Gone Missing was the first book in Jami Davenport’s spin off series, the Gone Missing Detective Agency. We met Bronson in Davenport’s Seattle Sockeye series, Shot on Goal, as Drew Delacourt’s best friend who owned a PI business.

Bronson was a former seal and a tough, blue collar, lay it out like it is guy. He used his military and life experiences to form his own PI agency to find missing persons. He had a very small circle of friends and family and kept his walls firmly in place to avoid any additional attachments.

Becca was a privileged, affluent woman who had no real life experiences beyond spending her father’s money. Her father had recently disappeared and she hired Bronson to find him, thus the story began.

Becca and Bronson had nothing in common.... literally, nothing. Opposites attract so it wasn’t a stretch to see them together and I liked both characters; however, I never could really feel the connection. I craved a little more feeling and attachment between the two. And although I loved the suspenseful plot, it moved a little too slow for me. There were several cases but they all crawled at a snails pace and the storyline became the mundane routine of the characters versus an actual storyline. Once the storyline began moving, near the last quarter of the book, then I couldn’t put it down. For me, I would have preferred more significant detail as the story progressed. Additionally, no spoilers so no elaboration, but there was one storyline that was left hanging. I preferred at least to have some acknowledgement that we would hear more as the series progressed; however, I’m not sure that’s the direction, so it left me desiring more knowledge.

Otherwise, Gone Missing was well written and entertaining. It was Davenport’s first attempt at a mystery based series and I applaud her on her maiden voyage. I loved the secondary characters, the family that was created and the PI based suspenseful plot. Kudos to Davenport. The series has great promise and I look forward to seeing where she leads us next.

Intriguing romantic suspense…

Gone Missing was an intriguing romantic suspense with engaging characters and a pleasing writing style. Becca and Bronson were brought together by a common goal. Two people from opposite sides of the money scale but love and friendship had them teamed up to solve a murderous mystery…

I felt this was a quiet book. One which didn’t have dramatic highs and lows but a steady string of conflict and scenes that kept me interested all the way through. The characters played off each other well, including seconding players like Purr and Jason who always made me smile. Despite the seriousness of the secrets they uncovered this was not a dark read in my mind but instead a murder mystery with elements of entertaining romance.

A good solid read which will have me coming back for more.

5 star Review Gone Missing (Gone Missing Detective Agency #1) by Jami Davenport

I have read numerous books from Jami Davenport and this one is totally unlike anything I have previously read. This is romantic suspense and what an introduction Gone Missing is to her latest series.

Bronson Warner is a private investigator working out of Seattle. When Becca Gatlinburg comes to him for help, neither of them know just how much there lives will be changed forever.

As Becca deals with a father that is missing and a brother and fiance who are plotting to kill her she and Bronson and thrown together more and more.

The banter between Bronson and Becca was entertaining and it was interesting to see how far Bronson would go to protect her and her family. The chemistry was intense and I was thoroughly engaged in the story that Ms.Davenport wove.

Can Bronson and Becca overcome their obvious differences and learn to trust one another, or is it doomed from the start?

Gone Missing has suspense, drama, danger, intrigue and some smoking hot scenes and I thoroughly enjoyed the direction that this story took.

I am looking forward to reading more in this new series in the near future.

Gone Missing by Jami Davenport is a little bit of a romanance/ mystery with a dash of suspense thrown in for good measure. Bronson is a PI working in the Seattle area who is investigating a missing person when Becca walks into his office and into his life. She hires him as a PI and the pair finds themselves spending a lot of time together. The sexual tension is present as is a forbidden romance vibe (client-professional relationship and all), and there are some definite twists and turns that keep this book interesting. The characters are great, and the story was good. This was written in more of a 3rd person style which I think makes it harder to feel like you know the characters and it takes me a little bit longer to get into the groove with, but overall, good read.

I've enjoyed Gone Missing so much,it was brilliant and engaging and it kept me in suspense from start to end.

Becca is a wealthy heiress and Bronson is a private investigator, the two of them can't come from two more different worlds but they meet when they need each other's help in order to find her missing father and a young guy.
I loved to read how they get closer chapter after chapter, their banters entertaining and the sexy times are hot hot hot.

I know Jami Davenport for her beautiful sports romances, but I really appreciated her new adventure with this new sub genre.

Gone Missing

I really enjoyed this first book in Jami Davenport's new series. Took me a couple of minutes to realize that I recognized Bronson from one of the hockey books, but then it made me even more anxious to read it. If this first story is what I have to look forward to, then I can't wait for the next book to come out.

I loved this new series by Jami Davenport. The added mystery to the hot romance made an exciting story. As well as the hot chemistry brewing between Becca and Bronson the plot had all the suspense and intrigue that made it a thrilling read.
The writing was intense and flawlessly done, I enjoyed it immensely.
Definitely a must read. I highly recommend it!

Ex Special Forces turned Private Investigator, Bronson Warner doesn’t form attachments. People can’t be trusted and they usually leave. He enjoys his few close friends and solitary life. When he agrees to take on Rebecca Galbraith’s case, he has no idea just how much his life is about to change.

Socialite Rebecca Galbraith’s father is missing, and she’s overheard conversations between her brother and his right hand man that leave her wondering if foul play was involved. She turns to Bronson for proof that it’s her imagination getting the best of her and to find her missing father.

When Bronson suggests a marriage of convenience so he can have an in with Becca’s brother, neither was prepared for the physical attraction and friendship that followed. As they grow closer, the unexpected arrival of two teenagers are added to the mix. With an expiration date to their marriage looming, both Becca and Bronson are wondering if they have to go back to the way things were once the case is solved.

Bronson never wanted a wife or family, but now he has both . . . and he’s not letting them go! As danger mounts, he’ll do anything he needs to in order to keep them safe.

Gone Missing is truly an opposites attract romance. Becca and Bronson could not have come from more opposite social backgrounds. They don’t even really like each other upon first meeting, but the more time they spend together the hotter their attraction burns, finally growing into so much more.

Bron may seem emotionally unavailable, but it is his way of protecting himself. And, he is such a protector. I loved watching him learn to love both Becca and the teens who need his help. I also loved watching Becca turn from a socialite who spent her days with idle pursuits into a socially responsive individual and the person who brings family to Bronson.

The side characters in this book are just as phenomenal. Fans will recognize Drew from prior books and Purr is one of the most amazing characters I’ve ever read. Andy and Keagan also added a fantastic element to the book.

This story has it all . . romance, major suspense and plot twists with the multiple cases Bronson is working including the disappearance of Becca’s father as well as the teens missing person’s case. It was a truly fabulous start to this new series. 5 stars!

After overhearing her brother and fiance plotting to kill her because of what she knows about the family business, Rebecca realizes the only choice she has is to run. With her own family making plans to get rid of her, and her father's mysterious disappearance, she knows she can't rely on anyone around her. With danger settling in, and not knowing who to trust, she finds herself turning to an unlikely source for strength and protection, a sexy private investigator named Bronson Warner. This little union spawns a surprising plan and steamy adventure neither saw coming!

Gone Missing is thrilling little page-turner that will have you teetering on the edge of your seat the whole way through! This unlikely pairing brings excitement, wit, and steam to the pages, the moment you meet them you will become enamored with them. Normally when I settle down with a title from this author I'm about to read one of her sexy sports stars, but this newest venture strays away from the field and ice, and takes you to a suspenseful and slightly vengeful place. I really enjoyed this new adventure, the pages were riddled with mystery, romance, and a little feisty banter mixed in here and there, it was engaging and satisfying! I can't wait to see what she has planned for these sexy detectives next!! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Ms Davenport is an author I've enjoyed reading in the past, especially her books featuring Seattle based athletes. I was curious to see her take on a romantic suspense, especially after meeting Bronson, our detective hero, in a previous book.
Stylistically, this isn't that different from the other books of Ms. Davenport's that I have read. The blurb made the book sound dark and a little scaring, but it's really not. I'm not actually sure this is a true romantic suspense, it seems more a romance with a suspenseful sub plot.
I enjoyed Gone Missing, it was an entertaining story told in broad strokes and avoiding diving too deeply. Character development issues are dealt with and we see both Becca and Bronson evolve into stronger individuals that are easy to root for.
There were a couple of things that kept this from being a higher rated book for me. The first is the differences between the blurb and the actual story line of the book. I feel like I decided to read one book, but got something slightly different. The second thing that caused the story to have a lower rating was a giant plot hole at the very beginning of the story. While I understood the reasoning why Becca and Bronson entered into the relationship they did, a key conversation was missing from the story.
Overall, this a story worth reading, it just isn't my favorite from Ms. Daveport

(3.75 stars)

When Becca's father goes missing, she hires a PI, Bronson, in hopes to get some answers. The more she overhears the worse matters seem to get, now she is suspecting her brother, Becca is starting to feel like maybe it's her that is going crazy. Bronson took Becca's case, but now he is regretting it a bit, especially now that they have decided to get married in hopes to find out more info. A marriage that is to last 6 months, just long enough to hopefully get the case solved and then they separate, sounds easy enough. That is until feelings start getting involved, threats start coming out of the woodwork, and two kids show up on their doorstep. The easy situation that Bronson thought he had, is now way more complicated than he ever thought it would.

This is my first read by Jami Davenport, and this turned out to be an ok read. This focus' more on the mystery and issues that come from Bronson taking the case and very little on the romance aspect. It was almost as if the author forgot it was a romance but realized she had to throw some in there at certain times. I prefer a bit more romance and naughty bits in my stories, but for something that was mostly a suspense story this wasn't half bad. This gets 3.75 stars.

Gone Missing was my first book by this author, but it will not be my last! I loved this book and the characters. Not only were the main characters, Becca and Bronson amazing, but the other characters we get to meet throughout the story quickly grew on me.

Full of drama, suspense and mystery this book really does have it all. There is chemistry between Becca and Bronson right from the start and while the two start out pretending to be in a relationship in order to solve the mystery of Becca's missing father it quickly grows into something real.

The main problem I had about giving this book 5 stars was the misleading synopsis. It says that Becca is dealing with a marriage of convenience and over hears her fiance plotting to kill her. Neither of these things happen anywhere in this book. While I think the story didn't really need that to happen in order for it to work, it would have been nice to know more about this if that was actually the case.

Overall, this was a book that kept me hooked from start to finish. It had me on the edge of my seat more than once and had me constantly guessing what was going to happen next. I was left with a few questions when it was over, so it would have been nice to have more things cleared up before it came to an end. - By ALisa

Have you ever read an author and get a feel for their writing. I can literally pick up any Jami Davenport book and know it was her writing. Gone Missing had me look at the book cover several times because I was not sure I read it right. This book blew me away and I am excited that it was written by Jami. I am a huge fan and loved Becca and Bronson.

The suspense will bring the angst. Bronson is a new favorite and I loved the chemistry he has with Becca. But there is the drama brewing and you are not quite sure where their story will lead.

Gone Missing is a spicy suspense that will keep you glued to each page. I had to know what would eventually happen with these two! A definite must read. I am excited to see what more we will get from this new series.

When Rebecca shows up at Bronson office he is shocked to see her ,and  she starts to tell him about her missing father and the conversation between CJ and Randall. She wants answers and wants him to find out for her.

What neither seen coming when the woke that morning was by the end of the day they would be planning on getting married.

Gone Missing by Jami Davenport is book one in her Gone Missing Detective Agency Series and tells the story of Bronson and Becca.
Becca - Rebecca - Galbraith is a heiress and her family is in bed with the mob. Her life is a mess and she strok a deal that she now regrets.
Bronson Warner is a former special forces expert, now turned PI with main focus on missing people. He's rough around the edges, loves his life like it is and abhorrs when someone meddles with his belongings. He' set in his ways and when whirlwind Becca comes in his life he's not amused. He tries to avoid her, but to no avail. Against all odds they have crazy through the roof high chemistry and they act on it. O boy there are some serious hot scenes to be read.
Gone Missing is written in the rare third POV and it took me some time to get ito, not the story and the characters, they're great.
And at the end of the story, whom I greatly enjoyed was only one question, what about Clyde Warner? Where is he and waht happened to him? I need to know pretty please.

With her father missing Rebecca assumes something is going on in her family and Rebecca needs to find out what before she becomes the next victim. After overhearing a conversation between her brother and her fiancé it only makes her more suspicious and she knows that she needs help to uncover the truth.

Bronson is a PI with a military background. When Rebecca approaches him for help he suggests a temporary marriage of convenience as that would explain his presence in her life so that they can uncover the truth. Things are about to get very complicated when their marriage is starting to feel real and now they have two teenagers to protect as well.

Suspense, twists, heat and great characters all combine into a story that has you hoping that Bronson and Rebecca will have their happy ever after.

I kindly received an arc for an honest review

Wow, that was a different book from Jami Davenport than her usually sports romances. But it’s oh so good!
Very interesting, exciting.
Rebecca is a young lady, coming from money. Her dad is missing for a while now and she’s going to the PI Bronson for help finding her farther. She realizes she can’t trust anyone, especially in her family, after overhearing her brother talking to his assistant.
Great story, with a mistery. Can it be solved? Well you have to read by yourself! No spoilers here 😏
I really enjoyed this book, and if you like a good suspense romance , this is the right book for you!

I absolutely love this new series. Bronson starts his detective agency and when he gets wind there is some shady dealings going on with one of the wealthiest families he starts digging. Becca is part of this family but has no clue what is going on she just knows he dad has disappeared and she has no clue why or where he is.. When Becca goes to Bronson for help finding her dad they make a pact to help Bronson get more on the inside.. I mean how hard can it be to be married for 6 months to find out the truth? When more twists and turns come into play can Bronson keep Becca safe and will he ultimately fall in love?

This book truly surprised me, but in a good way. At first I didnt think I was going to like Becca . She's a spoiled brat living in a made up world. Then she decides to take control of her life. And the person she's learning to become is a worthy woman. That person is perfect for Bronson. She challenged him in ways he didnt know he needed. She made life interesting for him and made him want things he didn't know he wanted. And together they made a great team fighting for truth and people less fortunate. Even if the truth hurts.

Absolutely loving this new series by Jami Davenport!!! It has all the fixings for a page turner, suspense, intrigue, romance, unpredictability and humour.

Bronson is a private detective that is hired by Becca to find out why her brother and fiancé want to kill her and locate her father. They are both from different worlds and their banter is wonderful. The steaming scenes are pretty good too!!

I truly enjoyed that this story is different from anything I have read and the characters are a hit. A few times I felt there needed a little more depth to their story but overall it was a great book and a definite one click.

This is a total take away from what Jami usually writes. It took me a bit to get into this one. The story was great, just slow at the intake, maybe too much back and forth with the same thing... just something.

That being said, I can see this series as a great one, totally not sports related coming from Seattle. The characters that were established in previous series will be built up with great stories. Love the bit of suspense with awesome romance.

Looking forward to more.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.

This is Becca and Bronson’s story. Becca over hears a plot to kill her. Not by a stranger but her very own brother and her fiancé. She runs to Bronson for help. She needs to figure out why and also what happened to her father since he has disappeared also. She needs all the help she can get can Bronson help her? If he can just how far is he willing to help her? Will he step up and fill all the roles she needs him too? What happens when danger is near? Will he help out? What about all the chemistry between them can they fight that or should they just give in?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Bronson Warner is a PI who works mostly on cases pro-bono. A retired special forces guy, his goal in life now is to serve and protect those who can protect themselves or who need that person who can give them the support they need. He is over encumbered with cases, but he hates to refuse anyone who comes to him looking for his help. He has a small circle of friends and a twin brother that are his family, but he doesn’t let people in easily. A result of his father’s serial marriages and lack of care for the kids he fathered with each wife. His latest case could be the case that changes his life and brings chaos to his life.

Becca Galbraith is a young woman who has skated through life without a care in the world. She was born rich and has never had to work for anything in her life. She was always daddy’s little girl and knew that anything she wanted she could have. She is spoiled and entitled, but the disappearance of her father and a death in his inner circle causes her to question her entire life and family. She needs answers and will go as far as she can to find them. She hires Bronson and they concoct a scheme to get answers, but their scheme could back fire on them.

I liked this book. It was suspenseful and a great story of two people who will go to the ends of the earth to protect the ones they love and to find out the truth of what is going on. Bronson and Becca bring out the best parts of each other and they are a great team.

This was a new writing trope for Jami Davenport, as most of her stories are sports romance, sexy contemporary, or new adult. Gone Missing is her new series and her foray into Romantic Suspense. She has done a great job with it. The pages turned easily and quickly in this story and kept my interest all the way through. I give Gone Missing a 4-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy Romantic Suspense, alpha males who will do anything to protect the ones he loves, and women who are sassy, classy and strong.

Basically entertaining story that didn’t work on every level

Suspense romance is one of my go-to genres, and I’d read and enjoyed a couple of books by this author before, so I thought I’d give this a shot. Note that this series is a spinoff of the author’s Seattle Sockeyes series, with the main character from book 8 carrying over as a secondary character here. I haven’t read Drew’s book, but didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything.

I liked the setup here with the fake marriage (a favorite trope of mine) and there was plenty of chemistry between Becca and Bronson. I also got a bit of a film noir vibe that I enjoyed, with the whole PI and classy dame in danger part of the setup. I really liked some of the secondary characters, too (I especially loved Purr! 😂), which helped add to the book.

That said, I had a little trouble getting into the story, mostly I think because I didn’t find Becca particularly relatable, and there were times I didn’t particularly like Bronson, either. As a result the book dragged a bit for me, which isn’t unusual when I don’t really care about the characters. While Becca did show some character growth, and I started to like her better, I would have liked a little more time spent on WHY she changed—it just felt kind of superficial to me.

So I guess I’m on the fence with this one. As a first effort in a new genre for this author, there was a lot of potential in a basically entertaining story that didn’t quite work for me on every level. 3.5 stars

Gone Missing was a great story that kept me on the edge of my seat by the talented Jami Davenport. It all starts when Becca overhears her brother talking about something that kind of hints at murder. She talks herself out of it, thinking that she's just being dramatic, but when a woman who worked for her father, also missing, is found dead the next morning, she's decided that she may not mistaken any longer. So she hunts down the PI who has been harassing her, and hires him to figure things out, but the only thing they can do to get him close enough is to get married. Bronson never thought he would end up married, since the last thing he ever wanted was to be a groom, but that's exactly what has happened, and although it's in name only, it's becoming harder to not think of Becca as just a case. Things get even more complicated when he becomes a father to a couple of teenagers as well. Yeah this story was insane, and hilarious as well. The cast of secondaries were off the wall colorful, and I almost loved them more than Becca & Bronson. Well, maybe not Becca, but the broody Bronson for sure, as he really needed that color for his cranky self. There were tons of twists around every corner, and I really loved how Becca rolled with the punches, even when she was liable to go off half cocked. I just had a few questions left about the teenagers father, but hopefully those will be answered in the next book in this awesome new series. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Gone Missing is the newest book from a favorite author of mine. I am used to her spicy sports romance and this is a new direction for her-romantic suspense. I for one think she did a very good job of blending the suspense into a romance.

Rebecca’s father has disappeared and she has been getting calls from a local PI asking to talk to her but she’s been avoiding him. After she overhears a scary and incriminating conversation between her brother and his friend , she seeks out Bronson, the PI for his help. Thus begins a twisted tale of trafficking, murder, and deception which includes a classic romance trope...the convenient marriage. Bronson and Becca marry when they realize that is the only way to integrate him into her family without too much suspicion.

For spoiled rich girl Rebecca, living in a small apartment over Bronson’s office and not having her normal pampered lifestyle is a shock. Add to that her concerns about her dad, her brother threatening her, and her mother being in la la land, Rebecca finds herself becoming emotionally involved with her faux husband.

Secondary characters include trans lawyer Purr, Jason ( Bronson’s twin) and a character from the Seattle Sockeyes hockey team, Drew. All of these characters add important parts to the solving of the disappearance of Rebecca’s dad and the disturbing situation he was enmeshed in.

As much as I look forward to more hunky sports hero stories, I’m hoping she has more of this genre up her sleeve as it was an enjoyable read.

This is the first book into an awesome new series for Jami who is known for her sports romance. She has taken a character, or 3, out of her hockey series to start this new one. I think that this is going to be another wonderful but suspenseful series for Jami. I will admit that this one started out a bit slow and took a couple chapters to really grab my attention but once it did I was hooked and couldn't put it down.

This is a true story of opposites attract but in a good way! Bronson is a PI and former military with the typical non typical childhood that has him jaded. Becca with a seemingly good and very privileged childhood. She floats along in life until she hears something that she didn't understand and her father abandons her family. She seeks out Bronson's help and then they concoct a plan for a fake marriage for Bronson to help find her father. Enter into the relationship a niece and nephew of one of Bronson's half-brothers from a wayward father. This makes for a perfectly imperfect family that includes Purr and Bronson's twin Jason. Bronson and Becca fall in love along the way and find they don't want to end the marriage or the family. I cannot wait to see what happens in their future in the next books in the series. I especially want to see Purr get her own book!

I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see the next ones in the series! I was offered this as an ARC for an honest review.
