If you're a guy like me, and you find yourself having banged your sexy new boss —the school principal — in the back of your Jeep one drunken night, here's a few takeaways based on my experience...

Lesson One: always get her FULL name.

Lesson Two: consider asking what she does for a living.

Lesson Three: find out why she's moved to town. Get details. Details are crucial.

Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been excited about a new to me author, but Piper Rayne has drawn me in and I want to should her name from the rooftops. Lessons from a One-Night Stand is the first book in her new series The Bailey’s and if it is indicative of what’s to come sign me up and take my money. The book has everything I love about contemporary romance; intriguing characters from the two primary to the supporting cast, an intriguing storyline, enough conflict to keep it interesting

If you’re keeping up with my reviews then you’ll know that I’ve just recently become obsessed with all things Piper Rayne! After devouring this author duo’s Blue Collar Brothers series, I got my hands on an early copy of 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗢𝗻𝗲-𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱, the first book in a brand new series by the incredibly talented duo. The second I started Austin and Holly’s romance, I. WAS. IN. HEAVEN. Pure bliss and satisfaction flowed through my veins with every turn of

This book was everything I love about Piper Rayne books. If you're not already on the bandwagon this is a good place to start. When I first read the blurb for this story I didn't realise it was the kick off for a longer family series. But I am so glad it is.

This book not only was a super sweet romance it also was a great introduction to the family and town and has me so excited and invested in everyone else's story.

Austin was the perfect boyfriend in so many ways that I really loved him but dam

Austin is the oldest brother of the Bailey clan. He gave up his dream on playing baseball to come home and take care of his siblings after his parents were killed nine years ago.

Austin feels it is time to move on. To finally reach for his dreams, his new dream of coaching college baseball. He is gonna finish this year of teaching and coaching and then hopefully move on to bigger and better things.

What Austin doesn't expect was that his random one-night stand, would become is boss when his regu

Lessons from a One-Night Stand was the first book in the Baileys series by Piper Rayne. It was my first book by the authors.

The Baileys were the heart and soul of Lake Starlight, Alaska. There were nine siblings: Austin, Savannah, Brooklyn, Rome (twin), Denver (twin), Juno, Kingston, Phoenix (twin) and Sedona (twin). Austin was the oldest at thirty. Their parents died when he was twenty one and he became the guardian to the seven youngest. He returned to Lake Starlight, accepted a position at th

Lessons from a One-Night Stand bored and annoyed me at the same time. Although there were some great moments in the book, it wasn't enough to hold my attention. Instead of making me enjoy my reading time, it was slowly sucking the will to live out of me.
The family (no matter how diverse—in chosen careers—it was) felt unimaginative to me. To the point where I had to ask myself, "Really, do they need to be that obvious?" Not even one of them spoke to me in a way that would make my heart racing, kn

Another winner from Piper Rayne!

I loved the family dynamics in the Bailey family! What a great bunch of people. It took a minute for me to warm up to Austin, but I ended up really liking him. And I liked Holly even more :)

Piper Rayne delivers the first book in their brand new series, The Baileys, and it did not disappoint! I’m a sucker for a family saga—add in a charming hero and witty heroine, I am sucked in for the long haul! These characters were funny, relatable, and real, making it an addictive page turner I couldn’t get enough of! I’m literally so obsessed, I dreamt about them and have a huge book hangover! 5+ Stars from me!

So much love for Lesson from a One-Night Stand by Piper Rayne!

I loved the storyline, it's well written, highly entertaining and I seriously couldn't put it down.

I enjoyed getting to meet and know the Baileys, they are a fun and a little crazy family that have had to overcome losing their parents at a young age, deal with their pain but also be their for one another.

I loved Austin and Holly, they have amazing chemistry and I loved watching their relationship develop. I found them both li

I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to try this new series by Piper Rayne. I didn't love the Blue Collar Brothers Series but when Dani from InkSlinger told me that this one was so much fun yet packed with emotion, I couldn't say no... and did you see that blurb? How could I resist?!
I pretty much fell in love with Austin as soon as he opened his mouth on stage introducing the new interim principal lol He doesn't realize that his hot one-night stand in his Jeep is with none other than his new b

Really cute. I liked the small town romance between Austin and Holly. The gossip rag narrating their tryst was fun and quite funny. Austin was really great and I felt for the dilemma he was in. He changed his whole life plan to go back home to take care of his siblings after his parents die in an accident. Now its finally time for him to leave a pursue his dreams. It wouldn't have been so hard if he wasn't so drawn to Holly and the guilt trip his family laid on him.

I also really adored Holly. Sh

I'm always incredibly excited whenever I see that the amazing author duo of Piper and Rayne have something new planned...so when I first heard about their upcoming series, The Baileys, centred around nine siblings from a small town in Alaska called Lake Starlight...I was immediately intrigued! This is Piper Rayne's biggest planned series yet and the entire series sounds so fabulous! Now that I've finished the first book, LESSONS FROM A ONE-NIGHT STAND, which was all about the oldest Bailey sibli ...more

The dynamic duo has done it again with the first book in their brand-new series, The Baileys! Due to my busy schedule these past few months I have sadly missed many of their recent releases, so when I had the opportunity to get my hands on Lessons from a One-Night Stand, I jumped at the chance. Let me just tell you that I picked the right time to dive back into a new Piper Rayne book world! This series will center around the Bailey siblings in La

You know how when you find a favorite author and all of a sudden you have run out of everything of theirs to read and you want more. Then wham bam, they have created a new series just in time and even better this one has the potential to be way longer than their past series - this is The Baileys by Piper Rayne. For those that read my reviews, you will know that I am a big fan of the Piper Rayne duo and I consider myself one of their unicorns. I already had an inkling I was going to enjoy this bo ...more

Lessons from a One-Night Stand was a fun, sexy, and entertaining standalone romantic comedy and intro to The Baileys series, and I really enjoyed it!

The storyline and characters were wonderful. The plot of Lessons from a One-Night Stand was very enjoyable, and I liked it a lot. Austin and Holly were extremely likable characters, and I really enjoyed reading their love story. There were a few aspects that I didn’t like as much as others, but overall I was happy with the conclusion to

Totally safe read for safe readers.
Hero was sweet but a bit silly on last pages. Heroine was awesome. Great main and second characters.
Small town settings, Alaska, if you like it - go for it.

Oh my goodness!!! I can’t even begin to tell you how much I fell in love with this book and I now want to devour every single story about those Bailey siblings.

Piper Rayne are an incredible writing duo and I’m ashamed to admit that this was the first time reading one of their books. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this story and am pretty sure I sat with a big goofy smile on my face nearly the whole way through. I received this book from InkslingerPR in exchange of an honest review.

My first Piper Rayne book, and oh boy, I had quite a lot of fun reading it, and I will definitely be checking out more of their books. Their romance is so nicely written!

I will write a good/not so good review for this book:

Good:

I don't know what happened, but I feel like this isn't the type of characters or writing that I've come to expect from Piper Rayne. I loved her Modern Love and Single-Dads series, but this one just didn't capture my attention.

The conflict was just so-so and the characters themselves annoyed me a little bit (especially Austin's siblings *looking at you Phoenix*).

It really says a lot when the side-characters ruin your reading experience and enjoyment of the main couple. The high school ki

This book was so MUCH FUN TO READ! I am thankful I received an ARC because I was dying to already read it just from the blurb!

When Austin realizes that his one night in the back of his jeep stand is walking right towards him, of all places but his work. Not to mention the fact that he just somewhat inappropriately introduced her to the school. You'd think a man would ask more than a single answer questions in one night stands? Nope they don't so note to self for the future!
