Two thousand years ago, the Prophecy of Fire and Light foretold the coming of the Queen Empress who would lead the Empire into a time of peace and tranquility. But instead of the coming of a prosperous world, a forbidden love for the Empress waged a war that ravaged the land, creating a chasm between the factions, raising the death toll of innocent lives until the final, ...more

When I first read this blurb, I was like finally an NA book that sounds awesome with a good plot. And let me tell you, the book did live up to the blurb! Plus, yes, plenty of swoon. I mean, swoooooooooooooooooooon!

Dear, Alex—you were pretty badass and also had to put up with some crazy crap! Dear, Treyan—you have my heart! Dear, Reylor—you are a crazy, crazy thing, but I still like you! Does that make me a bad person? The characters were on point! Plus, I got several things that I wasn't

I want to thank everyone who has read TWO THOUSAND YEARS so far, and to those who still have it on our reading lists, I hope you enjoy it when you get to it!

This story came about in 2014 when I was looking for something to write for NaNoWriMo. I had the ideas kicking around my head for years before this, but it wasn't until the time was right almost five years ago that I was ready to put those thoughts down to paper, so to speak. And thus, The Empire was born.

That being said, TWO THOUSAND YEARS

This book is everything my life amd beyond.
It's not one of those books that you exactly have to relate to to love. It just grabs you by the collar and makes you adore its every single page.

This may be a pet peeve of mine, but I don't like purple prose unless it's used to describe something that seems

If you loved the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, you are not going to be able to put this book down.

Before we even get into the book, I wanted to say a few things about the cover. There is so much going on here but not in a distracting or “too-busy” way. We’re able to see both the skyline of the Empire and Boston as well as the clock which ties in to the 2000 year old prophecy. I think it meshes several of the story elements in a very elegant and beautiful fashion. Had I not received the

I am not an author and can only imagine what truly goes into creating a novel so I tread lightly with reviews like this. I wanted to fall into this story and love every second of it but could not get proper footing. There are numerous grammatical errors that took away from my reading pleasure. For me having to re-read sentences to grasp what is occurring is aggravating. I am not sure if it was the errors or the characters themselves but I could not connect with the MCs. I was expecting a strong, ...more

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**Two Thousand Years is the first book in the Empire Saga by author M. Dalto. The Empire Saga is a new adult fantasy romance, my very favorite kind! I really enjoyed two Thousand years and I can already tell that The Empire Saga is going to be a series that I will love! I am already itching to get my hands on the next book! I don't see too many new adult fantasy's but it is one of my very favorite genres, especially ...more

The premise of this book was intriguing but we were quickly disappointed by the lead characters. What should have been a finished book read like a draft because of the many grammatical errors. That aside, the characters are diluted versions of more famous (existing) YA characters, so this read like a sort of fanfiction of (bonus points to who finds the name of the book *hint* it's Em's favorite book).

We were going to type up a full review but here is one thing prospective readers should note:

** Beforehand: I was granted a free copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion by The Parliament House **

First of all, I’ve been surprised by how intriguing the story is and even more how much I developed to feel for the characters. That attachment especially to one character came 100% unexpected and I’m still not sure where it came from, not entirely at least. Summed up, this definitely is a 4-star read and it actually had potential to get 5 stars. There were two reasons which made me

Thank you to Xpresso Book Tours, for the arc of this wonderful book!
I loved it!
What a great story, it held me from the get go, a strong female lead, with Alex, with a little love story with Treylan, nice to have the love without the smut!
And of course an evil villain, (there needs to be a bad guy!)
I can’t wait to see where this series goes, hopefully the wait won’t be too long.
Did I mention that I loved this book?

I received a free copy of this book through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

This book had such an interesting premise but unfortunately it didn't work for me. Sadly I was bored throughout the whole story and was thinking to dnf it.
So what went wrong? It was very underdeveloped in my opinion, the characters, the world, the story line itself.
Main character Alex is 22 years old, yet she behaves worse than a 16 year old. She gets taken to this world where she is the Empress (for some reason) She

TW: rape, mention of abortion, general stupid bitch energy.

There was an attempt, but I can't say that it was a very successful one. That is particularly sad because I was enjoying it in the beginning, but it got progressively worse and worse.

Everything about this book was enjoyable at first. I never thought that it was going to be anything groundbreaking, but it had a certain charm that kept me reading. While the writing and the plot wasn't that great, I was certainly hooked with how things were

I was given an e-book copy of this book by The Parliament House in exchange for an honest review.

I don't really know what to think about Two Thousand Years. Few things I liked and lot of things I disliked. I thought the entire book was very undeveloped, the characters don't have much depth and I found it hard to get attached to them. Also the relationship between the two main characters was so rushed! Right away they feel pulled towards each other and right after being kidnapped by this cocky

I had a lot of problems with this book, one of them was with the main character; Alex. She is transported to this foreign world, essentially kidnapped by this guy yet her first instinct is not to run, it’s to have a conversation with the guy who kidnapped her. He repeatedly knocks her and then declares that they are too marry - this time she freaks out. But when he catches her again, she’s all ‘confused’ about why he makes her feel ‘safe’.

Just to top it off, when said guy is shaking her about

This novel is hard for me to rate. There were many things that I enjoyed about this story but also things that I felt either didn't fit well into the plot or just happened too fast?

I guess the pacing was weird for me. A lot happened but at the same time a lot didn't happen. I'm sure that doesn't make sense at all.

What I enjoyed was the prophecy and girl being swept away into another world and a destiny. I enjoyed the dynamics of twin brothers; being at the heart of the story as well...one

I did um and ah a little before requesting Two Thousand Years on NetGalley. The premise sounded good, but I was on the fence. In the end the good reviews decided me, but sadly I didn't feel the book in the way those readers did. First off, the good points. I really enjoyed the set up of the story, with a normal young woman swept out of her life and taken to another realm to fulfill a prophecy. It had all the makings of a great tale. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to care much about the ...more

I have *feelings* about this book. First off, I couldn't put it down. And when I had to in order to do productive things that adults have to do, it was all I could think about. It kept me up until 3:30 in the morning the other night because I simply couldn't leave it. One more chapter, indeed.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I liked the setting and premise of this book — I like the idea of a seemingly regular girl actually belonging to another world, and the whole idea of fulfilling a prophecy. It's a well-established idea but it has so many possible endings that could go along with it. However, I felt that the relationship between Alex and Treyan developed too quickly; it felt like a case of insta-love, which I disliked. It made me feel disconnected from them as characters. Treyan

Two Thousand Years is the kind of book that you pick up and binge read all at once. This is a dark fantasy full of romance, adventure, and heartbreak. It's New Adult - but I do think that mature YA readers would enjoy it as well!

The Empire is a beautifully crafted world - M. Dalto gives us enough world building to see the beauty (and the darkness) of this alternate universe, without using excessive detail.

The characters are phenomenal, and the villain is one of those that you probably won't be

I felt some mixed opinions about this book. The pacing of the book seemed a bit off. There were some moments that were very well-explained and detailed, and others that happened so quickly I didn't even notice it. I couldn't connect to the beginning of the story at ALL until I reached about halfway through. Fortunately, then the plot begin to pick up a bit more and I was hooked. Wow this book! The synopsis doesn’t give it any justice. I was sucked in from the very first page and even after i closed the book saying finished.
There is so much suspense in this book that you can’t help but turn each page to find out more. The details in the book are done so well you feel like you are really there following the story with your own eyes.
I loved Treyan. I definitely think there are things we haven’t found out about him but i feel deep in my core that he is good no matter what.

An intricate collation of world-building, and characterisation, M. Dalto has provided a novel which intrigues, and challenges. Pushing boundaries, and yet, settling neatly within them. With a writing-style that borders on addictive, this series has carefully constructed something lasting, within the novel world.

It was surprising, the intrigue this novel developed, with room to develop and grow into itself further than it already is. While it follows your basic tropes, it also diverts in the

I loved the premise of this book and even though there were a few familiar tropes, it didn’t get in the way of the plot. Plus, I love tropes if executed properly. Not only that but it’s New Adult which I don’t read enough of and need to. Dalto does an excellent job of world building although I needed more from the characters themselves. I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for the future.

It's a good read with an interesting world but I struggled to find the characters very genuine and in the end I couldn't decide wether or not I actually even liked the book. So I would recommend it mostly to see what the general consensus on it is.
I will read the next ones definetely but I'm not holding my breath.

Going into this book, I hadn't expected to enjoy it as much as I did. I've had a lot of hit and misses when it comes to books this year and have been leaning towards contemporaries when it comes to reading for myself.
I loved how fierce Alex was throughout the book and I found myself cheering her on. She was a very likable main character and so was Treyan. I didn't care for Reylon's character but there were parts that made me not completely hate him so there's that?
