I love Rowan yarns and their knitting and crochet designs and this book, published in 1987, really captures the look of knitwear in the 1980s, particularly from the British point of view. (I was surprised that there was nothing from Patricia Roberts, but I guess she wasn't a Rowan designer.) The shapes are boxy, the colors are exuberant, and many include complex stitch textures. It would take a bit of pruning to get the silhouettes down to 21st century standards but that would be so much less knitting! This is fun to see what knitwear was about in that era.

1980s in full force in this knitting pattern book.
Big bulky shapeless 80's filled with complicated prints and hairspray.
'Topkapi Flower Jacket' is a bulky shapeless cardi with a white foreground with large paisley prints all over is an example of what you'll find in this book.
I just enjoy looking at the pictures and reminiscing about my childhood, which means that I seriously doubt that I will make any of these sweaters, cardigans or jackets. These are patterns from 'famous' knitting designers

Some amazing designs, most too high fashion for everyday wear. Good book for inspiration and some items could be wearable with some changes.
