An Alaskan Christmas is book one in Jennifer Snow’s brand new Wild River series. I knew as soon as I heard about this new series that it was going to be something special and it definitely is.

Sweet, sexy, and heartwarming!

An Alaskan Christmas is an enchanting, passionate tale that features the dependable, handsome Reed who may finally discover his little sister’s best friend has become more than he ever could have imagined, and the driven, hardworking Erika who may finally learn there’s a lot more to life than just work.

The prose is effortless and smooth. The characters are spirited, kindhearted, and amusing. And the plot is an entertaining combination of family, friendship, instant

Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
Jennifer Snow’s Wild River series is off to a great beginning with the first story, An Alaskan Christmas. She brings together two unlikely people who seem to rub each other the wrong way but fit so well together when you get right down to it. Dr. Erika Sheridan is forced to take a 2-week vacation from her job at the Anchorage hospital, and reluctantly contacts her childhood best friend, Cassie, to visit her in her old hometown of Wild River. What she hadn’t counted on was feeling a huge ...more

Sigh... I loved this story! So good!
I really have to say I enjoyed this book quite a bit. What made the difference for me is that the author didn’t make us wait too long to enjoy the realization that the the main characters actually were attracted to each other.

Sometimes we have to read halfway through the book to even get to the connection. But the author laid out this story in such a way that allows us to enjoy so much more of the budding and building of the relationship. That

So the first book in the Wild River series is fantastic. I didn't know at first if I would like it, but Snow does a great job of setting up the hero and heroine. They have some obstacles to get past, but I loved them falling for each other and trying to make it work long distance. I also loved that we get a sneak peek at the couple in the next series I assume (the hero's sister and a coworker of his). I

Don't be fooled by this super sweet holiday cover. An Alaskan Christmas by Jennifer Snow is a steamy, whirlwind romance with deeper meaning. This book has all my favorite things. Christmas, second chance love, a bit of thrilling tension & a HEA ending.

An Alaskan Christmas
By: Jennifer Snow

An Alaskan Christmas. Sounds cozy, blanketed with snow and just plain awesome! Erika is a doctor/workaholic who is on a two week mandated vacation. She returns to Wild River, Alaska to visit her best friend Cassie. While there, old flames rekindle with Erika and Cassie's brother, Reed. They have a natural chemistry, not to mention lust. As something grows

I ended up giving An Alaskan Christmas 3 stars. Unfortunately this is an instance of going in with different expectations. When I read a Christmas book I want it to be throwing up Christmas and brimming with Christmas cheer. I’m not sure about the decision to have the word Christmas in the title. I think titled differently I would have enjoyed this book more. It was an interesting story of the Alaskan wilderness, search and rescue teams, and a hot romance between Erika and Reed. But almost no ...more

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a free e-copy of this book for an honest review! I requested this months ago and was able to read it and review it just in time for it to be published. I am so excited to get my holiday seasonal reading on a roll this year and books like this one just make me even more excited! I do realize that I read this one about a month earlier than I usually do, but I wanted to get the review out when it was published.

One of the things I love so much about reading is the fact that the books I read can take me to somewhere different. I can be sitting in my home in Chicago and the next thing you know I'm on a ranch in Texas. Here's the thing, I've been on a lot of ranches and a few small-towns so I wanted to read someplace I haven't spent a lot of time at.

So when I saw this book was in Alaska I really thought about it. I knew I

Erika Sheraton's father run the hospital where she works as a surgeon. He just gave her two weeks vacation (more like forced her to take it) and she's panicking just thinking about it. What could a workaholic do with free time?

Erika decide to go visit the best friend she haven't seen in years who now have her own business of adventure tour in Wild River, Alaska. Cassie is not the only person from her past that she'll meet again. Her friend's brother is still there but not the same scrawny kid

Ordered to take time off, Erika Sheraton reluctantly trades in her scrubs for a ski suit and heads to Wild River, Alaska where her friend Cassie owns an adventure tour company, but nothing compares to the adrenaline rush Erika feels on being reunited with Cassie’s brother, Reed. His sister’s best friend has blossomed into a strong, skilled and confident woman and she’s exactly what his search-and-rescue team needs – and everything he didn’t know he craved.

A moving romance that hits readers right

Kind of a cool premise, but there was very little character development and I didn’t see any real relationship between the hero and the heroine except for pure sexual attraction.

Two and a half stars: A book marketed under the guise of being a Christmas read, but this isn’t a holiday book. Instead it is a steamy, winter romance.

Erika Sheraton is a workaholic. She is a talented and dedicated surgeon so much so that she has time for little else in her life. So when her father, the head of the hospital tells her she must take a mandatory two week vacation immediately, Erika is shocked. Even worse, she has no idea where to go or who to spend the time with since she has no

4.5 Stars: This is the first book in a new series by Jennifer Snow. It is hot, steamy, and sizzling. Erika Sheraton grew up in Wild River, a shy, almost loner. She had one friend, Cassie Reynolds. They were inseparable, and Cassie's family made life bearable for her after the death of her mother. Erika always wanted to be a doctor like her father, so when it came time for college, Erika heads off to Anchorage with plans of medical school, never to return to Wild River. Erika is still a loner as ...more

If you’re looking for a romance with some serious heat and fire this holiday season look no further because this one was I was a little bit fooled by the cutesy cover and didn’t expect it to be quiet so steamy but it was, just wanted to start by giving a heads up on that one right away!

Besides a sizzling romance this one had some serious depth as well, there was a lot going on between Erika and her best friend Cassie, they had a lot to work through in order to repair the friendship that was

Erika is a workaholic, all while trying to get her father to notice her because he's been withdrawn since her mother died. When she's forced to take a vacation and runs into her best friend's older brother... well, they can't deny the fire between them. But it soon turns into something more than just lust... can they make it work? Or will Erika run back to her old life and leave Reed in the snow-covered mountains?

It’s hot in Alaska!

Okay, the weather not so much but Erika and Reed are heating up the place!
From frenemies to lovers was a leap but the journey was full of all the pratfalls of falling in love and wow, was it good! Erika reluctantly went home for a forced break to rekindle her friendship with her long ago bestie. So awkward but also very relatable as they tentatively reconnected over wine, shared memories and new adventures. Reed was an unexpected trial and bonus she had not been expecting… At

This book was so enjoyable and I'm looking forward to more in this series!!

Alaska, one of the places I have wanted to visit, seems even better now (smiley face). A place where you can't control everything, even if you are a doctor. There is more to this story than just a romance. Erika (the doctor) who is trying to prove herself by basically working herself to death is told she must take a vacation, but yet she is working on a trial study that is very important to her and it truly is the most

If you love watching Hallmark Christmas movies and reading holiday-themed books, you’ve probably noticed a recurring theme: a character leaves her stressful life in the city to return to her small hometown where she bumps into her old high school boyfriend, and they miraculously fall back in love during the holidays. These fictitious hometown reunions have become a fun Christmas tradition for many.

Well, AN ALASKAN CHRISTMAS (the first book in a new series called “Wild River”) takes a different,

A charming, sexy, and entertaining romance.

Erika Sheraton is a workaholic surgeon who’s ordered to take a mandatory vacation and heads to Wild River, Alaska where her best friend Cassie lives.

Reed Reynolds is Cassie’s brother and a valuable member of Wild River’s search-and-rescue team. As soon as Erika and Reed meet there’s a strong attraction but also lighthearted tension and humorous banter. As they start spending time with each other the desire and admiration for each other grows, but what
