Rate this book
A town's checkered history with a vengeful privateer. An invalid's obsession with his missing foot. A care home assistant laying down the heat. A bizarre priest with a teenage daughter. A government agent seeking his missing employee. And a protector who finds he's a witch’s next lover. Join Austerley & Kirkgordon in their second full-length adventure at the English seaside town of Dillingham. Resting before Austerley's prosthetic foot operation, the boys find a lingering presence trying to take back the town that destroyed it. Ghosts, witches, a redoubtable librarian, monsters aplenty and a descent into hell all add up to give the team more headaches than they can handle. This is one vacation they'll never book again. Dillingham, you'll age fifty years in a night!

This book in the continuing series of Austerley & Kirkgordon by G.B. Jordan certainly entertains fans of magic and paranormal and witches and monsters, this book has them all, and then some. Without giving anything away, I wonder how many times each of the readers of this book will shake their heads and tell the characters "don't do that" or "don't fall for that", I know I certainly did, more than once. The action is intense and violent. The suspense of the ending is pretty damn good. Oh by the way, the reader should be prepared for a doozie of a cliffhanger ending leading into the next book. They are a team, and they work for a top secret organization known as SETAA. Austerly is an expert in the occult, Kirkgordon is the muscle, they are in Dillingham for a little rest, or so they believe. A colleague was investigating strange occurrences in the small sea side town, and has gone missing.
Fascinating, unique, and laugh out loud funny characters. A strange priest, his daughter, the town historian, as well as the men who work for SETAA, will battle ghostly pirates, a dragon, an evil witch, and many other fantastical magical creatures to save Dillingham from hell.

I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

Another riveting read! Can't wait for book 3. The story grips you right from page 1 and is very hard to put down.

Strang things brew up in town. From old tales of curses to the people ageing over night.
Have Austerley and kirkgordon come to town just in time to help the resident of the town from the evil that has come. Can't wait for book 3.
