It's almost Halloween in Oriole Point, MI and the town is gearing up for its Haunted Halloween Harvest Health Fair. Although Marlee Jacob thinks combining Halloween with a health fair is a bit weird, she's ready for the influx of tourists to the town. The leaves have turned and the weather is forecast to be perfect. The list of activities, speakers and other health-related workshops is outstanding, including a nationally recognized diet guru. Things start getting a bit strange when a local eccen ...more

The fourth cozy mystery in the, A Berry Basket Mystery series, this one is about all things mulberries.
The mystery was engaging and well plotted. It kept me guessing all the way to the end. Fast paced, I enjoyed it and the addition of Halloween and a small town setting in Michigan added to it's appeal.
The character's were easy to get to know and like or dislike if the story set them up this way!
I look forward to reading more in this series.

This is the fourth book in the Berry Basket Mystery series by Sharon Farrow.

Basic premise: Marlee Jacob owns a business called The Berry Basket. She sells all things berry themed: food, baked goods, fruit, etc. When the mysterious Leticia the Lake Lady approaches her one day to buy enough mulberries to cover her entire house, Marlee is intrigued. She is even more intrigued when the lake lady tells her that someone wants her dead. After Marlee delivers the mulberries to Leticia’s house a

Mulberry Mischief is my first read of the Berry Basket Mysteries. I jumped right into this series with no problem following the characters or the setting, etc., and though it was obvious that there were books/storylines before this one I didn’t feel lost.

Marlee is a really likable protagonist, and the supporting characters in her friendship circle are equally engaging. I especially liked her friend Theo and her boyfriend (and swoony police officer) Kit. The former has a sincere heart,

Mulberry Mischief is the fourth book in Sharon Farrow’s Berry Basket Mystery series and is a well thought out and interesting mystery, with a good storyline and character development. This is an entertaining and easy to read, with a strong emphasis placed on the value of friendship. What a fantastic cozy!! Marlee runs an adorable berry themed shop in a small town in Michigan. Halloween is coming with lots of festivities. While going about her business the town's eccentric lady approaches her with a crazy story as well as a request to purchase lots of mulberries. Once they arrive the delivery goes array when she finds a dead body with a mystery all its own and the lady nowhere to be

This is a very enjoyable Halloween themed cozy mystery. Poor Marley Jacobs just can't catch a break and once again discovers another dead body. One of the things that draws me to this series is that it is set in my home state of Michigan. The author has such a wonderful writing style that I can picture the area of the state where the story is set. The characters are well developed and continue to grow. I approve of Marley's new relationship and enjoying seeing the changes taking place with the r ...more

I was introduced to this author last year (or the year before, time flies by too quickly) and ever since I read the first book, Dying for Strawberries, I have been a fan of this series.  Living on a lake, running a store, and berries of all sorts everywhere.  Sounds like a perfect combination to me!

Marlee and the gang are back to solve another murder.  I don't think Marlee likes stumbling across dead bodies, just seems to be the way her life goes (as it seems to be with any cozy protagonist!) bu

MULBERRY MISCHIEF, the fourth book in the Berry Basket Mysteries, by Sharon Farrow is a berrylicious addition to an entertaining series. The protagonist, Marlee Jacob, is a sweet young woman who has close friendships with her employees and gives of her time to make the town’s numerous events a success. As owner of the yummy Berry Basket shop, Marlee is well-versed in the properties of a multitude of berries. I liked the mystery and the characters. Marlee is asked by an eccentric woman to get her enough mulberries to keep her house safe from the shadow people. It all sounds crazy but she is really frightened and Marlee agrees to help her. The woman had been in prison for murder at one time and now there is a man found dead on her property. The woman has disappeared. Marlee is sure she did not murder the man, but how to prove that? Marlee and her friends are not only trying to solve the mystery of thi ...more

Book 4 of the series.

I was glad to see this series saved. That said, this was not my favorite in the series. It was an okay read, but mostly because I could catch up with Marlee and her friends. And I could gloat a bit that the ex-fiance was out of the picture, since I never liked him, haha. But it was a slow read, and took me a while to get into. I ended up putting it down and reading something else for a bit. Things picked up about halfway through.

I am glad to see Marlee back, and would likely

A very good cozy mystery. It's the second I read in this series and I think it's better than the previous one.
I loved the mystery, well crafted and gripping, the likeable cast of characters and the setting.
It's fast paced, well developed and it kept me guessing till the end.
I look forward to reading the next instalment in this series.
Highly recommended!

Mulberry Mischief is a delightful little cozy mystery. As someone who is half Ohioan and half Michigander (and 100% a Great Lakes enthusiast), the setting couldn’t be more perfect. Oriole Point is an adorable little resort town right on Lake Michigan.

Marlee is a great main character - and I loved her group of friends! I found myself wishing The Berry Basket was a real shop, and that I could somehow join the cast of characters in this book.

I really enjoyed this lively fourth in series and learned a bit about mulberries. This Halloween-themed story can be appreciated at any time of year. The tragic heroines we meet and the stunning conclusion are more haunting than the ghosts and goblins preparing for the parades. Characters are well-defined, the mystery is challenging, and the setting on beautiful Lake Michigan in Oriole Point is gorgeous.
