Every time I think I have felt all the emotions I could feel in one of JE’s books, she proves me wrong in the best possible way and brings another story so real, raw and amazing. This book proves that’s our past can be what not only hurts us, but what also drives us to fight for something better. Never give up hope, believe in yourself, don’t let others bring you down and slay the demons inside. Loss, pain, sorrow, but also second chances at a life with the family you create, love and many beautiful moments is what this story is about.

J.E., knows how to tell a story that’s digs deep and buries itself into my soul. I love each and every one of her books. This one is a don’t miss, because she brings us so dang much. Real life can be cruel, it can take us to our knees and this story shows that. It also shows us that we may have made bad choices, been stripped of a choice, had horrific things happen to us, but they don’t define us, we still deserve love and happiness.

Live for today, fight for tomorrow!💙 She shows us people can do this and once again the love of family, friends and that person who is meant just for you, is everything!💙

Oh the angst! If you want to be beaten down to the ground and picked back up again, then check out this book! It’s the first I’ve read in this series, but it stood well as a standalone. I’m definitely going to be checking out previous books in the series, though!
As much as I loved this book, the epilogue was a little too far-fetched and cheesy for my liking. Too many twists that came way out of left field.
That said, it’s a great book, though my heart hurts and I’m going to need to read something light next!

Lovely story.

The story is mainly about the romance between Ashley and Chase. But it is not just that. Ashley’s past was terrifying to read about. Chase himself has his problems. Despite that, they get together and give love a chance. The emotions of the characters and its depth was really enjoyable to read. Liked it.

I thought Ty and Heidi’s story wrecked me, but Chase and Ashley completely destroyed me. I swear my heart broke about a million times throughout this book. I also thought I couldn’t love another book in this series as much as I did Ty and Heidi’s, but I was sooo wrong.
This book was a complete emotional roller coaster and my eyes were constantly either fighting the tears or giving in to them.
Chase was the absolute best. For being 18, he was mature, sweet, kind hearted and protective beyond words. The way he was so patient and loving with Ashley, I have no words. He never gave up on her or their love. Even when he allowed her to push him away and he respected and loved her enough to give her her space- for 18 months, he still loved her with everything he had. It was both sad and beautiful.
Ashley, damn, did my heart break for her. She had to have had one of the worst, and most heartbreaking childhoods ever. In the last book I wasn’t sure how I felt about her. I was torn between thinking she was selfish for pushing Chase away constantly and then for wanting to run away, and also feeling bad for thinking that. But after reading her story and everything she endured, I know without a doubt she is anything but selfish. Ashley was one of the most unselfish women ever. She was strong and brave, and had a huge heart. I cried for her in the beginning when she held Carmen as she died, and then when she watched Jade get shot. And my heart was breaking when Shelby was screaming at Anthony to do something about the man who hurt Ashley and her friends. And it was grandmama’s words that really had me fighting my tears in the end when she told Ashley something broke in her the day she found Ashley crying on the floor when she told Chase to leave and she couldn’t be with him anymore. She carried so much guilt over everything that happened and at times it was a little frustrating to watch her push Chase away and tell him she’s no good and isn’t worth being with. Instead of talking to him and trying to open up and let her walls down, she kept everything a secret, pushed him away, and wanted to run. It was so agonizing and frustrating, but I reminded myself of just what kind of hell she went through- and it started for her at only 3-4. The unimaginable pain and suffering she went through and the unbelievable things her own mother allowed to happen to her were just gut wrenching.
But the ending and Chase giving her the world like he always promised was the absolute best. I loved seeing Ashley reunite with Addie, and it was especially sweet to see Chase become that little girl’s daddy. He truly was just the best dang guy ever and how he loved both Ashley and Addie was beyond beautiful.
My only issue, and I am glad to see they didn’t die, but seeing Jade and Carmen alive and well in the end didn’t make sense. It was too unbelievable and honestly I didn’t get it. I mean where have they been for almost 5 years??? Not once did they try to reach out to Ashley?? It just didn’t make sense. But I’m curious to see how things play out and I’m excited for Pop and Carmen’s story next.

Before I get into the review, I would like to share the newest Southern greatness that is Grandmama sayings.

"Listen here, you two. I ain't got time for this. I'm busier than a one-legged cat in a sandbox... "

"I mean it. No flirty looks, stolen kisses, or hanky panky. Keep it platonic. Else I'll jerk you bald-headed."

“You may not have the sense God gave a goose, but at least you ain’t completely dumb.”

“it’s more work than herdin’ cats!”

“You best be remembering what I said. I know you’ve got a tendency to get more confused than a fart in a fan factory, but I mean it—keep your dang hands to yourself. Else I’ll be the proud new owner of your balls. Got it?”

"...Cause all four of you are blinder than bats drunk on liquor!”

“Boy, you better thank the good Lord above for football,” she said, exhaling frustratedly. “’Cause you don’t know whether to check your ass or scratch your watch half the time. Course I ain’t gonna do no pull-ups, but you can bet your sweet behind that I’m gonna be watching from the front row.”

Now that we got those memorable quotes out of the way, let's get down to the story! This is Chase and Ashley 's story and right off the bat I liked the way the story was weaved in between Chase's older brother Ty's story. They are very close brothers and it all made sense. We learn some heartbreaking details about Ashley 's life before the shelter. But while I was crying, Ashley was getting stronger. She gets into the strong group of family and friends, and it all makes you believe in fate.

The greatest thing about the story is Parker keeps the active drama to a minimum and the characters to the forefront. This is about relationships, and less about the negative. These characters have pasts that would make most people shudder. Parker takes southern cliches and turns them genuine. I sobbed happily through this magical story, and the twists make it that much better. These are beloved characters who earned the respect and devotedness of the readers as well as their friends.

Wow! I had to sit on this one for a few days after reading before I could put my thoughts together. There are some things that Ashley went through that are absolutely horrifying to read about. However, it was written in a way that isn't overly graphic, but the reader will absolutely feel every ounce of pain Ashley feels. She has lived through unimaginable pain and loss, but won the lottery when Shelby and Anthony adopted her. Chase is just about perfect in this book. He has his own problem, namely his crooked cop father that keeps coming back, but he would do anything for Ashley even if that means walking away. I found myself holding my breath a few times hoping Ashley would finally open up about her past, and I was so relieved when she finally did, although it was gut wrenching.
While this book was extremely emotional, Grandmama was still out in full force with her usual antics. I couldn't help but laugh! The epilogue helped put my broken pieces back together, and of course it's got me anxiously waiting for more!

This book obliterated my heart… it was torn into tiny shreds and then stomped on…. I’ve cried with every single one of these books, felts each persons pain, sorrow, happiness, and love. But not one and I mean absolutely without a doubt not one hurt as bad as this one did. Ashley had more pain inflicted upon her in a mere 17 years than most have in a lifetime …. She was an absolute warrior to keep going and keep fighting her demons, even if they held her back for a long time. And Chase oh that sweet stubborn boy … he never gave up on his sweetness… he never looked at another girl again, from 18 on she was all he saw…. And to be head jock, promising NFL career that is rare … to know who owns your heart and soul forever at 18 , to know they will fight beside you and with you through everything is such a rarity …

My emotions have emotions. This series has torn every emotion out of me and wrung me dry in the very best way. Chase and Ashely do not have an easy road, their path is riddled with demons and fear blocking them at every turn. Chase is the epitome of white knight and the love he has for Ashley is so fierce. Ashley has been beat down by the evil of the world time and time again, trusting herself to fall in love with Chase is another battle. Their story is as beautiful as it is sad and heart wrenching... I don’t know that I’ve ever phased through all of my emotions in one book but this one... the ugly crying is so worth it for the happiest of endings!!! My favorite in the series so far, they just keep getting better.

I was going to try to do a trigger warning review but honestly... if you're very sensitive to almost any form of violence against women & children, this isn't the series for you. This definitely isn't the book for you, there's every kind of abuse and violence against children that you can ever imagine. This book will take you on a roller coaster, I had to take a break for a while because it was a lot.

Love that Chase and Ashley got their HEA, my nerves are still strung out from the journey to get there though. I think I've said this in almost all of my reviews of the books in this series, but there really really needs to be like 30% content involving the secondary characters. I understand that this is one big happy family of people who show up for each other, but they're are just sooo many couples now. We don't need an in depth catch up with every single one in every single book.

I had a lot of feelings while reading this book. The mental health struggle that begins when you break free from abuse, no matter the ‘severity’, is brutal. Reading through Ashley’s battle with her demons (a phrase I felt was used a bit too often throughout the story) was one that hit so many different emotions and prompted me to take the breaks that I needed to fully process and enjoy the beauty in this story. I would love to give this one four stars, but there’s just something about the last 10-ish pages that strike me as not realistic. I’m going with 3.5 stars for this one but catch me reading the rest of the series over the next however-many-weeks.

This is book seven but you don't have to read them in order I do recommend that you read them in order you may run into some spoilers from the first books . Masterpiece #7 Multiplied by A Billion!! ♥️

Holy smokes! Where do I even begin?! Okay, Chase and Ashley are the most adorable couple but more than that, in a lot of ways they are one of the strongest couples. I’m in awe right now of how real and raw this story was. Ashley has been through hell and back so many times and yet, she’s still putting one foot in front of the other. She claims she’s poison but she’s a rose who has some thorns but they don’t take away from her beauty.

Chase had all the background and blood in him to be a monster but thanks to Ty and to his own moral compass, he never became the devil his father was. He became Ashley’s savior and the light that helped her bloom and grow. So patient and loving to her, it brought me to tears repeatedly.

This whole story is as real as it gets people. From beginning to end you are in the trenches with these characters and you feel what they feel, see what they see and that closeness you get is all a testament to the skill that J. E. Parker possesses.

The part that really got to me was Addie. That Chase got Addie for Ashley and helped transition Addie as her daddy, just made me weep but in a good way. Then he won the Super Bowl for his girls and proposed and I’m a sobbing mess of emotions, cheering for their HEA.

Don’t even get me started on Jade and Carmen! My jaw dropped and I just couldn’t stop crying about their fate. If you know, you know. I’m stoked to hear all about James and Carmen.

I’m still processing this story and I know I’ll have more to say soon, but this is a MUST read.

***Received an ARC for my honest review.***

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
Let me start by saying that the cover of this book is absolutely stunning.

This book is about Ashley and Chase and for me it was about healing, especially Ashley. She had the most horrible upbringing since a very young age. For her it was about survival. The things she went through had me in tears from the first chapter. At one stage I had to put my Ipad down just to get myself under control. It was very hard for me to read to think that what happened in this book happens in real life as well. So be warned there are definitely triggers in this book.

Chase had his own demons although not as bad as Ashley's. He was such a loving and caring guy. It was as if he was born to be there for Ashley.

Granmama had me in stitches again, especially when you read what she has in her garden and what she was going to do to Chase if he hurt Ashley (not physically).

I want to suggest you start with the other books first, although this is a standalone. Ms Parker did an excellent job with interwining the previous books with this one. It's like they just flow in together as one book.

This was absolutely an amazing book.
Make sure you stock up on tissues, chocolate, wine, etc.

Well done Jaimee on yet another amazing book.

EPIC STORY!

I won't attempt to provide any type of summary, as I'm horrible with words. However, I will say this much...I read a lot and I mean a lot of books. Like at least three a week! This is by far the best book I've read all year I think! Nothing is drawn out, even though it's a long read. To say it will keep you on the edge of your seat is an understatement! Be prepared to lose sleep. It's truly consuming! A lot of books you can predict what will happen but that is NOT the case here. Ok, maybe once or twice but it's not disappointing by far. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. You're missing an awesome read if you decide to pass on it ❤

Trigger warning: sexual assault, violence, domestic abuse.

This book is so amazing. Each book that this author comes out with conveys such deep emotions, but this book.. goodness you're going to need a box of tissues. Each book in the series takes on difficult topics, but this one for me was the hardest to handled. Not so much because of the subject matter itself, but because of how young Ashley was, and how so many people failed her from the get go. At one point I had to put this book down and just give my two young girls hugs, because I just couldn't imagine this happening to one of my babies.

As for my review: We know from the previous books in the series that Ashley is only seventeen, was forced into prostitution, barley survived getting away from her pimp, and is now finally in a loving home environment thanks to Shelby and Tony. I knew this poor girl has demons that were so powerful, but when we find out all that she's been through, all she witnessed, I understood just why she was so broken and why she felt that she didn't deserve anything good in her life. The absolute terror this girl was in for most of her life, was just astounding. The fact that she was still standing, and trying to put her heart and life back together, piece by broken piece.. it just overwhelmed me. She is definitely one of the strongest heroines I've ever has the pleasure of reading.

As for Chase, he was just perfect. He was so patient with her, so kind, so understanding from the get go. Growing up with the father he did (If you recall, his older brother Ty protected him by taking the beatings he's father dealt him, so Chase wouldn't have to suffer.) He's one of the kindest, gentlest souls, and only at seventeen, he's a better man than most become in their lifetime. I love how from the very first moment, Chase felt this connection to Ashley, and the need to protect her from everything he possibly could. He always made sure that she knew she was his entire heart, and treated her like a queen. The men in this authors books are all incredible, but I have to say that Chase is definitely one of my favorites.

Ashley is bewildered by how soon she feels comfortable around Chase, and how quickly she begins to trust him -- especially with her history with men. As time goes on, it's, clear that she loves him just as much as he loves her, but she feels so worthless and so 'dirty' because of her past. She feels that if she were to tell Chase the whole truth, that the love he has for her would instantly turn into disgust. And having lost almost everyone in her short lifetime that she has ever loved, she's not willing to take that risk. But will she ever open her heart to him all the way, and have him see all of her beautifully bent (not broken!!) pieces?

I have so much love for this book and these characters. I've always said how much I love Tony, and he goes above and beyond in this book. He always made sure Ashley knew that he was his daughter, regardless of biology, and always protected her. She finally got to know what true parents were like because of him and Shelby, and I'm so glad she was able to heal that part of herself because of them.

**small spoiler here, so please beware!**

I have never understood how parents could allow their boyfriends to abuse their children just so they could get high and/or drunk. Ashley's birth mom is the epitome of trash, and to not only let one person violate her daughter, but so many more after that.. And then not believe her when Ashley confessed to it happening again.. I felt such rage towards this character. I know this happens in real life, but I can never understand how they justify their actions. You're supposed to protect your kids, with everything that you have in you.. not put them in harm's way for your own selfish gain. It just broke my heart that Ashley's own mother did that to her.

**end spoiler.**

There's so many twists in this book too, and so many moments that brought tears to my eyes. The ending was beyond perfect, and the set up for Pops book was so AMAZING! This author is so incredibly talented, and I can't wait for her next release!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

Every Kiss you Steal is book seven in the Redeeming Love series and probably one of the most in the series that takes your heart and steals it over and over until those little kisses start to help heal some scars. Don't get me wrong! Each book in this series deals with a sensitive topic and hurts your heart, but heals it as well, but this one will reach you more based upon how young Ashley is and the life she endured already. While it ain't easy reading about any of these topics, I truly believe that while no one should have to endure these bad situations, with the bad came the good when the time was right. Life isn't easy, but it shows that the bad can make you stronger and your past may help someone else. Pay it forward and we see that here as well! Ashley has lived the life no child should have to ever live (as does Chase); however, her situation is worse than what we saw portrayed in the prior books. If you have not followed the series no worries you will see it all come out in this story so you are never lost. Be still your heart over and over reading this! Ashley has demons and secrets and you can only keep them hidden for so long before it tries to destroy you again. Chase and Ashley have a connection and although she keeps him at arms length he makes her feel things she believes she shouldn't be. Will he be there for her once the secrets are revealed? Holy Steal your breath away! I did not expect some twists in this story and how some of this comes full circle. This is all I will say to allow you to experience this story and the events that occurred. As you will see from the secondary characters that they will love and protect you no matter what, it truly shines when you see how Anthony is and Shelby (Ashley's parents) are. Yes, they were protective before, but the love they have for their children is endless and how every parent should be. Let's not forget that while your heart may hurt reading this, we get some much needed laughter from Grandmama and her crazy self! Her and the crazy chick girls make those sadder moments better with their antics. These stories are full of real life sensitive topics, takes your breath away, but leaves you with a positive message in the end. Oh yeah, and the suspense just keeps getting better and better in each story! That ending with a bomb dropper was a device holder and did not see that one coming! I cannot wait for this to be revealed in a future release.

★★★★. Wow. Wow. Wow. This book was SO GOOD. J.E Parker really pulled out all the angst and pain with this one. I was crying right from the beginning all the way until the end. There was truly pure innocent love to hardcore soulmate love throughout this entire book. A fabulous book with an amazing plot and characters. The reason for 4 stars was the time jumps. I’ll always hate time jumps and the one after the third act even though we didn’t see them during the time still HURT.

My poor baby Ashley. She went through so much from the minute she was born all the way until she was 17. Her life was never safe and when it was finally safe, happy and healthy; those demons of her always found a way in. I loved how strong she got and how she realized everything that happened wasn’t her fault. I was so happy for her when Carmen, Jade and Allie all survived and she got them back.

Chase. The best best man. He saw Ashley and his heart knew she was the one. He fell right away and not once, NOT ONCE, did he led up. He pursed her all the way until the end. He waited YEARS for her to become comfortable enough to be with him and would’ve waited longer. Everything he did, it was for her and only her. I loved his relationship with Allie.

Anthony and Shelby were the best parents. My heart broke reading Anthony and Ashley’s relationship because every time she was hurting or needed someone, she ran to her dad and this man dropped everything for her without hesitation.

“Seems I left something behind when I blew out of Toluca all those months ago.” Raking his tongue over his bottom lip, he slipped his hands into the pocket of his sweatpants, ones which hung low on his lean hips. “And I’m here to get it back.”

My chest rose and fell as the surrounding air thickened, making it nearly impossible to breathe. “Yeah?” I asked, forcing myself to remain still and not swoon like a frickin’ fool. “And what is that?”

“He didn’t hesitate. “You.”

Of Ferris Wheels and Stolen Kisses

J.E. Parker just keeps getting better and better with every new book she releases each and every time!

We have one of the most heartbreaking story of them all...Ashley's. Reading everything she has been through just absolutely broke my heart. I had to stop several times to collect myself and refrain from going to the nearest jail and "putting my boots up the rear ends" of those who did the same thing to other kids the same way that it happened with Ashley. No one deserves it and those who conquered and rose from the ashes of these terrible things happening to them should be applauded and be made into heroes.

But as Ashley has her own demons to overcome, so does Chase. He has been a witness to violence from his childhood and his only saving grace was his brother Ty. The man who inflicted the horrors from their childhood remained to be a force that threatened their lives and the one who will break everyone's hearts.

Ashley and Chase's love story is one of the sweetest things you could ever read. Yes it is ridden with darkness but their love is such a blindingly bright light to that darkness. The patience that Chase has is in comparable to anything else. I could not love this book more than I ever could.

I love how the ferris wheel became part of the story. You get really excited going into it, you start at the bottom and make your way to the top but just as soon as you are enjoying the view, you have to go down again and at times you stay on the sides waiting for something to happen. When you finally feel like everything is good, you have to get out of it and face everything you left behind. It is up to the one who was in it to make a choice to be a better person or go back to how you were after the thrilling ride

An absolute must-read! More than a five-star book yet again!

"I finally found it. After all this time, I finally found it."
"What? What did you f-find?"
"My home, Ashley Jo. In you, I found my home."

Oh. My. Lord!!! I have read every book in this series and this author puts her characters through the wringer - right along with my heart!! Have the tissues ready - this one is full of pain, heartache, perseverance, devotion and strength. You will cry happy tears. You will cry sad tears. You will cry angry tears. But Lord help you, you won't be able to stop reading!!

Let's start with Ashley Jo. She's been through the worst life can dish out and yet she's strong and fiercely loyal to those she loves. She carries a guilt that was never hers to bear, and just when happiness is within her grasp, she lets her demons tell her she is undeserving. No matter how badly she wants it, she has to let him go. I was mentally screaming at her and wanted to shake some sense in to her!! Thank goodness she has a wonderful support system around her and a boy who won't let her go!

Now, we have Chase. He doesn't have the best reputation in town, largely due to his devil of a father. He's been known to throw a punch or two too many and Ashley's parents are none too pleased with his interest in Ashley. But, dang that boy is patient - and devoted, and loving. I'm staking my claim on Chase now. He's mine, so back off!! Yeah, yeah, I know - I'm twice his age -but in my little book world, we're made for each other!

If you haven't read this series, start it now! This was such an amazing addition to this collection! I have fallen in love with every character. They've all been through hell and come out stronger on the other side. Chase and Ashley's story will shatter you and put you all back together by the end. Oh, the end? Remember those tissues? You'll need them!!

She failed to save the ones she loved the most she can't fail again. When she saw the chance to run, she took it going to the one place she was told would help her. She didn't know it then, but that place would give her more than she ever thought she would have.

Chase might not have ever been on the receiving end of his corrupt police officer father's rage, but he was damaged all the same. He needs to learn how to control his anger because if he doesn't, he can kiss his future of playing for the NFL goodbye and he will disappoint his brother who has given everything to save Chase.

When Chase is asked to watch over Grandmama's new granddaughter Ashley he instantly agreed. Something in him recognized something in her, what that something was he wasn't sure.
Ashley now has a family that protects her and loves her, but can she trust the new guy that says he wants to protect her as well.

Can Chase get Ashley to open up to him so he can help fix her?
Can Ashley figure out why Chase is the only one to quiet her demons?
When Ashley finds out her past is connected to Chase's will she stay and fight or will Ashley once again be forced to run to save herself?

I don't know how many more ways I can write how amazing these books are. They just keep getting better and better. This one, just like the other six, will break your heart for what Chase and Ashley have been through. Just like the others, Chase does not disappoint in the alpha/protectiveness department. He loves his girl fiercely and never judges her on her past. What I love the most is how gently Chase is with Ashley even when he wants nothing more than to rage at what she has been through.

Received this bad boy as an ARC

Let’s star off by saying thank you so much for the chance to read it I love and have read every single book on this series and it’s amazing what you have done with this awesome story’s. I didn’t kno how I was going to be after I finished reading this one you broke my heart with everything this strong awesome characters went through. What I have loved about your story’s and the characters is that no matter what they go through it’s always something that sounds so real it’s not like any other books that have so what the same theme to them that a lot of authors make the leading women characters kind of weak and that they have to depend on a man to help them get through whatever it is there going through and alt of the stuff that happens is just not that believable and your books don’t do that you make every situation about something that actually happens or someone has experienced or gone through some what the same situation which is so heart braking but it happens a lot in the real world and you never make the leading character come off as weak or dependent on anyone else. We see them struggle with there emotions believing that there’s good people out there still who want to help them they go through a lot to become the strong independent women they need to be. I just loved this one out of all the others it was sad to see Ashley go through how she had to make a really hard decision that no mother would want to do but it was the only way I’m glad she got a family an loving man who was there for her no matter what and she got the happily ever after she deserves after every horrible thing that she went through since she was a little girl herself. Read this book your gonna love it it’s gonnna be so emotional but so worth it

I swear every book I read in this series I say “best book I’ve read all year” and the last book with Ty and Heidi blew me away. But this book will change your life.

I know it sounds a bit dramatic but you seriously have to read this book and you will get it.

I knew Ashley’s story was tragic, but how tragic will blow your mind. She has gone through so much so when you see her walls come down and let Chase is it’s amazing. She a character you just want to hug all the time. You want to make her demons disappear. And Chase tries his hardest to chase those demons away.

I loved that this book was 4 parts because there are 4 steps in Ashley story. The first part is her past. It starts the build of her story, the story we didn’t get to know.

The second part is her beginning the part we get to see bits and pieces of from the other books in the series.

The third is 2 years into the semi relationship she has with Chase. She is still holding back the part of her past she thinks will ruin there relationship and in turn pushes everyone away in the end.

And the final part in this story, she finally reveals everything. And I mean everything. No spoilers here but let just say this final part with break you apart and then glue you back together.

I feel totally and complete rung out after reading this amazing book. It’s a book I couldn’t wait to read but am sad it’s over.

I find sometimes you wait so long to read a book and it gets so hyped up in you head. And then you read it and it’s a good book even great but it still leaves you a bit disappointed. Well this book won’t disappoint I don’t think there was anything in this book I would change. Epic, incredible, heartbreaking, and unforgettable.

First of all ,for my safe girls, this book is SAFE. They are separated for 18m and they're both celibate. In fact, I don't think his history was even mentioned...unless I missed it. OW drama is small. The first half of the book theyre seniors in HS so there's a petty girl who is obsessed with Chase but he despises her and puts her in her place. Quite a bit of OM drama but it's from her abuser. CHECK THE TRIGGERS.

Overall, I think I'm going to go with a 3.5. There were some things about this book that I loved and some that kind of made me go 🤔

Dislikes:
- I felt like this book was 80% about Ashley and 20% about Chase. Now, I understand that she went through most of the trauma and it was truly significant BUT aside from his brother, dad, and love for football, we really don't dive deep into chase. It's a shame because he had potential to be one of the best book boyfriends that I've read about--but I don't know enough about the guy!
-At times Ashley was a little extra in her decision making. Like okay girl--you don't have to run away from everyone in your life BC theyre about to find out what that dirty pimp made you do. Her saying goodbye to the people who cared about her so that she could disappear (to where? I don't know)---it was a little much. She was also a broken record at times.
-that damn cell phone!!! Why she held onto it for 2 years I'll never understand. I won't say more because I don't want to spoil but good grief.

I don't want to add my likes because it would cause a lot of spoilers. The things I loved the most about the book are the things that came as a surprise. I want to keep my review free of spoilers.

Sometimes, I think you meet certain characters and instantly know that their story is going to be special and touch your heart. When I was introduced to Ashley and Chase in Every Tear You Cry and saw them interact for the first time I knew that their journey was going to be one of those special ones. After I finished Every Tear You Cry, I found out that Ashley and Chase’s story hadn’t been written yet so I’ve been anxiously awaiting it ever since. I’m happy to report that their story was everything I wanted for them and more!

Things I liked:

• The Pacing: At the start of the book, I was so happy to see that we were going to get Ashley’s story from the very beginning instead of just being told what happened with the occasional flashback. We got to see her start out as a scared and beaten down by the world sixteen-year-old and turn into the strong woman she is today. Ashely’s story wasn’t easy and we got to see each step she took on her healing journey.

•The Humor: While JE’s books are always super emotional they always have some humor thrown in to help the reader make it through! And said humor typically comes in the form Grandmamma aka the crazy old bitty. She’s always meddling in her Grandbaby’s lives to help them get their happily ever afters with her interesting phrases and her trusty fly swatter.

•The Family: In this book, and all of JE’s books really, there’s a huge family aspect to the story. It’s never a question whether Ashley and Chase will have someone to be there for them if they need it. They’ll always have their family there for love, support, and advice. (And the occasion intervention if needed. *coughs* Ashley *coughs*)

•Chase: Chase is definitely my favorite hero JE has ever written! He was smitten with Ashley from the get go and he never failed to support her no matter how tough things got or let her know how much she means to him. He also wasn’t afraid to show his emotions when Ashley was telling him about the struggles of her past. He didn’t try and act tough or brave he openly shed tears over the things Ashley went through instead of hiding his feelings. *The only thing I would’ve liked more from Chase’s story is how he dealt with the guilt of what his brother went through for him. I felt like that could’ve been expanded a bit more since the two never really directly talked about it*

Overall, I really enjoyed Ashely and Chase’s story and I can’t wait to see more glimpses of them in the next few books in the series!

I don't know where to start. First, I loved this book so much. In fact, for me, its JE Parker's best book to date. But it made me cry so damn much, just when I thought I was done, I'm in floods again! Its been a long time since a book effected me that much!

We first met Ashley in a previous book when she turned up at the womens shelter a complete mess and Shelby took her under her wing, eventually adopting her. Now we knew she'd had a hard life before, but nothing prepared me for her actual story, words cannot describe how heartbreaking it was discovering her past. But mixed with these flashbacks you have this truely beautiful story of a damaged soul learning to love again, which makes you cry all over again. And Chase, his love and acceptance of her and her past just adds something special to the story that melts your broken heart. For me though the star of this book is Anthony AKA the Dadinator, OMG hot Dad alert!!! I loved him in his own book, but the way he goes all alpha protector in this one had me just drooling, not gonna lie! Then you have Grandmama, in her true crazy style making you laugh out loud and breaking up all the heavy emotional stuff that balances out this book perfectly.

You don't have to read have to read the others first, this book can be read as a standalone (but as a big JE Parker fan I say go do it anyway, you won't be sorry, this lady writes some wonderful words), it is a fantastic story just how it is. This book is heartbreakingly beautiful, with so much raw emotion. You need this on your TBR!
