En este libro el problema está examinado por un lingüista, a partir de dos vías de acceso. Primero la que va del signo al símbolo, donde se asiste al encuentro ¿fallido? de Freud, de Saussure y de Hjelmslev. Luego la vía del significante, donde hay una vuelta a Saussure, aunque esta vez escoltado por Lacan.

Very erudite book, which went mostly over my head. However, I took a few things from it. The significance (to use a pun) of the theory of the sign to psychoanalytic theory. I also came away a little clearer that semiotics was not a cold discipline rather one of a living system. We acrobatically weave around the bones of language.
