Inexplicably silly title notwithstanding, this book offers a clear and thorough review of the complicated history and current emerging state of Zen Buddhism in the West, chiefly North America. The author, James Ishmael Ford, is both a Unitarian Universalist minister and a long-time Zen teacher associated with the Boundless Way sangha network, which with its blend of Korean Linji, Japanese Soto and Harada-Yasutani (itself a blend of Soto and Rinzai) lineage influences, is representative of the hy
