Fighting to Score was the twelfth book in the Baltimore Banners series by Lisa Kamps. I recommend reading the novella, Christmas Interference, first for the backstory.
Shane Masters was a professional hockey player for the Baltimore Banners. Five years ago he was in an accident that ended the NHL hopes of his best friend, Wyatt. A rift was created and when Shane entered the NHL, he not only left Wyatt behind but he left Chloe, Wyatt’s twin, behind as well. Chloe was Shane’s first and only love. A ...more

Before you begin Fighting to score, you should read their other book, Christmas Interference because this one picks up in what feels the middle of their story. Chloe has left Shane and he has no idea why. I didn't have a clue as to what was going on in her head either and I feel like she needed to talk to someone about her overall feelings. Even after she explained her reasoning, I found myself not understanding the reason she left. She said that she felt like she didn't know Shane and yet she l

Fighting To Score by Lisa B. Kamps is the full story of Shane & Chloe who we met in Christmas Interference, but can still be enjoyed as a standalone if you wish. This angst filled tale brings us on a journey of second chances after years apart and pain that seems to linger under the surface. The two characters are scared to rock the boat and move past their pain that they just hold status quo while trying to make things work. This story brought up emotions in me ~ at times I wanted to smack the

Shane has everything he could possibly want, both personally and professionally...until he loses the most important part of his life...the woman he loves. He doesn't know what he did wrong, nor how to fix it, but he's determined to win her back. If only his former best friend, her twin brother, Wyatt, would help.

Fighting to Score by Lisa B. Kamps is the twelfth book in the Baltimore Banners series and the first book I have ready by this author. Though I do not feel that you need to read the entire series first, there is a prequel, Christmas Interference, that I found out about later, that should probably be read first. This was a second chance sports romance.

What a great hokey romance. From start to finish I was riveted and couldn’t put this book down. This is Shane Masters and Chloe Hunter’s story which began in Christmas Interference. However, I have not read the book where these two began and I had no trouble following this one at all.

Figuring out the heart is much easier when you have your head on straight. Fighting to Score is about listening to your head without drowning out your heart. For Shane and Chloe, young love has become adult confusion. What once felt perfect is quickly becoming a mess. Can two broken hearts find their way back to becoming one? Kamps puts it all on the line and scores a goal.

Guilt over the past weighs heavily on a couple hoping to start over as an accident from years ago tore apart a friendship and a burgeoning romance. Brought back together after five years apart theirs is an angst-fueled tale, full of frustrating moments that had me wanting to smack both of the main leads a time or two. With its story set amidst the backdrop of hockey, everything soon evolves into winning and losing and is a reason to root this couple on as they try to put the past behind them to

Shane Masters' life is great, he's a pro hockey player, financially set, and until a month ago, thought he had the woman that he's always loved. However, for whatever reason, she's ghosted him, and he has no clue what he did wrong. And it that's not enough chaos, his former best friend/her twin brother, Wyatt, shows up at his house to stick his nose into their business. Chloe Hunter has never stopped loving Shane, but after deciding to give them another chance, and actually flying out to spend t

A sweet and touching story about healing
Book 12 in the Baltimore Banners series, I hadn’t read any of the previous books in the series but I did read Christmas Interference in Hockey Holidays, one of my favorites from the anthology. My only regret was that Christmas Interference wasn’t longer, but as it turns out, it was a prequel for this story. Note I thought this book worked well as a standalone, and I would have enjoyed it even if I hadn’t read the prequel; in fact, while Christmas Interfer ...more

Having just recently read Christmas Interference which introduces Shane, Chloe and Wyatt, I was pleased that Fighting to Score soon follows!
Shane and Chloe have a history together. That history started before he became the hockey star he is today. Fighting To Score is the continuation of Chloe and Shane's story from the prequel novella, Christmas Interference, which was also included in the Hockey Holidays anthology. I was eager for this book to release as I'd really enjoyed the novella, but sadly I struggled with the start of this book. I'd expected the story to start back up from where the novella had ended, but it's actually set a few weeks later and it felt like something was missing. We are given an explanation of what happened durin

After reading Christmas Interference I had to read this book. Boy was I glad I did. I loved every minute of Shane and Chloe's story. I've not had the pleasure of reading any of Lisa B. Kamps other books, but I had no problem jumping right in with this story. I think even if I hadn't read Christmas Interference I wouldn't have had an issue, but I needed to know more about these two from that book. Chloe and Shane has a past. Fighting to Score may be book 12 in the Baltimore Banners Series but that doesn’t mean it can’t be read as a stand-alone, I know this because I’m playing catch up with this great series and at this time I haven’t read every book but I still loved Shane and Chloe’s story. This book was so much more than just a romance it was a journey, it was a story about forgiveness, letting go of the past and its certainly second chance romance at its best.

This book is the continuation of Shane and Chloe story from Christmas Interference. Let me just say this book was incredible. This book just blew me away. Lisa B. Kamps did such a great job writing this book. This story was so much more then a romance story. It was a story about forgiveness. Even though Shane and Chloe loved each other so much the past they share keeps coming between them. Shane cannot forgive himself for what happened and Chloe feels like Shane abandoned her. Then you have Wyat

Chloe and Shane haven't seen eachother in 5 years since shane left without saying a word due to the guilt he felt in the aftermath of a car accident they were in.

Fighting to Score is a fantastic hockey romance! It’s is the continuing story about Shane and Chloe that all started in Christmas Interference.
Again, Lisa B. Kamps has brought us characters that we can’t help but love and root for to find their way to their happily ever after.

Another great addition to the Baltimore Banner Series! And for better understand of Shane and Chloe, read Christmas Interference! Have Fighting To Score ready because you'll be wanting more of their story! Here it is!
Author Kamps did an awesome job with the male point of view. I was so very drawn to him and the anguish he carried. Most would have just looked at him as a wealthy hockey jock, but Shane was so in depth with his past, career and his generous heart too. He was so much more than even ...more

Worth fighting for...
After the Christmas novella about Shane and Chloe reconnecting, I was looking forward to the continuation of their story.
Shane and Chloe have a lot of baggage to sort through if they are ever to get past their teenage relationship and turn it into a long lasting adult commitment. Chloe is understandably hesitant, but she has only been existing, with her life on hold and she really needs to give herself a shake. At the same time, Shane finally has to face his demons and talk ...more

I am a diehard Lisa B Kamps fan and have read all the Banners and Bombers books, but the ARC copy of Fighting to Score disappointed.
Firstly, Christmas Interference is not a novella, it is merely the first couple of chapters cut from Fighting to Score and published separately- reading one title without the other will leave paying customers frustrated and with huge plotline gaps.
I simply could not to connect to Chloe, instead of admiring her for everything she's gone through, she just comes acro ...more

Lisa B. Kamps triumphs with FIGHTING TO SCORE, the twelfth book in the Baltimore Banners series. I was excited that LISA B. Kamps continued Shane Masters’ and Chloe Hunter‘s story. She wrote their prequel in book 11.5, CHRISTMAS INTERFERENCE, which was originally released in the HOCKEY HOLIDAYS Anthology.

First of all I have to say if you didn't read the Christmas short Christmas Interference stop and go back and read it. I'll admit I didn't, nor did I really want to. While you don't have to read it, you might get a better feel on this story if you do. With that being sad, I enjoyed this book. I'll be up front and admit that I wasn't a very big fan of Chloe though. She knew she loved Shane but she couldn't figure out completely what was making her freak out. She just kept being evasive and either

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. That’s not a problem because this is another great book by Lisa. Her ability to put suspense in a romance never ceases to amaze me. You do not have to read the short story, Christmas Interference, prior to reading this book, but I highly encourage it. It will give you a better understanding of events mentioned in Fighting To Score.
