Greetings from Darbyshire, a town in which wacky and offensive characters struggle mightily against the nature of modernity. "Welcome to the Jungle" is the first installment in the Darbyshire series, and introduces a handful of the fictitious municipality's inhabitants in ferociously punchy short stories.

Darbyshire is a series of meme-grade, literary hail Marys. Like a fun

This book took me by surprise. I got it as a gift for Christmas from my brother. The first thing that really stood out for me was the artwork. The style is like something you'd see in a children's book, which was an interesting juxtaposition to the text. Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because of the Banana Fingers story. It was a little too much for me. My favorite story was Milton the Brave and my second favorite was George Monocle.

My favorite story was probably “Jerry Jerryson”—where the pig experiences the horrors of online dating.

Overall, the stories have a very distinct style, and I was thrilled when the audiobook came out. The narrator’s voice, as well as the character voices, are really funny and bring the book to life.

I know a few people who read it and couldn’t stand it, because they thought it was so offensive, but it was totally my humor. Looking forward to the next book!

Loved this book. It definitely has some trigger issues that are going to make people in the “politically correct” camp want to pull their hair out, but I personally found it intensely funny, well-written, and thoughtful. The artwork was beautiful, too!

Night really my style in a read. But character descriptions were just as vibrant as the pictures and so very memorable. Humor was great. Made me laugh or at least prompted a few guilty snickers (laughing when I know I shouldn’t be but too funny not to).

Hilarious and thought provoking!

Challenging the norms of today in a fun wacky world. Not for someone who takes themselves too seriously. Can't wait for more from the author!
