Damon came into my life when I needed him the most. I’d never imagined my mate would be the Alpha of the most notorious pack around.

He became my everything, but little did I know my future with him was in danger.

Things were not what they seemed...

Damon

When I allowed a new member to join my pack, I never imagined that she would become mine. Farren was not what I’d expected, and yet she was everything I needed.

Someone was out to hurt her, but they didn’t expect me and my pack to be standing in front of her, protecting her.

Let the hunt begin.

The writing is soul-crushingly awful. I gave this a second chance because I just read two books I had previously DNF'd and they weren't actually that bad. I thought maybe I had judged this one too soon, but no.

Here is an example of how truly atrocious the writing is:
Damon jumps into the fray and tears them to pieces instantly. My wolf is happy that her mate can protect her. I sit down, watching him fight. He is very powerful. A coyote that hasn’t been touched yet falls to the ground due to Damon’s presence.
Oh yeah? Did all the women on the planet spontaneously orgasm when he took his shirt off, too? This is the most ridiculously bland and immature writing I've seen in an adult novel. And I can't even begin to wrap my brain around the simplistic wish fulfillment fanfic storytelling. THIS IS CRIMINALLY BAD. Who let a 10 year old write a paranormal romance?

I hate rating books I've DNF'd, but this one deserves to have its rating negatively affected by a 1 star rating. HOW THE FUCK DOES THIS HAVE A 4.07 RATING?! Nope. I don't buy it. These are some bullshit ratings from people that didn't read the book, hell they might not even be real people. Aliens. There are aliens reviewing this book and giving it 4 and 5 stars. No human would do this to another person. Nobody with a shred of humanity would rate this book so high and give other readers the impression it's worth reading. NO. It's gotta be the aliens.

Do not listen to the aliens.
Do not read this book.

Farren is like most shifters, waiting for her mate to come along, in the meantime she's got a serious problem. Ken, one of her packmates, knows the rules of mates - you don't touch someone that isn't yours or family, especially with bad intentions, or the touchee experiences unbelievable pain. Yet Ken refuses to adhere to them or to accept what they both already know, she isn't his. When she barely escapes his latest attempt to take her, Farren follows her Alpha's advice and leaves home, transferring to her older brother, Maverick's, new pack where he's the second-in-command as they'd always planned. The siblings are happy to be reunited, but not the reason for it...one Maverick is just know learning about.

Damon Knight, the Alpha of the newly formed Knight Pack, created the new home for shifters of all kinds, all preferences, etc., wanting everyone to have a place where they feel safe. He's accomplished that, the downside is a lot of packs tend to to follow the old ways as well as hold on to their females. Which means Damon's has none, which makes any of them finding their mates impossible unless they just happen to run into her...which is pretty much what happens to Damon. He knows the moment he sees Farren she's his, as does she, and they eagerly embark on their new path in life, one they'll walk together.

But that journey won't be an easy one. Not only is Ken still after Farren, believing she's his even though she's now mated, but a pack is intent on attacking theirs, determined to take back the baby one of the Knight members adopted following a tragedy, nothing but bad intentions for him on their mind. Plus, they're welcoming new members all the time, those eagerly fleeing their old packs for the new life Damon promised them.

Can Damon keep his new mate safe from the danger shadowing her every move? Can the two of them protect their pack from those determined to harm them? What member will find love next?

One-click now and follow along as two people find the love destined for them since birth. I loved this story and can't wait for the next book, Brantley's, in the series. And the fact that all of the shifters are virgins?!? *take all my money, Teagan Wilde*

I freaking love shifter PNR books and this one was no exception I was blown away by how much I enjoyed this story. The MC Farren and Damon were great together and had lots of chemistry. The way Damon runs his pack is amazing I cannot wait to see how the pack grows in the other books! The banter between the characters was funny and sweet. Can't wait for the next book in the Raleigh Texas Wolves series!!!!!!!

I've read this authors work but from a different name.. this one was pretty good but it feels kinda the same from her other work..

Farren is being harassed by a wolf who wont take no for a answer and when he tries something pain goes through her body since only mates can touch their own mate.. not feeling safe she goes to live with her brother in his pack.

This pack is run by Damon and when he meets Farren he already knows shes his mate and they work fast..touching and soft looks..

No ow slight om drama, no cheating, sexy times, secondary chara, Drama, both virgins

My biggest trouble was the writing!

It was repetitive, juvenil... The inner monologues add nothing to the story...

The hole story was like a teenfic, the MC both virgins because in this story they could only have sex with their mate.
The sentence "we shifters" is throw a lot to justify things and is boring and annoying!

The story is nothing new but bearable... the h was strong and a fighter and i like that!

I really wanted to love this, but LeAnn Ashers' stilted, oversimplified writing is still cringeworthy. Sorry.

I'll be honest and say I didn't realize this was LeAnn Ashers under a different name until I was halfway through.

The story is sugary sweet at times and downright gory at others. There's nothing overly complicated happening here, folks. The MCs just want to convince basically every shifter to join their pack and be who they really are, singing kumbaya and braiding each other's hair. Where does the alpha get the money to provide nice homes, cars, food and a monthly allowance to every shifter in his pack? His good "business investments" of course.

It also bothered me how similar Ashers' plots are.

I don't regret reading this because I like shifter books with the one-and-only approach. Both MCs are virgins.

However, I won't be looking at the other books in this series.

This is Teagan Wilde's first Paranormal book under this pen name and can I say she ROCKED IT something FIERCE! Lord I loved every word of this story and could not put it down. I was so caught up right from page one that I was cooking and cleaning and reading all at the same time. I love the shifter world but what I liked the most about this one was that Damon the Alpha did not discriminate against other shifters he accepted all of them into his pack.

Damon is the Alpha of his pack and he is the ultimate pack leader. He is strong, funny, protective, and fierce. The only thing he is missing is a mate. That is when he meets Farren and he knows she is his mate for life. But Farren is in danger and Damon and his pack will do anything to protect her from danger.

There is so much going on in this story I don't want to ruin it for the reader but this story is of the chain and a MUST MUST read for all shifter lovers!

When I read the blurb for this book, I was intrigued. It sounded interesting. When I found out that it was written by one of my favorite authors, who was branching out into PNR, I immediately had to read it. By the time I had read the first chapter, I just couldn't put it down!

Farren is a wolf who has to leave her home pack because of something beyond her control. She is a strong wolf, capable of taking care of herself. But she wants more from her life. Like all wolves, she wants to find her other half. Little did she know, he was waiting for her to find him, when she least expected it. Damon is alpha of Farren's new pack. He is a very strong wolf, but has views about what the world should be like for shifters. He wants to create a world that is accepting of all shifters, and their differences. He knows the dangers, and the amount of work he has in store for him. He isn't expecting Farren, but he accepts her with open arms and finds that she is his match in every way.

This book was amazing! Farren and Damon are the type of power couple that everyone aspires to be, but are still compassionate enough that they are worthy of respect. This makes for a book that grabs the reader. Totally different from anything else I've read, the author has created a world that is interesting, and has laid the groundwork for a series that I can't wait to dive into. I'm definitely looking forward to whatever comes next!

This is the first book in the Raleigh Texas Wolves series. It's also my understanding that Teagan Wilde is a pen name for another author, and the first attempt at writing PNR. I really enjoyed the world building this book entailed. It's crucial for new books like this to develop not just the characters and storyline but the new world they are living in. Shifter worlds have a lot of dimensions, with rules, and pack law. This book did a great job of building this world. However, I think that the storyline and character developments were lacking because of it. There are several points along the story that feels unnecessary to the overall storyline and don't help with the world building. I also felt like some of the character development was lacking, because I did not feel any type of connection towards them. Then while reading I had a huge issue with the number of grammatical errors I encountered. For instance, words were often misspelled or the wrong word use, or even missing. Like alpha being spelled alha. I can often overlook a few errors in a book, because its nearly impossible to get a 100% accurate edit, but this book had way more than a few. It disrupted my reading and caused me to have a less than enjoyable experience reading.

Farren loved her pack, but Ken was making it hard for her to live there. She had the pack to protect her from him,but he was increasingly become unpredictable. He would constantly try to touch Farren and with him not being her true mate touching is physically painful to the female. When Kens escalates his pursuit of her the Alpha tells her it would be best to go to her brothers pack for her safety. Farren is ready to make the change but she will miss her pack.

Damon is readying the house for Mavericks sister, she should be arriving soon. Maverick is meeting her and bringing her into the compound, Damon is a fair Alpha everyone is welcome in his pack no judgement, all are welcome.

Farren is watching all the pack check her out smelling the air to see if she is a mate to any of them. Mav lets her know that she is the only female in the pack at this time, thats why everyone is on edge. Thats when they hear the growl and the words Mate.

He is the Alpha Damon and he has just let everyone know that Farren is his,he never imagined that today would be the day he would find her.

He will protect her with his life and she will do the same, and she will need it.When the time comes for all of the packs to come together things get tense and fights erupt. Damon uses his fairness to calm the packs. Offering anyone a place in his pack, they will be leaving with more shifters than they came with. Just when she thinks her life is good Ken decides it time to claim her once and for all.

I am going to keep this review short and straight to the point. There is no need for a long drawn out review when I didn’t like the book. The premise of Damon is what made me want to read this book, I am a huge paranormal romance fan and am always on the lookout for my next paranormal series. I hate to say that this series will not be it. As I said I liked the premise but the writing felt forced, it lacked that special something that would have made this story good. I don’t know if it fell into the new series trap or if it was the book itself but unfortunately this is not a book that I enjoyed nor can recommend.

I was really looking forward to reading this book book but unfortunately I did not enjoy it. I hate giving negative reviews because the authors work so hard in writing it but I can’t force myself to like it either.

Farren was getting harassed by a fellow pack member who was then kicked out of the pack. He became a rogue but her current alpha wanted to be cautious so he sent her to her brothers pack which is a fairly new pack and he is the beta of that pack. She gets a pleasant surprise when she arrives at that pack and discovers her new alpha, Damon, is her fated mate. They fall instantly for each other but they are faced with constant threats.

What I was peeved about this book is that I found it repetitive.even their inner monologue was repetitive. I disliked their terms of endearment for each other. I did not connect with the characters. What I did like was that both the MC’s were virgins and they could only mate with their true mate. Farren was also a strong female character and fought alongside her mate. She did not need him to protect her but she was touched that he did.

I like the characters and the world building. Don't read this if you don't like cheesy books. My only complaints are it was a bit repetitive, had a few moments where I knew crap would go down if they went out but yet they still went out, and he winks 95 percent of the time right before sexy times?? lol just why? Overall I enjoyed it and would continue with Hopes book.

Good first time PRN

This is a good first go at a paranormal book. I don’t think that it has the same edge that her other books have but it was a good read non the less. The characters were amiable and the storyline was flowed well and was easy to read and follow. I’m hoping for better things from the next book in the series

I LOVE this book! I want to unread it so that I can read it again for the first time again (if that makes sense). As soon as I finished this story, I wanted to re read it. I can honestly see this book joining my ‘’constantly re read’’ list.
Damon is book one in the Raleigh Texas Wolves series. This book is written by Teagan Wilde, which is a pen name for one of my favourite authors (Leann Asher’s). Damon is the first paranormal story that she has written but boy, you would never be able to tell that’s its her first shifter story. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters loveable and the storyline enjoyable. I truly was hooked from start to finish. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, I need it now!
The chemistry between Farren and Damon was instant and I loved them as a couple. They’re perfect for one another. Farren was a good alpha female. I loved that she was open, loving and accepting. My heart melted when she did what she did for Olive and Olive’s family.
I really loved the friendship Farren struck with Brantley. Their bond was strong. I liked that the pack was so accepting that Brantley felt comfortable asking to keep Aiden as his own. I also loved the scene of him meeting his mate and his mate’s reaction to the pack.
I loved the addition of Hope. I loved that it was Damon and Farren that gave her a home. They were angered at what had happened to the little girl and the girl’s parents. They were determined to show her love.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I seriously cannot wait for more books in this story. I need Brantley’s story. I loved the snippet of Hope’s story and cannot wait for that when the time comes. Overall, I need every single characters story right now so I can binge read – greedy of me I know but I freaking loved this story!
I think by now, you can tell that I love this book and there wasn’t one thing I disliked. This book is definitely one of my favourite books of 2018 and one of my all time favourite shifter stories.

I’m not usually one for paranormal romance. I’ve read a few, but I tend to prefer books that are more or less based in reality...even if most of the fictitious males I read are pure fantasy, haha. I decided to try this one out because it is written by LeAnn Ashers, under her pen name Teagan Wilde, and for the past three weeks, I’ve been obsessed with her books. Ashers writes excellent Alpha males and in Damon, we see her most Alpha hero yet. Ashers’ creates a Shifter world that is fascinating and well put together, filled with packs of humans who can turn into a specific animal. In it, shifters can be wolves, bears or feline, as well as coyotes and hyenas. They have a specific mate that is created for them, and only them. They cannot be touched by another without feeling pain. Essentially you’re looking at a bunch of hormonal virgins running around, waiting to be struck by Cupid’s bow so they can find their soulmate. This might not sound great, but the instalove and pheromonal aspect of it all is sexy AF. When they meet their mate, boom - that’s it. They are lost - or found, as it were.

In Damon, we meet Ferran, a shifter wolf who is threatened by a rogue shifter who used to belong to her pack. He wants to mate with her, even though they are not matches for each other. At a loss as to how to protect her, her alpha sends her to a new pack of strong males where her brother is beta, or second in command. Little does Ferran know, when she meets Damon, she will find her mate. Damon is everything that an alpha should be. He is protective and caring and strong and a fighter. He is very powerful and can control his pack completely- but he does it in a fair way. I loved seeing how he treated Ferran as his alpha female. They make a perfect pairing. He vows to protect her from the rogue shifter, and she vows to help him build his pack and bring them to the modern age. Together, they face threats to their pack, and threats specifically to Ferran. They bring others into the fold, and work towards making their pack the strongest it can be.

I really liked the romance of the story, and the action scenes were well done. I liked the inclusivity of the pack - they accept mixed breeds and gay couples which is really interesting. I’m hoping that we get to see more about this group and that Ashers writes more books in the series soon. I was left wanting more, which is exactly what an author strives for. I think I’ll go look deeper into the shifter genre now and see what else is out there. As long as I get to read about more hot alphas, I’m definitely game!

It's no secret that I adore paranormal, shifters being my favorite. I have had to step back from them because they were all starting to sound the exact same. I picked up Damon on a whim, missing my shifters, and I'm so glad I did! So many shifter books are all the same nowadays, I'm so glad Teagan Wilde shook it up a bit! I was instantly enthralled in the writing, and these characters? So freaking sweet but with that normal shifter badass that comes from being an animal too. I'm not sure how she blended the sweet and badass together, but she did it well! I'm new to this author, haven't read any of her books under her other name, but I plan on getting acquainted with more of her work. On the run from a sick wolf, Farren decides to join her brother's pack. There she finds way more joy and happiness than she ever experienced.

Farren is a pretty cool chick. She's dominant and not afraid to fight, she also refuses to back down from a fight. Yet she can also be vulnerable and sweet. She balances out really well. Damon is just straight up a hardass with a gooey center. He lives and breathes for his mate and his pack. He wants to change the world and will stop at nothing to do so. These two together spread hope and love while crushing their enemies. They have an amazing group of friends and an amazing pack! I'm really excited to see more of this world!

While I loved everything about this book I will say the absence of contractions are super distracting. Sometimes the dialogue came across as stiff. While it was distracting, the excellent writing pushed me to continue.

I absolutely loved this story. The whole concept was great; I just wish the writing wasn’t so formal. The lack of contractions when characters were thinking or speaking was a little off putting but the overall story was really good.

Farren is leaving her current pack since she hasn’t found her mate and she is receiving unwanted advances from another pack member. The way mates work in this world is pretty cool. If you love a book that has shifter only being able to be with their actual mate, than this is great. The reactions that happen when someone of the opposite sex touches you when they are not your mate really added to the story. I love the idea of only one true mate able to touch them. Farren moves to her brother’s new pack and with that comes her one true mate but also a lot of drama. Farren handles everything like the alpha female she is.

Damon is an alpha that doesn’t really see eye to eye with the other alphas. Most of them are stuck in the old ways but Damon is the type of alpha who accepts everyone no matter what they are. I absolutely loved this about him and not only did he talk the talk he walked the walked and his character really shine sin his actions. When he meets Farren his world changes for the better and together they are a force to be reckoned with.

I look forward to other books in this series and a hopeful that as this author continues to write, her writing style will evolve.

Farren has had enough waiting. Staying with her old pack isn't an option anymore as nothing will ever change. It is too dangerous to be alone so she decides to move to her brother's pack. Damon, as alpha of this new pack takes his position seriously. They need females to make the pack stronger. Shifters can only be with their one true mate and he is awestruck when he meets Farren. Meeting your one is like coming home. Now that they are together, they will do everything in their power to make sure everyone in their pack is safe. With enemies waiting in the shadows, will their love and strength carry them through?

The first book in a new series has a lot of ground to cover and when it is a paranormal, there is even more. I hadn't read paranormal in a while and this was a good re-introduction to it. This is also a safe insta-love story and I am a sucker for insta-love, it is one of my go to tropes when I just want to relax and enjoy. Teagan Wilde does a solid job of establishing this world and the characters. She gives us a solid foundation for the power of finding your mate. Damon and Farren are admirable leaders and really sweet together. The possibilities of this world and the characters to come is very exciting. I really loved Brantley and Jackson, a male wolf and a male bear couple, they were my favorite!! I can't wait to see where Ms Wilde takes us!

I'm always skeptical going into a shifter book or series because sometimes they just don't hit the mark for me, this wasn't the case though in this story because it left me with a happy smile a mile wide and it has me wanting more of all the characters!

Farren has to leave her pack and join with her brothers pack, not because she was forced to but because of an outside force and that's the only way to keep her safe. When she arrives there she is immediately mated with her one true mate. This is the part that I loved, I loved seeing her and Damon find eachother. It was simply beautiful. From there they have all off these outside forces coming in and trying to destroy what they have and what they're building for the future of the shifters where everyone is excepted no matter who they love!

This book hits all of my marks. An OFT alpha male, a woman who is feisty and won't put up with any crap from people but together they are stronger because they always work together instead of butting heads at certain points!

I was incredibly happy with this book and I know you will be to, so what are you waiting for... One click this book and you won't be disappointed!!!

Hurry up Ms. Wilde I need the next one!!!!

Talk about an amazing debut! LeAnn Ashers writing as Teagan Wilde blew me away with her first step into PNR! Shifters have long been a favorite read for me. I’ve probably read hundreds of different takes on shifters and so many have kind of blurred together over the years, but Teagan Wilde has created a truly unique world with her own spin on shifter romance. Full of seriously hot Alphas, diversity, and major swoon Damon is a book that you won’t be able to put down!
I don’t even know where to begin trying to explain just how much I loved every character in this book. From the main couple, Damon and Farren to their amazing friends and family like Brantley and Jackson. There’s something absolutely wonderful about each and every one of them! Damon is the perfect swoony alpha. Literally. The instalove between mates just ramps up that swoon the second he sets eyes on Farren and it continues to get better and better as their story continues.
Farren herself is the type of woman I always adore. A wonderful mix of sweet kindness and complete bad@#$, she had me wishing we were BFFs. An unbelievably awesome start to what seems to be an incredible new series, I cannot wait for more!

I absolutely LOVE me some LeAnn Ashers, so when she decided to try something new as Teagan Wilde, even though it's PNR which I don't normally read, I had to go with it because she's one of my favorite authors, although lately, I've been branching out more. Anyway, it paid off, because she legit wrote a fantastic story that I couldn't put down. Farren is one amazing heroine that I loved so much, as she faced life head on, is strong, with no whining at all. Damon was the alpha of the most infamous pack around, since he welcomes everyone, so it's a shifter pack, not a wolf pack. It also makes it more dangerous, more work for him, and Farren's new pack, as Damon is her mate. So yeah, this story is so much more than just a wolf paranormal story, it's quite original in the telling in my opinion. There's drama of course, obviously action packed situations, romance as Damon & Farren are mates, so sexy times are HOT as well. Oh, and there are twists to let the f-bombs drop because the drama can morph into betrayals as well! I'm super excited about this series, and cannot wait for more! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

okay i was really looking forward to this but the writing was just weird… Like the heroine was very annoying and she kept constantly saying how “strong” she was and that was just annoying i love my feminist characters but it gets annoying and unnatural to a certain point. Like i’m here for a shifter romance, i’m here for some hot alpha male shit not girl shit 😭 and instead of staying how strong she was how about she show us with her actions… also, she complained about other packs making the woman take on a more feminine role when she literally says herself she’s different from them because she’s a “alpha female” well no shit they are gonna take a diff role then you they aren’t alphas 💀 also i hate when authors introduce gay characters for the sake of them being a “token” character it was just cringe and annoying, i hate when they give them all the same annoying personality. literally his first words to her was “hi i’m gay and your new best friend” stfu 😭 ✋ forced inclusion is cringe asf

When the shifter that is pretty much stalking Farren goes rogue, it's decided that Farren should move to her brother's pack where she will be more protected. When she arrives, she barely makes it through the gates when she meets her mate, Damon. Mates are protected and cherished, so when Damon finally gets his, he will make sure that she is safe and never has to worry again... but until the threat is taken care of her life is still in danger. When they realize it's not just Ken they have to worry about but the rest of the shifter world as well, can Damon keep Farren safe? Will they succeed in changing their world for the better?

So I love shifter books, every author has their own take on that world. This has a very good plot, and for the most part this was a really good book. I didn't like how the characters sounded a bit like robots to me. Contractions make the characters sound like people, and make them less stiff sounding. With some shifter violence, a bit of drama, and some just ok naughty times, I give this 3.5 stars.

The world of shifters that co exist mainly hidden in plain sight comes into focus in the first book in a series. A new pack that is battling the archaic traditions of the old ways is ruffling the fur of many alphas. A safe haven for those other shun Damon is the alpha of his new breed of shifter. Inclusion and acceptance is the main goal of his new pack building a future for all those that have no where else to go. Farren finds herself welcomed into this pack as she leaves her own due to a rogue wolf that won’t leave her alone, finding her mate and beginning on a journey of being the alphas mate has her realising her own strength and purpose. This story is really an introduction to this world and it’s characters, setting the scene for more stories to come and laying the foundations for what could be a wonderful series. It was a short, fun read with passion and excitement bubbling under the surface of the plot which was fast paced and laced with danger.

A four star read.
