Though this comic remains fairly episodic throughout this volume, a number of threads are beginning to wind together into something greater ... and there are a few great issues in this volume, including the quattro attack on Mars, the visit to the great library, and the visit to the church's of cherneko. It's also a treat seeing the return of both Konstatin and the General's Daughters -- Nexus needs enemies and these are great ones.

More than any volume since the first, this one walks to the line

The treads that lead up to issues 50-51 are starting to wind together in earnest in this volume, which makes it well worth reading. The politics of Ylum and the web, the moral compromises the characters make and the consequences of those compromises all hold together very well.

The interplanetary executioner Nexus must cope with not only taking out powerful villains but negotiate tricky political waters and defends religion against the Sov oppressors. This 1980s/1990s series holds up, though the USSR analogy hasn't aged so well.
