Magick & Magnolias

Legacy of Magick #9

by Ellen Dugan

Book 9 in the Legacy Of Magick series Dark, light, or somewhere in between? Magnolia (Maggie) Parrish is descended from two powerful magickal lines; the Bishops and the Drakes. Yet despite her impressive lineage, she is a most reluctant Witch. Years before, Maggie turned her back on her mother’s dark magick, and is completely determined to give her own young child all the stability, normalcy, and happiness that she, herself, never had. Maggie is a professional event coordinator with a solid reputation. There is no bride she can’t wrangle, and no event she can’t handle with a combination of hard work, intuition, and a little southern charm. She can work just about anywhere, so when the opportunity arises Maggie gladly accepts the job of coordinating her new-found cousin, Autumn Bishop’s, wedding. All she has to do is put the past behind her, load up her car, and relocate from Louisiana to Williams Ford, Missouri with her four-year-old daughter, Willow. The presence of a Bishop-Drake hybrid has set the inhabitants of William’s Ford on their ears. Everyone in town is talking, and Maggie tries to ignore it, determined to build a good life despite the intrigue that surrounds her. She meets mystery writer, Wyatt Hastings and finds him odd—yet somehow charming. As Maggie builds up her business, she and Wyatt begin to grow closer. However, there is a sinister side to William’s Ford that Maggie is unaware of, and that many in town seem to have forgotten about. Some legacies cannot be denied, and Maggie is forced to come to terms with her past and her own dark power.

Magical and cant wait to see what happens next.
This series is enchanting . All it characters are interesting, easy to believe in,full of life and magic. The plot of this and the rest of legacy of magic has well thought out and has twists that dont steal the show from any subplots going on with the other characters. Keep this world one that i would much love to visit in real life if it did really manifest .
Will recommend to anyone and have often.
Keep writing Ellen and I keep reading.
Blessed be sister witch.

A bit confusing at first, trying to figure how she fit in with the Drake family. But, none the less the story was entertaining. Don't ever mess with some one's child, cause they will come after you. Magnolia is afraid of her magic, all she has ever seen is the black magic from her mother. Magnolia pretends to be a norm until the day she moves to the Drake estate and things start happening. Magnolia learns the differences between black magic to harm and white magic to heal.

Well I be

You surprised me, Ms Dugan. I enjoyed diving into Magnolias story. After reading about Duncan and Autumn, I admit I did skip ahead to learn about the Southern belle. It was a great read centered around family. If you haven't read the beginning of the series, I wouldn't read this title just yet. It is a LEGACY of Magick after all. My only gripe is I wanted to see more of a romantic connection. I really hope we see the couple again in a future book. 😊

Can't wait for the next book!

I recently discovered this series and I'm thrilled. I reread the first books in the series prior to this one being released. I will be impatiently waiting for Ivy's next adventure and finding out how the rest of the residents of William's Ford are doing. Next November can't get here soon enough.

Ok!

Not for me! There was too much emphasis on what the heroine of the story was doing (usually relating to her work, with lots of detail), rather than conversations and interactions. So a bit sterile! I didn't get past the first few chapters, so it may have got better, but I didn't have the patience to persevere.

Sass and magick

I have always loved the characters that Ellen creates and Magnolia is a great example. A southern woman who does what she feels is best for herself and child. That she struggles with her legacy just endeared her to me even more.

Pure addiction

Once you read the first book in this series you need to read them all. This author ranks right up there with Nora Roberts.

keep going!

Read in order and follow the family through thick and thin….magic, mayhem and a touch of evil. Got to love a good live story!

Entertaining Story

Romance, family dynamics, intrigue, over a healthy filling of magic produce a story that is fun and exciting. I read it strait through.
