The Vampires' Fae #2

Seduced by Blood

Rate this book
I once was told vampires are immortal but not invincible. I’m about to find out how true that is.

Thrust deep into the politics and intrigue of vampire society, I’m doing my best to keep my head above water and prove I belong here.

But the threat from the shades is growing. Inside the castle walls, whispers and stares follow me everywhere I go, and I'm pretty sure the king wants me dead.

The three vampire men who saved my life are the only ones I trust.

So why don’t they seem to trust themselves around me?

This is book two in The Vampires' Fae Series, a medium-burn reverse harem story intended for ages 18+. This book contains strong language, sexual situations, magical threats, and a heroine who doesn't have to choose between her men.

Book three coming January 17, 2019.

Maybe I'm just being picky but oh well, SEDUCED BY BLOOD just was not working for me. I still liked Willow as a lead but while I enjoy a badass FMC, it has to make sense. This woman has never fought anything before becoming a vampire and yes she did some training with Malcom in book 1 but now she can suddenly take down super strong vampires and giants and she can wield swords and axes with perfect accuracy when she's never even used one before? Not very likely.

Additionally, the whole vampire trials feels like it's taking up too much page time. I get why King Carrick is making Willow do the trials, but as a reader it feels like we've completely abandoned the plot from book 1 with the shades and the weird sisters. And up to 50% we still have hardly any relationship development between Willow and the guys. I'm bored.

The book overall was great and I can’t wait to read the next one. However I currently want to strangle Malcom.. I feel like this book is like the climb on a roller coaster before a huge drop and I can only imagine what’s in store for the next book.

I don't know how I feel about this one. It was nice to read honestly. But I was still missing something. I think it's because when you read a RH, you want to have smut, and it felt like it was nice, but still a bit superficial. I don't know, I guess it's kind of difficult for me to read these genre now that Broken Bonds has ruined me.

I'll finish the series. But can we all agree to say that Malcolm is an idiot who needs a reality check !?

Book 2 picks up pretty much where Book 1 ended, with Malcolm, Sol, Jerrett and Willow accepting the King’s gracious invitation to visit the castle and what was once Malcom’s home. The King being Malcolm’s father, of course. Dude is a prince, y’all! Is… Was… the waters are so murky sometimes…
The King appears to be a benevolent ruler, wanting only the best for all vampires under his rule; incredibly magnanimous in welcoming all his people, old and new and wanting them to feel at home; making every effort to make them all feel safe and secure, knowing that every decision that he makes is in their best interest.
But is that all there is to him? Under the veneer of noble altruism and the firm command of everyone he rules, is there a narcissistic, fear-mongering, power-hungry, cowardly, bullying a**hat?

Willow, is as always, dazzling and smart and quite frankly, the best and the fiercest and the bestest of everything and everyone to infinity and beyond. She reminds me of Tinkerbell – just taller and darker with a tad more… bite. Her ability to think on her feet and her physical prowess as well as her growing powers and talents, takes center stage in this installment. I have NEVER been more proud!

This book and its action sequences are so well written, that I could smell (and in some cases, taste and almost wipe off my brow) the blood, sweat and tears flying around. I could feel the heart stopping excitement, fear and… hostility as I read the words and the pictures formed so clearly in my mind’s eye. Ms. Moss can build a story like nobody’s business. I quite literally found myself holding my breath at certain parts. Great as a reader; not great as an asthmatic!

The thrill of the mystery within the mystery in this book was absolutely mind-boggling with plot twists and turns that made me “WTF” for the entire duration!
On a happy note, the relationship building and development of intimacy between the characters under the duress of so much tension and so many unknown factors is just beautiful and utterly fascinating to witness. There’s just one… one… one teeny, small, frustrating, excruciatingly… it’s a small thing really… it doesn’t even matter… no biggy!

This story hustled from beginning to end. Oh my soul, I could not even deal with that ending! I’ll warn you right now that it does end on a major rage-inducing cliffhanger but on the upside, the next book will be out sooner than soon (just enough time for me to reread and to thoroughly enjoy the hot and steamy sexy times and the kick a** action) so I don’t have to suffer for too long. But again, WTF?

Sadie Moss is a freaking genius – her plot lines are original and exciting and her execution is flawless and flows at just the right pace every single time. She is an automatic one-click wonder for me and I would read anything she writes, knowing that it will intrigue and satisfy.

P.S. Jerrett and Sol are still tied for the position of my favourite man, but Jerrett and his increasingly creatively filthy mouth has definitely edged into the lead. That being said, they come as a package deal so I will end on this note:
#WillowbelongstoSDJericho
#JerrettbelongstoSDJericho
#SolbelongstoSDJericho
#MalcolmbelongstoSDJericho

Next book is Ruined By Blood! I was never ready for this!

A Superbly & Satisfyingly Tense & Steamy Read!!🌟🌠✨

We get to see the Vampire King's Castle & stronghold, in the hidden realm of Penumbra in 'Seduced By Blood'!👑🏰 It's opulent, extravagant & over the top, but at the same time it's like being in an expensive hotel where your every need is met.

Malcolm, Jarrett & Sol are keeping Willow as far away from King Carrick, Malcom's Father, and his court as possible. They're terrified someone might recognise the scent of her partial Fae blood!!😳 Willow is going out of her mind with boredom being cooped up in her room though!!😞 The question of her being turned without the Kings permission still hasn't arisen, they're all stressed about that too!!🙈

The deadly Shades have gone quiet, but the King says he has his men searching for them. Our quartet want to get back on the hunt as soon as possible but you just know something is going to go wrong somehow!!😱

The tension & suspense grows from chapter to chapter. Challenges are thrown down & have to be met 😳 Sol and Jarrett draw closer to Willow and heat explodes between each pair!🔥🔥 Whilst Malcolm continues to hold back!!😥 Sacrifices are made, more than once, that are thrown back in her face, for reasons she doesn't fully understand! And the beautiful but twisted twin sisters, from 'Saved By Blood: book #1', re-emerge but to what end??😲😞 Its nail biting!!🙏😕

I thought this book was excellent. I stayed up all night to finish reading it!😃🌠 I loved that it was amazingly well paced, written & plotted out second book in this series. You can often find a 2nd book a bit of a let down, that definitely *isn't* the case with 'Seduced By Blood: Book #2'!!😃😍 This is shaping up to be one of my all time favourite RH books, the sexy times are hot but the story is outstanding!!🌟😎

Tome 2

Recommend: Yes
Spice: 🌶️
World: 1 World shared with Vampires, Fae, Witches ETC

Plot:
This series is about a girl who is recently divorced and moved to a new town. She is working 2 jobs and trying to find her place in life. She is attacked by a creature one night and the saved by 3 men who end up turning her into a vampire to save her life.
They try to let her go, but end up so entranced by her they follow her round. She gets attacked again so they take her in and protect her.
She falls In love with all 3 of them and they mention they will share her.
They rescue some kids and end up having to go to the vampire castle, where Willow finds out the Malcom is in fact the Vampire kings son. Cause he didn’t approve of her being turned she has to do some trials to prove she is allowed to be turned. She finds out she is in fact part Fae and has more powers then just seeing the future. They try to keep it secret but it ends up coming out. The king tells her she must be his cause he wants her blood for himself. She ends up sleeping with Sol and Jarrett.

My feelings:

I read this book for the reverse Harem side. It wasn’t as spicy as im used to but this is a great book for someone wanting to enter into reverse Harems and doesn’t wanna be slapped in the face with it. The MC is great and I love how she evolves from day one. She goes from shy to interested in more instantly when presented with the opportunity to have more then she could could dream, of. I mean none of us go looking for more then one BF at a time but I would like to think if it presented itself we would all be confident to take it hahaha.

“Finally, Jerrett opened his mouth, his blue eyes shining like pale stars in the darkness. “No. You’re not crazy, Will. You’re fae.”

This is the second book of this vampire reverse harem series (read "Saved By Blood" first) and there are spoilers for book one in my review below so beware if you haven't read the first book first.

Book 2 takes place at Penumbra, the vampire castle of villainous vampire king, Carrick. A little bit more information is given to us about Willow's magic, and Malcolm's history, and the heat is brought a couple of times too! I continue to love that Sol is blind, and that Malcolm is tortured and loses his temper. As with the first book, I wish there would have been more on page interactions between Willow and each hero, that didn't have to do with sex or their battle against the shades/Carrick. The mythology of what is going on is really light, with not a lot of detail, and things are discovered or guessed by Willow's accidental visions or research that Sol has done off-page. For those that like a light story this will work really well but if you like a lot of detail you might find it lacking. Overall, I like this series and love this author's writing style - her sentence structure and editing are always on point. The ending isn't really a cliffhanger by my definition, but some might find it so. Either way, this author releases pretty rapidly so at this point I think there is only a week until the third book, and conclusion to the series, is released.

Seduced By Blood by Sadie Moss is a medium-burn paranormal reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lia Holland and C.J. Grey. This is the second book in The Vampires' Fae series.

The book does come with a caution: "This book contains strong language, sexual situations, and a heroine who doesn’t have to choose between her men."

I absolutely love Sadie's books! This is the fifth series of hers that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. She does a great job pulling me into the story and I can't help but binge them in one sitting. I am loving the relationship blooming between Willow, Jarrett, Malcolm, and Sol. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ends on a cliffhanger, but that wasn't a surprise since its the second book in a three book series. I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series Ruined by Blood.

Lia and C.J. did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances, fantasy romance, reverse harem romances, or romantic suspense.

Seduced by Blood (The Vampires’ Fae Book 2)

Seduced by Blood (The Vampires’ Fae Book 2) ~ ~ Book two had me yelling at my Kindle repeatedly ~~ mostly at Malcom, sometimes at Jarrett, and occasionally at Sol when he decided silence was a personality trait. The emotional tension explodes in this installment, and Willow is officially done being treated like she’s fragile or clueless.

The reverse harem dynamic really comes alive here. Each vampire’s connection to Willow deepens in different ways, and the jealousy? Off the charts. The problem is that these men love hard but communicate terribly, and their “protective instincts” often cross straight into infuriating territory. I loved Willow for calling them out instead of just accepting it.

The spice is hotter, the fae politics are messier, and the stakes feel very real. I was stressed, annoyed, invested, and completely unable to stop reading. This book ends with everything feeling unstable, and I absolutely needed the next one immediately.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~~ you won’t regret it.

Not as satisfied

This was a well written second installment to the series, but I wasn't as satisfied. Also, for interested parties: the series goes from slow burn to fast in this one, with some nice steamy scenes!
--- WARNING! MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW ---
Book 2 definitely had more action, but I felt some things were a bit contradictory or didn't make sense. For example, when the guys told her she was fae in book 1 after she phased, and she brought up the fact that the shades do it to and the guys just shrugged and said "no clue why they do it" and now this book they're like "oh my gosh, the shade are fae!" It felt a bit disappointing. Also in book 1, Willow asked the guys if they could hide her scent and they said it wasn't possible, but all of a sudden there is magic for the shades to do so in this book to launch their attack?? And a king of a violent race that is cowardly? It doesn't make sense how he would even become king. Sighs. Putside of those things, I didn't really feel like the plot moved forward and stuff was just happening. So, I don't think I'll be continuing the series, even though it is well written.

This series only gets better and better. This is book two of "The Vampire's Fae" and you absolutely don't want to miss this one. Willow, Malcom, Jerrett and Sol were all commanded with a heavy handed invitation to accompany the Vampire King, Carrick aka Malcom's father and his entourage, to his castle and kingdom. Since none of the others had permission from the king to turn Willow, she now must go through a series of tests in order for the king to determine if she will be an asset to them. Problems? Well, if she fails at any of the tests, she'll die. If anyone finds out she had Fae blood, the probability of them draining her to take her powers until she dies is high. Can she trust anyone, including the king? Not likely since her men don't seem to. In the midst of all this, the castle comes under attack, Malcom gets mortally wounded. Willow does everything she can to save him but has it made things worse? This was epic and can't wait for the next book of the series.

This Fae Vampire Reverse Harem series picks up pace.

This is shaping up to be a really great series. The character development is excellent as each person is being allowed to show themselves to us through the story. Willow is an interesting character in that she is a part-fae human who has been turned into a vampire. She has vampire skills and fae traits but she is wholly untrained and as the vampires killed off most of the fae because of their addiction to their blood, there doesn’t appear to be anyone she can ask for training.

We learn more about vampire society and skills as Willow strives to access all her new powers. She and her three vampires are itching to get through her vampire trials to see if she will be allowed to live in order to get back to their hunt for the shades that nearly took Willow’s life. King Carrick doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to allow them to hunt.

Wow, this is the second book in the series and is totally amazing... Willow is forced to stay at the King of the vampires castle, Carrick, who happens to be Malcom's father 😲... She is also forced to participate in the trials, to prove she is a worthy vampire and be aceppted at Carrick's Court... But in the second round, she is forced to reveal her secret to save herself from dying and now she is in more danger, as every vampire in the castle crave her blood... Suddenly, the castle is under attack by the shadows and Malcom gets mortally wounded, Willow does the most terrible thing to save him and now, he can forget himself and leaves the castle... What will happen now that the shadows got what they wanted from the castle and Malcom is gone???... Will Carrick let her leave???... Can't wait to read the next book!!! 😧😱😰

More Everything!

I'm just going to put it out there in the world. Sadie Moss is officially my favorite author! Her whole writing style just gets to me every time! Each book I've picked up by her has been impossible to put down. This one was no exception! It's got more amazing world building that Sadie does such an excellent job with. More development into these beautiful relationships between characters and we get to see Willow grow even more as a new Fae/Vampire hybrid when her new skills are put to the ultimate test. It's even more thrilling than the first with more death and destruction. It's just MORE!!! But that cliffhanger at the end is a doozy!!! I'm dying for book 3!!! Hats off to you and your talent Sadie Moss! <3 You make mages and vampires amazing and I look forward to reading everything you write!

4.5 stars for Seduced by Blood by Sadie Moss. This is book 2 in The Vampires Fae series. This book starts off right where book 1 left off. “Vampire are immortal, not invincible.” I will say this book is more tense than the first group. Willows powers are growing along with her relationship with the guys. The threat of the Shades is getting worse and everyone is in danger. This book to me is steamier than the first. We get to meet Malcolm’s dad Carrick, The King of north America vampires, He is a piece of work, and he is a horrible ruler. He insists that Willow must face the trials and if she lives than she is to be accepted as a vampire. In this book the relationship between Willow and the guys is growing and so are Willow’s powers. Willow is a strong woman and I am loving her character.
I am going to warn you to be ready because this book ends in one hell of a cliffhanger.

Holy shiz that was good! I really thought...never mind I don’t want to give anything away. Willow and her men are always finding themselves in the middle of nothing but trouble and unfortunate situations. Their encounters with the king are no different.

Amidst it all, Mal needs to take a chill pill and pull his head out of his ass, he loves her and she loves him, end of and get over himself. Jerrett and Sol are sweet, understanding, considerate, protective and compassionate, in other words perfect.

Willow is growing into her powers, her strength and instincts, which is great because trouble follows her wherever she goes. Which makes for excellent and action packed reading. Sadie Moss, I love your writing, characters and cliffhangers, thank you for sharing another fantastic story.

Loved this book! I loved Willow in the last book and I loved her even more in this book. She was a total boss. She kicked butt and took names. Yes I am rolling my own eyes as I type that but I am not taking it back because it's so true! Because Willow was turned without the king's approval she has to go through a set of trials basically until the king says she's good enough not to kill. She also has to hide her Fae side because Fae blood is addictive to vampires. I loved seeing her grow and learn her abilities. And I loved how she kind of took charge of her relationships with the guys. She didn't wait for them, she told them what she wanted it. If you haven't guessed it by now, I just love everything about Willow.

Seduced by Blood is the second book in the series and continues where the story ends from book 1. The tension never lets up as they work together against Malcolm's father, King Carrick from discovering Willow's secret while she undergoes series of trials to prove her worthy of being a member of his household.

As always, Ms. Moss continues with her stellar storytelling with well written vampire world, beautifully flawed but relatable characters and unique storyline (vampire fae, how's that?). That ending though kills me. I want book 3 right now.

I received an ARC and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Things move on at a faster pace in this book to the last and things generally start heating up on all fronts. Three sexy as sin guys and an innocent(ish) woman who is learning the way of her new life visiting Carrick's vampire court, what could go wrong?
In this second book in the series we get to understand what it means to be a Fae/Vampire halfling and it's not plain sailing for poor Willow. I think her three vampire protectors are awesome characters and found them all likeable and indeed lovable. (Yeah the L word does make an appearance or two).
Really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the last book in the trilogy.

Great second book. Loved to see each of them evolve throughout this book. Both in terms of us, the readers simply getting to know them better (titbits about their pasts etc), but also how they grow together as a team, family, how Willow brings out new sides in each of them and vice versa.
I especially love how this FMC shows that you can be strong, smart, courageous and still embrace being feminine. Sadly, they usually end up being total damsels, TSTD idiots full of hubris or outright femme fatales.
So yeah, very happy with this one. Again both in terms of character as well as story development.
Already half-way through book 3 :)

Good!

This book picked up quickly from book 1, gaining the traction the 1st one missed. It evolves into a far more complex story and we see true character definition between the guys.

Pros:
- getting solid
- unique take on both vampire and fae lore
- willow. Enough said.
- well edited

Cons:
- The king. He’s a d-bag
- have to wait till Jan 17th for book 3
- obvious clue gave away what the shades were in book 1, I got annoyed the Quartet didn’t see it sooner.... even though they DO explain their lack of awareness reasonably.

The characters are amazing and the author has done a great job of fleshing them out and giving them depth, with an equally intriguing storyline. However, the lack of editing on the text jars the reader out of the storyline. Grammatical errors, misspelled words and even forgetting it was an axe in hand instead of a sword rips the reader out of the story. Please have someone beta read your work before publishing - this will set you apart from the other cheaply published and poorly developed writers out there.

How dare you!!!

That cliffhanger was equal parts frustrating and amazing lol I figured that's what was going to happen but I wasn't sure. This book was action packed with being brought to king Carrick's castle and having willow fighting in the trials. That's not all though! When her secrets get revealed she is now in more danger then she was before! I loved this book, aside from Malcolm still being a stubborn ass lol Jerret and Sol are amazing though. lol can't wait for the next book

Wow so much happened in this book with Willow and the guys at the castle and King Carrick trying to figure out what they are hiding. Then the trials and as they try to figure out the shade problem and who is controlling them and what they are after. The end of this book broke my heart a little bit with Malcom and Willow. Sol and Jerrett are amazing. I can't wait for the conclusion to their story in book 3.

Whyyyy? Why does every single MC turn into a moron throughout a series? I don't know. I'll read the next book, because I'm hooked and not very good at putting a series down, once I started it. But it's going to be a hard read if she keeps this behavior up :-/
I also feel like the author took one book which could have been easily told in one instalment and devided it into 3, for no apparent reason?
