*I voluntarily reviewed this book from Netgalley.

Well, this book certainly packs an emotional punch so I'm warning you now when you sit down with COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS by RaeAnne Thayne make sure you have the tissues close to hand.

For seven years Luke has raised his children alone wondering what really happened to his wife, whether she was gone forever, while some people suspected him of foul play. But thanks to a friend, Luke has found Elizabeth living a brand new li

Yep it’s me again reading another Christmas book! It’s almost October now and the holiday season starts for me November first, so it’s not really that early for me. I realize I’m insane but that’s my logic and it works for me. Anyway, this is the tenth book in the Haven Point series and I’m a longtime fan. Although I didn’t start at the beginning, I think I jumped in at like book four or five because you can easily read these on their own. Each book centers around a different co

I always expect an amazing book from this author, especially during the holidays. This book…it was so much more for me. It grabbed my heart from the very first pages and never let go, even after I finished. I won’t retell the story – you should read it for yourself as Ms. Thayne does a much better job than I ever could – but I can tell you some of the things I loved.

RaeAnne Thayne is an utter genius and this story performed a miracle on my heart. Coming Home for Christmas is Luke & Elizabeth Hamilton’s second chance story and it did something I thought could never happen from a romance story. The author was able to flip my feelings toward Elizabeth 180 degrees from ‘You can’t take her back’ to ‘I’m so glad that they are back together.’ We are first introduced to their story in The Cottages of Silver Beach and A Soldier’s Return, when Elizabeth went miss ...more

I have wanted to read Luke's story for quite a while, after it is 'introduced' in The Cottages on Silver Beach (it's his sister's book, but it was Luke and his missing wife that caught my attention).

This is one of occasions in which I WISHED the (already) novel-length book is slightly longer because I felt that the reunion progress between Luke and Elizabeth was not enough. Elizabeth has been presumed dead for YEARS. But the timeline of this book only happens for several weeks – du

Coming Home for Christmas is the tenth book in RaeAnne Thayne’s Haven Point series, and it’s a great addition to the series. As with each of the books in the series, this one works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. However, if you’ve been reading the series, you’ll get a wee bit more from this one as we finally get answers and an explanation about characters that have intrigued us previously.

One dark night Luke's wife Elizabeth stumbled out of her house lost in the fog of a deep dark depression.  The night was cold and snowy, and she wasn't heard of again. What happened to her? Did she die? Has she chosen another life and family? Luke has always wondered as he has spent the seven intervening years being a wonderful Dad to his daughter Cassie and son Bridger.

When by some miracle she is found and returns to their lives it is with very mixed and varied feelings on all their

This is the tenth book in the Haven Point series, but the first I have read. I had no problems following this delightful story and it works well as a standalone Christmas story.

What would you do if you were afraid that you would hurt your children? If you were so depressed, that nothing seemed worth living for? I can't imagine that, but it doesn't mean that this is not something that happens to women suffering from postpartum depression. Add in a car accident that steals your memorie

Coming Home for Christmas will have even the naysayers believing in second chances. Here, RaeAnne Thayne gifted us with a couple’s heart-wrenching past that led to one of the most convincing, heartwarming Christmas reunion stories I’ve ever read.

If you are looking for a somewhat angsty, Hallmark movie style Christmas romance that also does a great job of highlighting the seriousness of post-partum depression, then Coming Home for Christmas is definitely worth picking up! This is a second-chance romance involving a woman who left her husband and two small children and disappeared for seven years. Now her husband has tracked her down to prove he is innocent of her suspected murder. Why did she leave and where has she been all this time? I ...more

Anticipation over, Luke and Elizabeth’s reunion, although tense and uncertain, was what I have been waiting for in this series. Since most of Haven Point, Idaho, believed Luke murdered Elizabeth, and with the district attorney about to charge him, Luke’s bringing her back was necessary, even though he didn’t want her there. Now he can get divorced, get cleared, and move on with his life and their two children, Cassie, almost 10 and Bridger, almost 8. Missing for seven years, Luke’s friend, FBI a ...more

Each of the books in the Haven Point series can be read as a stand-alone, but when you read it as a series, you can truly connect with the characters. Coming Home for Christmas is Book #10 in this series and we finally get to find out what happened to Elizabeth Hamilton, Luke's wife.

Depression is a subject that is very difficult to cover in a novel, but RaeAnne Thayne handled it with compassion and sincerity. This was a true Christmas story, showing the love and hope for a family and the people

I really wasn't sure about this one as it started out. I felt much like Luke, angry and hated how it seemed like he was duped by a woman who should have loved him. After we heard what happened to Elizabeth I felt so bad for her, for what started her on the journey to what happened in the aftermath and how she was living her current life.

I have to give Luke credit, knowing what happened changed things for him, allowed him to see the woman he fell in love with and each interaction seem

I have been waiting for Luke's story and I was not disappointed. He is stubborn, but he is also loving and forgiving. At first he doesn't want to hear why Elizabeth left him or why she stayed away. But, once he finds out, he can't help but think it was partially his fault. He has been raising their two children by himself for seven years and all of a sudden Elizabeth is back in his life. Should he let her see the children? What if she takes off again? Elizabeth has had it rough during the time s ...more

This book tugs on so many heart strings, but Author RaeAnne Thayne has a way of doing that! From Brambleberry House to Haven Point, journeys of discovery and reconnection lead to a path of understanding and, possibly, forgiveness. Luke and Elizabeth have lost so much time. Can they recover from the curveballs life has thrown them? I enjoyed Luke’s anger and openness, but mostly I enjoyed how integral the children were to the storyline. Their feelings mattered, and they were always treated with r ...more

The holiday season has begun. Oh, not the official Xmas season, but the holiday romance season, definitely. It seems as if the first of the holiday romances start hitting the shelves right around the first official week of fall, and here we are.

As the year starts winding down, and the weather starts drawing in – or at least cooling off – it just starts to feel like it’s time to curl up under a cozyblanket, with a cup of hot cocoa or tea, a sle

Luke Hamilton’s wife, Elizabeth, disappeared 7 years ago from Haven Point, Idaho. She left him and their 2 children without warning. People had been speculating that Luke had killed her.

Yes you saw that right, it’s one of my first Christmas reviews! I can’t believe I am already seeing a ton of holiday books hitting shelves everywhere.

While I would normally reserve October for mystery or horror novels, I have a soft spot for RaeAnne Thayne. I love her Haven Point books—especially the Christmas ones! This is my fourth book by Thayne and I couldn’t miss another chance to dip back into her cheery holiday filled world!

This is the first Christmas book of 2019 for me. While I am not ready for Christmas, I loved this story. Luke is a single dad raising two wonderful children. Elizabeth is a mother that left her family for reasons that she could not tell them at the time. Now they are all back in the same town, gossips are talking, rumors are running wild, but most importantly feelings are coming back to life after being pushed down for so long.

I loved how Luke was raising his kids. They were no doubt that they

In Coming Home for Christmas Elizabeth Hamilton was suffering from severe post-partum depression. She was so bad she thought her husband and children would be better off without she up and left...with no good-byes or anything. She was gone for seven long years. During that time Elizabeth suffered from a debilitating accident that totally changed her yet she never forgot Luke and her children.

While his wife was gone Luke could not fathom what had happened to her. Why had she

It just wouldn’t be Christmas without a RaeAnne Thayne Christmas story. Thayne is gifted at writing contemporary small-town romances with lots of heart and warm feelings. Her Haven Point stories are favorites of mine, and Coming Home for Christmas is definitely one for the keeper shelf. I’ve loved meeting the people of Haven Point and then revisiting them in subsequent books. Luke and Elizabeth’s story is so poignant and heart-wrenching, yet I loved the sweet uplifting messages of forgiveness, s ...more

This is a book that defines the "spirit of Christmas" for me. It is one of those books that IMPACTS a reader long after you have read it. I will remember this story and the characters for many years to come. You hear about postpartum depression but you don't really know the depths that a woman can sink to and what she is capable of thinking, feeling and doing when it hits. We tend to think that she can control her thoughts and actions and just "get over it". Sadly, that is not always true. In th ...more

An Emotional and Powerful Read!

Coming Home For Christmas is a truly touching tale. A heartfelt story that deals with love, healing and forgiveness. My emotions were all over the place with this one. I felt SO much. RaeAnne Thayne has a true gift of keeping the reader engaged and enthralled. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. With characters that fly off the pages, you become completely and absolutely invested. I felt so emotionally connected. So attached.

This book will just break your heart. A father is left with his young son and daughter when his wife disappears without a word. Even worse, he is suspected of murdering her. For years, Luke has wondered what happened to make his wife leave but never did he imagine that it was because of severe depression leading her to sacrifice her family, thinking that they would be better off without her. The extent of her depression can never be understood except by someone who has gone through the same. ...more

Welcome back to Haven Point!

We finally have Luke & Elizabeth's story. I remember when the author had that little teaser in the last chapter of A Soldier's Secret and I kept thinking it was going to be complete torture having to wait for their story, but the time is finally here and it was so worth the wait!

I have loved all the Haven Point books, but this one was my favorite.

Oh the feels! Tissues will be needed.

First I must say I read the earlier book in this series where Elizabeth went missing so I have been waiting for this one to find out what happened to her.
I had so much empathy for Luke how he had to put up with so many people thinking he was to blame for her disappearance, some even hinting at murder. And oh the kids losing their mother, just heart breaking.

I'm not one of those people who knew from birth she was destined to become a writer. I always loved to read and throughout my childhood I could usually be found with a book in my hands.
