I wasn't 100% sure what this book would be about, but it had sounded exciting and ended up being a favorite trope of mine. Six years ago, Reale Lynxx was on the rise to becoming the biggest music star around and was happily in love with his girlfriend Amanda who had dreams of becoming a nurse. One day when a scout arrives, Amanda gets some news which causes her to make a sacrifice, and she walks out on Reale. Six years later, Reale is a big star, and Amanda has a cute little five years old named ...more

I received this book for free from the YA Bound Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Will Johnny's parents get back together?
The Risk of Happiness: The Punk Rocker by Cathrine Goldstein is a brilliant book about second chances at love. The two main characters struggle to find their path to co-parenting but trusting each other with their hearts is more difficult. I was rooting for Amanda and Reale to get back togeth

The book has so many “feels” and hit so many emotional points for me, I don’t’ know where to begin with this review!
I’ve been a big fan of Cathrine’s Goldstein’s work since The Letting, but this latest addition to the New York Artists’ series is – in my humble opinion – her best work to date.

Amanda Simmons and up and coming punk rocker Reale Lynxx ooze sensuality and hotness from the pages of this story. We meet them, first, on a night that will change both of their lives forever. Amanda does th

The Risk of Happiness has my two of my favorite things:
A sexy musician.
A second chance for romance.
I have read the first book (Summer of Irreverence: The Rock Star) and only recently got myself a copy of the second book (To Be or Not To Be: The Actors). So my excitement for this book was over the moon. There isn't a single negative thing I can say about this book. It had everything you would want. I love Reale (*coughs* he needs to be REAL), Amanda and her little boy. They are the perfect bunch.

I loved the first book in Cathrine Goldstein’s “New York Artist Series”, so I jumped at the chance to read an advanced copy of the latest installment in the series. The Risk of Happiness did not disappoint.
This book also turned out to be another one of my favorite romance reads––the story of a second-chance at love. Amanda and Reale had been in a serious relationship when he was an up-and-coming punk rocker. Now he’s a rock superstar, and Amanda is a single mom and diner waitress on Long Island.

Amanda stood next to her beach chair shouting to her five year old son who was too close to the water’s edge. Amanda hated the water. So why were they vacationing on the beach? Because her best friend jessica/jess offered her the tiny vacation home on Fire Island for the week. Johnny didn’t hear her so she started across the beach. He was having the time of his life on his first vacation. Jess told her often she was a helicopter mom and she needed to let Johnny grow up. And she would as soon as ...more

3 1/2 Stars!

Reale and Mandy were in love long before he became a rock star. In fact, just before his stardom hit, Mandy left him because she was pregnant and didn’t want him to give up his career for her and a kid. Six years later they accidentally meet again ... only this time Reale isn’t going to let her go. But will Reale be able to forgive Mandy When he finds out Johnny is his son?

Mandy and Reale just couldn’t get it together at the same time. This book started out with lots of angst and sur
