Let me tell you, Vladdies make zombies look like a band of prancing Strawberry Shortcakes. I was very excited to see The Hunger series return and Jason Brant doesn't disappoint. Taking place two years after the last book, we find Lance and Cass and their child separated and struggling to break free from competing bands of survivors. These days, I usually find the "a band of people try their best to survive the apocalypse" story overplayed and boring. Yet, somehow, Author Jason Brant has found a way to make it interesting again by making characters worth caring for and monsters fascinating enough to fear.

When the author announced that he was picking this series up again I was equal parts excited and anxious that it wouldn't live up to the first three (a little like most star wars films that followed the original trilogy, ha ha). I needn't have worried, it was amazing!

Love these books, this storyline, the characters, everything. The only thing I don't like is that you get sucked into the story and keep reading and reading and then bang you've finished. Silver lining, it definitely leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for #5!! ...more
