When U.S. intelligence agencies invite teen geek and ace hacker, Angel Sinclair, and her friends to try out for a highly competitive school for government operatives, will she wash out or step into a future she never expected?
My name is Angel Sinclair and I’m the youngest senior at a high school for technologically-gifted students. School bored me until my friends and I were unexpectedly tapped to try out for a top-secret spy academy. I’m not sure I have what it takes to be an operative for the U.S. government, but my friends and I are going to give it our best shot.
But first I have to go up against uber-skilled candidates who can do a thousand push-ups, kill a person with a fingernail file, and make handcuffs out of paper clips. My only defining skills are my mad hacking abilities and extreme awkwardness. I don’t know what kind of spy that would make me, but I’m not going down without a fight.
With my loyal friends by my side, we’re in a race to finish at the top of the class. Together we have the smarts…but we’ll have to battle our insecurities and work together or miss out on an adventure of a lifetime.

Loved this book! Another great story from Julie Moffett! This book centres around the White Knights, and a new group of people, competing against each other for spots at a prestigious spy school. The challenges are crazy, but they all have their own unique skills and attributes to contribute to the challenges. In the background is also Angel’s father, still negotiating with the big agencies for his immunity. This was a fun book to read and I hate that I now have to wait for the next one! I highly recommend this series.
Ms. Moffett has written another winner in this series. The plot is fast paced and the White Knights, Angel, Frankie and Wally, are facing challenges that are completely out of their comfort zone. I couldn't put the book down and I'm excited for the next one in the series.
Julie Moffett has done it again! She has given us another solid page-turner with Knight Moves. Action, heart, humor and characters that make it all really matter. While having read the White Knights will make elements of the book clear sooner, Ms. Moffett does an excellent job of integrating prior information into the current work. The characters range from almost 16 to 18 but there was nothing about this young adult novel that was a turn off for this old lady. Slash personally delivers an invitations to "Spy School" and Angel is thrilled as are Wally and Frankie. From the first moments on campus light is news, excited, and a little scary as they work to earn their place at the university. Some of the challenges are out of their scope of experience so their only choice is to hang on and do their best. Luckily for Angel, she doesn't realize that she is the focus of a group with hostile intent; she has more than enough to worry about just trying to figure out the other students and the program. Awesome, Awesome and Awesome. A friend messaged me that she had been up until 4 AM after the novel downloaded to her Kindle. I had not trouble believing that because it was keeping me awake too. When the idea of the new series came up, I couldn't imagine that I would love it as much as I do Lexi's books but as different as they are, both series are great!
Okay, I am not a young reader, but after reading the first book in this series, I was thrilled to know the second book had been published! So last night I started reading, and the next thing I know was my reader shut off because the battery had died. And I was only on chapter 48! I HAD to finish the book right then (after 1:45am) because it was that good!! It was worth loss of sleep,
In this book, the White Knights (Angel, Frankie, and Wally) are all offered a chance to go to a top secret Government school (4 year college) free if they could pass the entrance exams. UTOP as it was called by those who were in on the secret information, is a training school for spies that played to their individual strengths. There were 4 girls and 4 boys invited to try out for UTOP. The author proceeds to describe in minute details their experiences, classes, and testing during the 4 weeks together. The amazing feats they accomplish and the way they work together to allow everyone's strengths have a chance to be showcased, was amazing. During this time Angel continued trying to learn more about her missing father, and the NSA continued to try and bring in the Hidden Avenger, whom they believed to be Angel's missing father.
In what can only be described as a stunning conclusion, the door was left wide open for book number three! This is one series that you MUST read in order! The characters are amazing but believable in their individual talents and turns at leadership. I can hardly wait for the next book to be written and published. In this series there is no individual who stands out above the others, even though you will have your favorite that you root for. But it is a heartwarming and exciting look at 8 teenagers who are one for all and all for one in spite of individual ruffled feathers at times! If only life could be like these eight live it! Wonderful book! Don't miss it!
Such a greet book and great series. I hate we have to wait a year, but at least the quality is worth it. Angel and the White Knights get invited to try out for a secret program, disguised within an educational system that will train future government operatives. They must pass a four week training / testing timeframe with weekly trials . They are getting further education on their personal area of expertise whole being pushed outside their comfort zones. Angel is still looking for her dad, though he has tried to warn her off finding him. The NSA directors are trying to get Ethan to turn himself in. They will try to use Angel as leverage. This is an intriguing, enjoyable read, even though it's classified as YA and I'm over 40. No language, so will be able to let my daughter read. My review sounds clinical, but I don't want to give anything away. Read this really quickly, but it flowed and the situations are interesting to read. Looking forward to the next book next year and Lexington Carmichael book1 in January. I like that there is a little bit of crossover.
I don't normally read YA books but julie Moffat is one of my favorite authors and she didn't disappoint I think angel is a great role model for younger girls I enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it to anyone
Author Julie Moffett has hit another home-run with this book. In January, I reviewed the first book in the White Knights series and fell in love with Angel's character right away. She's a redhead ginger, an introvert, and I adored her. Of course, in the first book, Angel is a loner. She prefers the company of her computer to that of human beings.
Knight Moves brings back all our favorite characters (Angel, Frankie and Wally), as well as introducing an entirely new group of 'friends'. Angel and her friends find themselves at UTOP, a super-secret spy school for teenagers. This book took all the adventure from White Knights and put Angel in a new environment, with new challenges and adventures. But, she's still searching for her father, who vanished when she was a child. This all comes together to form an exciting, keep you on the edge of your seat book.
Will Angel and her friends finish at the top of the class or will they wash out? Will Angel find out what happened to her father, or if he's even still alive? Guess you'll just have to read the book for yourself to find out!
I'm not good at leaving reviews, but this book was awesome! I did not want it to end. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long until the next book comes out
This book was great! I really liked the first book, but I think the second one is even better. I’m looking forward to when the third book comes out! I highly recommend this book!
*I received a copy in exchange for my honest review*
Read book one first to get the best from this book although you don't need to read book one first, but it certainly helps you get a sense of the characters developing. I got into the authors books by way of reading her sisters. The Lexi series were mentioned, I tried them and got hooked. Thus I was quite sure I would enjoy the White Knight series and after book one I knew I was right. They are aimed at the YA reader, which I most certainly am not, (unless second childhood counts) but I feel they can be enjoyed by readers of any age. Keep them coming Julie.
This story was well worth the wait! Julie Moffett creates characters that seem real, and plots that suck you right in to the heart of the story---I had to read this in one sitting! It is rated as a young adult novel, but I am in my 60's and absolutely loved it, so do not allow the rating to deter you. As with all the books I have read by Ms Moffett, I highly recommend this one as an engrossing and fun read.
Now I absolutely loved book 1 and then Knight Moves comes along and wow it was just incredible.
Angel and her White Knight partners are off on another adventure this time it's about to Challenge more than their minds, but it's not a boot camp, technically lol it's not a torture chamber, technically UTOP is a mixture of Angels biggest dreams and worst nightmares come to life.
I loved how by the end of the 4 weeks we saw changes in everyone and I have to say in this story Team Work rules.
Angel was amazing her character grew leaps and bounds in this book it really shows what the right environment can really do for someone.
"Geek girls everywhere will love this YA series! Angel and the White Knights face new challenges as their skills are honed and tested. A must read for all geek girls and guys!"
Julie Moffett has done it again! I love Julie’s adult Lexi Charmichael series, and the White Knights YA series is quickly becoming another favorite. Angel Sinclair is an almost 16 year old computer geek who, in her first book stepped away from her computer and a) made friends, and b) helped the NSA take down an internationally hunted hacker. In this book she is invited by the Alphabet Agencies to try out for a top secret spy school. This is the story of that try out. Sorry... no more details....you have to read it for yourself. You won’t regret it!
I really enjoyed seeing Angel and her two friends Wally and Frankie stretch their wings a bit. The three of them are attending a 4 week introduction to spy school to see if they have what it takes to be an operative. They meet others also trying out for the program and between the new kids, the classes and challenges, Angel learns more about herself, her friends and her father’s past. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.
Fun story. A little more character development than the first book. Some surprises which were good. I'll read the next one. There were some editing errors, but again, not enough to ruin the story.
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK In Knight Moves, Angel Sinclair is still in her high school senior year, only this time she and her friends, The White Knights are given an intriguing challenge. They were chosen to try out for a top secret spy academy. A challenge Angel wasn’t about to give up because that would mean free of top spa training plus a guaranteed job after she finished the academy training. Just imagine what these genius hacking crazy geek girls can do with this opportunity! Just hang on for the ride as you follow these interesting and fun loving teens while trying to prove they can do the job.
Again author Julie Moffett writes and amazing and intriguing story full of action, mystery, laughter and high school students who are too smart for their own good. I was in awe at the knowledge of the genius students. I enjoyed the characters already introduced in the first book, White Knights, as well as the nearly created characters for this book. Ms. Moffett weaves together the lives of these students with the knowledge and crazy hacking abilities and the genius’ they are and creates the story in a way it flows so smoothly and seems so realistic. I can’t wait for more from this author! And as with the first book as well, Knight Moves is a clean fun loving and entertaining read that teens and tweens alike with really enjoy, and want more. Even this older lady enjoyed this book and this series, so it’s really for everyone!
I received this book from Prism Tours to read and review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55.
Knight Moves is the second book in the White Knights series. This is a YA series that I think preteen through adults will enjoy. It is a spin-off from the Lexi Carmichael series. I started the series with this book. I was able to keep up just fine but now want to get every single book I have missed. There is so much I loved about this book that it is difficult to start. My brain shouting, “just tell them to read it. Tell everyone to read it!,” is not helping at all. I love that this book has three smart teenagers, two females and one male who are good friends. I love that Angel was a loner who is learning about friendship and is advancing her social skills in a natural way. I related to that part so well. All of the teens at the school are unique. They can, and do, stand by theirselves with their own strengths and weaknesses. Yet all of them are equal. The ending, of this book, wow! I don’t want to give it away but this sapient author surprised me with something I have found missing in a few YA books I have read. I felt like cheering! Oh and the school..if you aren’t going to Hogwarts, you probably want to go here. The negatives? I have none. I plan to recommend this series to my library for their YA section. I don’t have children in school but I am thinking to donate copies of it to the alternative high school as well as the high school libraries. Teens need to see they can be brilliant. They can be strong. They can be different yet equal and both sexes can be friends without the pressure of an intense relationship. They need to see that their strengths and weaknesses are normal and they are still valuable with them. This series shines a light for them.
This series concentrates on advanced computer skills and a group of young genius' training as future federal agents. It is fast paced and has the underlying mystery of why Angel Sinclair 's father disappeared without a trace when she was 18 months old. This is an interesting series that can easily be enjoyed both the young mystery reader as well as the older generation of mystery readers. It is well written and has no foul language. This author is a joy to read.
After exposing a computer hacker who had caused one death and wanted to kill others, Angel, Wally and Frankie are recruited to attend a top secret school for spies. However, they must first complete a four week trial period. Arriving at the school, they are placed in a group with five other people, and told only two candidates will be chosen at the end of the trial. The story tells the conflict between competition and teamwork. Very entertaining book.
This second excellent story in the series has Angel and her two friends accepting an invitation to a four week test, which, they are successful, would give them a four year scholarship to a government spy school with a guaranteed job upon graduation. The tale flows through the ups and downs of the test, keeping the reader heavily involved in the plot, which is as good as the first in the series. You've done it again, Julie.
I loved the first White Knights, and eagerly purchased this one. When I read the summary, though, I wasn't sure if was really what I was in the mood for. I started it anyway, and was immediately hooked. Julie Moffett brings characters to life in an amazing way, and this story was even better than the last. I can't wait to read the next one!
I appreciated the way this book developed. Some of it was a bit predictable, so I'd like to see the surprise factor upped in the next installment, bit the development of the characters made up for it for me. I like the direction of the series and can't wait to see what Moffett does next
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was fun to read more about Angel and her friends.. And what could be better than an opportunity to go to spy school?! Loved it! Can't wait to see what happens next!
This story was about discovery and growth. The teenagers in the story were challenged to accomplish tasks and found that by working together, they were unstoppable. We should all follow their example.
The book is full of twists and turns that leaves you breathless one minute, biting your nails the next minute and cheering wildly at the next minute. The characters are diverse, complex and utterly charming. The White Knights pull out the stops again!
Oh My Goodness!! action, intrigue, mystery, twists and turns in every chapter. so many turns, my own mind was challenged, right along with the white knights. I literally cheered them aloud, bit my nails at times. Thank you Julie for writing another book that is a hit out of the park!
Angel was already in an elite school with Frankie and Wally. What more could they ask for? Spy school, paid for by Uncle Sam. The White Knights embark on a new journey where they will be tested as well ad their friendship.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's fun and lighthearted but also keeps you engaged. I can't wait for the next one! Thank you for writing these books!
