Rancher’s Wild Secret - 4 stars!
This book is my first adult romance read and it was great! Emerson's dad is funny with his comment on the pound sign instead of hashtags. My thought exactly when I first saw it years ago. I like the fast paced and easy to read writing style. Adult romance sure don't beat around the bushes. They go after what they want. It reminds me of why I prefer to read YA because I enjoyed the shyness and flirt. I like the forbidden love though the love and the sex happen pre ...more

I have some mixed feelings about this book. It is definitely very, very steamy, but the first novel in it deals with some complicated issues in a way that made it hard for me to get on board (blackmail/control leading to marriage/intercourse). Anyway, I will briefly review each novel below.
RANCHER'S WILD SECRET primarily follows Emerson, the social media/PR ambassador for her family's winery. She is engaged to a man with whom she has no chemistry in a business match for her father. Whoe ...more

Rancher's Wild Secret definitely kept me captivated for the whole of the story. Emerson is a 'yes, daddy, whatever you need, daddy' kind of girl. Her relationship with her father is one she thinks she needs to breathe, including agreeing to marry a man she doesn't love (or even sleep with) for the betterment of their family winery. She is willing to do anything to improve their standing for the family winery, until a new ranchhand shows up in the vineyard and she can't stop thinking about him.

Hot and steamy. Rancher's Wild Secret is a really enjoyable romance about a woman marrying a man her father doesn't approve of. It's sexy and unexpected and I loved it.
Emerson is always looking to please her father. She is even engaged to a man that she has no feelings for. When she meets a ranch hand named Holden, he takes her breath away. He is interesting, hot, and dominating.
They have a mutual attraction but Holden is keeping a huge secret. After a night of passion, he reveals his true inte ...more

Rancher's Wild Secret is another great read by Maisey Yates. It is fun to watch Emerson Maxfield and Holden McCall as they travel a bumpy road to find their happy ever after.
Hold Me, Cowboy, the second story in this book, is a reissue by Maisey Yates. I had read it previously and it was even better the second time around. I never hesitate to pick up a book by Maisey Yates as she never lets me down. ...more

Holden is quite honest, "...I try to make my *** life no one’s business but mine and the lady I’m naked with.” Holden tends to point out obvious things, “you hate me so much you climbed on me at least five times last night.” I liked this book, I liked Holden.
