unable sat meddling. So adorable children and baby. One love dogs strong between AC and darling very literally jumped off the pages.
I'm sure there's gonna be some people who want an ending that includes the wedding or how they get married or whatever happens. To me this is the perfect ending. You already know that they're gonna get married, you already know they're gonna have a happily ever after. What you get with this ending is so much more. You get to experience AC hear for the first time the loving voice of her badass Donnie (choose either). It was amazing so amazing amazingly amazing

Beautiful..

Where do I start?? I love this story so much because of how real the struggles are. Donovan is like any man who wants to take care of his wife, but the economy isn’t kind so getting a “regular” job is hard so he turns to another route. Avery is feisty princess. I love how she doesn’t take crap from anyone and keeps excelling at everything she does. I love how Donnie knows how to put Avery in her place and I love how Avery submits to her man. That ending! Oh my God I just cried it was so beautiful. I don’t want to spoil anything so I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed.

OMFG!!!! I love Donovan and Avery. This love was true and realistic. Everything wasn’t peaches and cream. There were bumps and arguments they both had issues and concerns about what they went through in the past. i loved that Donovan Is a man that wanted to provide for his family no matter what he had to do to get them what they needed and what Avery wanted. I just loved this book.

AMARIE, can really create those psychos. Lol. I am hoping for a MMS III, because only 2 from Donovan’s past were mentioned and addressed their hatred and anger toward him I wonder how the other two really feel. Also the wedding and Carly & Antonio. Really truly enjoyed this book.

Love Louder than Sound

I loved the story of Donovan and Avery. I loved the fact that their love was strong enough to endure all the outside forces trying to interfere or disrupt their relationship.
This story have a good look into the hearing impaired's world. We learned a lot about how their disability is only a challenge and not a detriment.
Avery loved Donovan with such purity, it made the reader look at how we are with our own loved ones.
I was happy to see that Donovan didn't continue to be so caught up in Alexander's world.
Will there be more, because there are other characters I'd like to see more of as well. Great job!

This is one of my favorite series, about one of my favorite couples by one of my favorite authors. Books 1 and 2 are great books about two people loving each other and fighting for that love from day one. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the next book hopefully about Carly and Antonio. I was happy with the conclusion of this book but still want updates on how Donavan, Avery and their children are doing . Like their wedding scene and DJ getting his hearing do they end up with Maggie, etc.

Moved slow

This book dragged on and on for me. I liked the characters...loved Donnie, Avery, and their sweet family but I found myself bored as the story line bounced from Donnie and his insecure feelings, dangerous lifestyle, and odd relationship with his fil to Avery and her stressful relationships with Jess, her mother and father...wanting to hear etc. I could go on and on there was so much clutter that they was not a lot of impact.

🙂🙂🙂

Nice follow up story, I really enjoyed the details on cochlear implant and the deaf community. This could was impressive with their longevity and their history. Things got pretty tense for a bit and the story seemed to drag on a bit but it picked back up.
Though it would be nice to know what happens to the family, I don't think I could go through a lot of drama to find out.

Amazing read

I just loved this book. It was just as good as book one. It had me enthralled from beginning to end. I love Donavan and Avery's love for each other. It's not perfect but they're perfect for each other. Donavan had to deal with alot, his guilt about Tripp and Hunter, PTSD, and the whole Alexander Castle thing. Hunter was just psycho period point blank. I'm glad Carly is finally happy. This was a great book and the ending was priceless.💕💟

Better than the first one

I really enjoyed the realism of this story. It's not all sunshine and rainbows but filled with complex characters. I like that the story is unpredictable.

I also liked the fact that we found out what Alexander really does for a living. I had an idea but not in that level. I was also surprised to find out about actually happened to Donovan when he was in the military. You wanna know what happens? Then read the book!

Greedy

Yes I am greedy because this was so good that I know there is another story to be told....that DNA. Alexander said he had...hmmm I don't trust him or maybe one of his "associates". And there is the pesky PTSD. Alrighty I have you many ideas to think about and now looking forward to the Black Queen Dark Knight II.

Must Read

The best series she has put out and I thought she couldn’t top the ‘Make Me Stay’ book. I will not spoil the ending. Donovan and Avery are childhood sweethearts who went through life shattering events to get together. Can they stay together with evil forces working on the outside? Read it and find out!

Highly impressed with the plot and how carried out. I went thr a range of emotions. Therefore, in my opinion it was an enjoyable book to read for me. I enjoyed the book 1 and book 2. I would like to see a follow up. I was left wanting for a better ending. I wanted to have a feel for how things turned out for the family.

Finally.....

This story gave me a full meal with dessert! I mean it was great. The back story, the details, the amazing chemistry between A.C. and Donnie. Only two things I wished I know more about was Maxine's real problem and was Hunted always crazy? All in all, this was not a quick read like a lot of books these . I loved that it was a "hardy" read.

Not Going Anywhere!!!!!

First of all, I'd like to thank Hunter for taking care of the Maxine debacle. RIP Mad Max! I love all things Amarie! Continuing Donavan and Avery's story is just the right thing to do! Loose ends leave and opening for book three! I loved/hated Alexander(Papa Eli Pope?). Bring on book three!

Donovan and Avery

I really enjoyed reading part 2. Donovan and Avery are so good together. I have to admit sometimes Avery got on my nerves! What about the wedding? Did DJ get the surgery done so he too could hear? And what happened with Antonio and Carly? I hope there’s a MMS 3 coming soon!

Amazing

It was good revisiting the amazing story of Donavon & Avery. There are a few people who didn't get memo that they are meant to be together forever. I enjoyed reading real life issues concerning life after prison & the death community. This was a excellent continuation. Bravo.
