Mr Dana came from a Scholarly perspective to view the life of Watchman Nee....His analysis was dry and clinical; and it was not uplifting at all. It is very hard to right a thesis on a subject when you were not an eyewitness of it. I believe that most of the Christians who engaged with Watchman and his ministry would have find his life and work uplifting and it would have help them to break through into the spiritual life.

The book is worthwhile to read but do not expect much from it.

Oh, the irony... Reading a book about "Understanding Watchman Nee" written by a person who doesn't seem to really understand his teachings...
