Maybe moving from explaining a text editor and file extensions to talking about programming languages and mobile development is too much in one go.

This is a very good book for an introduction to computer technology. Current and up-to-date information.

Very basic almost insulting that it was required reading at the University level. Perhaps others may find some value, I did not.

Very basic almost insulting that it was required reading at the University level. Reviewing course work for introductory students and was surprised to see this book remains on the required reading list for CS students... little has change and it is still too basic IMO for CS students
