I thought Rhiannon Frater was done with this world so this book was a nice surprise!
I loved that it showed what happened pre-Bastion.

I could have done without some of the interactions between the characters. Specifically, the MC's 10 yr old niece annoyed me, but this is still a solid installment in the Bastion series. Book 1 is one of my all-time fave books.

A fun ride

Frater always delivers with her zombie stories - action packed, with real and kick ass characters who you can’t help but root for.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a different take on dystopian zombie apocalypse style books. It’s set into the future. Humanity survived but international human conflicts threaten the peace. I particularly enjoyed the military aspect of the book. The main character is a helicopter pilot. What a extremely useful skill in a apocalypse. I enjoyed every book from this author’s work.
