Rumiko Takahashi is one of the wealthiest women in Japan. The manga she creates (and its anime adaptations) are very popular in the United States and Europe where they have been released as both manga and anime in English translation. Her works are relatively famous worldwide, and many of her series were some of the forerunners of early English language manga to be released in the nineties. Takahashi is also the best selling female comics artist in history; well over 100 million copies of her various works have been sold.
Though she was said to occasionally doodle in the margins of her papers while attending Niigata Chūō High School, Takahashi's interest in manga did not come until later. During her college years, she enrolled in Gekiga Sonjuku, a manga school founded by Kazuo Koike, mangaka of Crying Freeman and Lone Wolf and Cub. Under his guidance Rumiko Takahashi began to publish her first doujinshi creations in 1975, such as Bye-Bye Road and Star of Futile Dust. Kozue Koike often urged his students to create well-thought out, interesting characters, and this influence would greatly impact Rumiko Takahashi's works throughout her career.
Career and major works:
Takahashi's professional career began in 1978. Her first published story was Those Selfish Aliens, a comedic science fiction story. During the same year, she published Time Warp Trouble, Shake Your Buddha, and the Golden Gods of Poverty in Shōnen Sunday, which would remain the home to most of her major works for the next twenty years. Later that year, Rumiko attempted her first full-length series, Urusei Yatsura. Though it had a rocky start due to publishing difficulties, Urusei Yatsura would become one of the most beloved anime and manga comedies in Japan.
In 1980, Rumiko Takahashi found her niche and began to publish with regularity. At this time she started her second major series, Maison Ikkoku, in Big Comic Spirits. Written for an older audience, Maison Ikkoku is often considered to be one of the all-time best romance manga. Takahashi managed to work on Maison Ikkoku on and off simultaneously with Urusei Yatsura. She concluded both series in 1987, with Urusei Yatsura ending at 34 volumes, and Maison Ikkoku being 15.
During the 1980s, Takahashi became a prolific writer of short story manga, which is surprising considering the massive lengths of most of her works. Her stories The Laughing Target, Maris the Chojo, and Fire Tripper all were adapted into original video animations (OVAs). In 1984, after the end of Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku, Takahashi took a different approach to storytelling and began the dark, macabre Mermaid Saga. This series of short segments was published sporadically until 1994, with the final story being Mermaid's Mask. Many fans contend that this work remains unfinished by Takahashi, since the final story does not end on a conclusive note.
Another short work left untouched is One-Pound Gospel, which, like Mermaid Saga, was published erratically. The last story to be drawn was published in 2001, however just recently she wrote one final chapter concluding the series

Avevo già deciso di dare 5 ⭐️ nel momento in cui ho realizzato che Ranma era pura gelosia ed era FANTASTICO.
La storia con Shinnosuke è stata perfetta, giuro quasi mi piacevano insieme lui e Akane.
Ma poi Akane che dice “vado a salvare Ranma” “Ranma?” “IL MIO FIDANZATO💕✨💕”

La professoressa Hinako è davveo potentissima: riucirà Ranma a toccarle tutti gli tsubo e sconfiggerla? Un personaggio davvero particolare che ricompare anche in seguito nel volume e che diverte molto per il suo carattere opposto quando usa il suo potere. Ma la parte centrale di questo volume è dedicata ad Akane che accetta la richiesta di andare in un paese sperduto a sconfiggere dei mostri. Lì incontra Shinnosuke, un ragazzo smemorato che l'aveva protetta in passato. La ragazza si sente in debito verso di lui, ma tanto da farle rinunciare a Ranma che la insegue fin lì per aiutarla con i mostri? Questa parte è alquanto seria in molte parti perché indaga maggiormente la psicologia dei due ragazzi e i sentimenti che provano l'uno verso l'altra anche se non vogliono ammetterlo... Ma il divertimento ritorna specialmente sul finale con Mousse e i suoi pericolosi occhiali e con un costume da bagno abitato da un spirito... Ormai Ranma ci ha abituato a tante stranezze ma che ci piacciono e appassionano comunque, no?

Voulant retourner sur un lieu marquant de son enfance, Akané part seule pour la forêt de Higo. Elle y rencontre Shinnosuke, un garçon qui lui était venu en aide lorsque, toute petite, elle avait perdu son chemin. Elle découvre aussi sur place d’étranges monstres qui hantent les lieux. Inquiet de la savoir seule, Ranma part la rejoindre. Se rendant compte de la proximité de la jeune fille avec Shinnoesuke, il sent poindre, sans vouloir l’admettre, un soupçon de jalousie.
rois histoires différentes dans ce volume. La première est de loin la plus longue (plus de 200 pages) et la plus intéressante. On y voit notamment Ranma et Akané exprimer leur attachement réciproque sans ambiguïté, peut-être pour la première fois depuis le début de la série, en tout cas de manière aussi claire. Shinnosuke est l’élément déclencheur, Ranma le voit comme un rival devant lequel il est prêt à s’effacer, même si ça lui brise le coeur. Les deux autres histoires, avec Madame Hinako qui a un crush pour le père d’Akané (au point de vouloir l’épouser) et Mouss qui utilise un objet magique pour humilier Ranma, sont somme toute anecdotiques.

Divertente il capitolo della professoressa Hinako che da minuta e infantile diventa donna sensuale. Bellissimo il viaggio di Akane, finalmente il rapporto con Ranma sta evolvendo. La prof di Akane che si innamora di papà Tendo è carino.

En este tomo pude observar cómo ha crecido la relación entre Ranma y Akane. Puede que no sea explícito, pero si han leído con atención los tomos como yo, ¡se nota!
El final del primer arco es muy, muy, bonito. Y el segundo, bueno, ¡pues me reí mucho!
También pude notar madurez en el diseño de los protagonistas...

première fois que ranma a l'air d'être amoureux de akane, j'ai jamais autant fangirl sur ce manga que dans cette double page, ne pas oser lui dire qu'il s'est inquiété et qu'il est heureux de passer du temps avec elle, c'est une DOUCEUR 🥺

La tapa me retrotrae a un gran tomo de la edición vieja como era el 38. Además, tenemos a la profe Hinako que siempre me hace reír y otros personajes delirantes como es habitué en esta serie, y encima condensado en tomos más gordos como son los de esta edición. Qué cosa, hace poco terminé la relectura y ya me dan ganas de arrancarla de nuevo.
