From the outside looking in, Pastor Solomon and his wife, Naomi, seem to have it all; from a lavish lifestyle to leadership of one of Atlanta’s most prominent megachurches. The only thing wrong is his family's transgressions.
Solomon is struggling to keep his family together, all while trying to maintain his position in the church; when a man from his past shows up, threatening to expose his secrets. Will Solomon be thrust back into the grimy streets of Chicago, that he once left? Will he spill blood to protect his family?
STONE COLD ASSASSIN is a fast-paced novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat as every dirty lie is exposed. The question, in the end, is who will be left standing in this chilling urban thriller!!
Solomon, the former street assassin turned preacher, his family, his church and his past
The story opens with Solomon married and a preacher of his own church with a wife on a cocaine and 2 adult children ( 1 stripper, 1 killer) doing their own thing and unaware of their father’s bloody past. Someone from Solomon’s former life comes to him looking for “The Shadow” and this is when the chaotic madness ensues. The Good- The Shadow is the most notorious killer the streets have ever seen and everyone fears him. When someone appears to have taken something that belongs to him. He goes on a murderous rampage filled with betrayal and twists at every turn. Many characters are introduced so pay attention and everyone is untrustworthy and more deadly than the last. Great story, interesting characters, and a good cliffhanger. The Shadow was cold, emotionless and sexy. I was completely engaged and it was easy to follow. Well until Chapter 18 and then ………….
The Bad- Up until Chapter 18, the story had little to no errors and I was completed engaged. The story was easy to follow. And then it appears as if the editing job was done from Chapter 18 on. The errors became a huge distraction and began to cause serious confusion. There was incorrect word usage, character mix-ups, missing plot information, and redundancy. The fact that Shadow was this most “dangerous/notorious killer” became almost comical. You got the feeling that if a character needed something to say, this was mentioned. It literally was on every 3rd or 4th page. As the story evolved it became chaotic. There was a betrayal, someone returning from the dead or some other “twist”. This story that started with so much promise was ruined by lack of a final read through. I loved the plot, liked the supporting characters although it became a bit much to remember who was double-crossing whom. Because of the first 17 chapters, I wanted to see how the story ended and who was left standing. But, I found myself skimming pages, because it was now a superficial story riddled with errors in literally every paragraph. This made for a confusing read as I attempted to figure out what the author meant to say. Examples: Example of a confusing dialogue- Vello made Solomon promise him something before they go on a job together. He looks at Shadow and says “don’t tell myself about this”…there was no point of reference for me as a reader. What was the promise? Was it significant? The confusing dialogue between Shadow and a street soldier “you just a young buck in training, what are you doing here? “ the street soldier responds “ I to use the phone, “ Random: The big reveal of how Vello became boss was actually the least shocking revelation of all. I was expecting something major after the build-up. Everyone “bucks” and either has a gun shoved in their mouth, hit in the head with a butt of the gun, shot or the other person backs down quickly or attempts to buck back and gets shot. It made no sense. Everyone can’t be deadly and dangerous When did the bartender reveal star had a child? That whole passage was missing A blind mother is in the house with 2 separate shootouts and heard no gunfire? During the second she’s asleep and remains asleep when someone goes underneath her mattress to remove guns. I assume silencers were used each time even though shotguns were also used? I don’t know.
I hope the author finds their footing in the sequel. This was an excellent story ruined by not reviewing the final product before publishing. (That's my two cents)
Oh my god! This was a well written book with so many lies, secrets, twists and turns. Storyline was on point. I loved how he tied all the characters together to bring forth the truth. He left no secrets untold. Every page I turned made me want to read more. I couldn’t put the book down until I completed it. I was visualizing the schemes as I was reading. I look forward to reading the next part. BRAVO! You did an awesome job. It’s a must read!
THIS BOOK!!!!! Omgeeee! I don’t know where to start! Look I absolutely loved this freaking book! I wish that I was able to leave a voice message just so y’all could hear my excitement about this book. This book took me on a wild ride. Just when I thought I had it figured out, BOOM another twist popped up. Even with grammatical errors I still feel like this story was beyond amazing. This was my first read from this author and it won’t be my last.
All the characters in this book had a secret. Solomon tried to give up the life of killing but he just couldn't. There was so much drama and killing in this book. You would have thought loyalty would stand with family surprise me even family would killed each other. This book was a page-turner from beginning to end
Man this book was the shit. Solomon is that deal. This book had me on my toes the whole way through. When you the king and everyone wants to sit on your throne they come gunning for you. Family means nothing to no one. They must have forgot Shadow was the king for a reason. I wish it was a part two to this book cause I still want more.💕💟
It start off grabbing your attention. Storyline was well written. Characters was well developed with enough information on them to understand their role in the story. Every page had action. I don't know which was my favorite character. But I know Solomon is. I can't wait to read about Erica. I don't know why she thinks she is the one. A great read...
This book right here was worth 10 stars. This book had so many suprises I didn't know what was going on. I had to go back to read parts because I didn't know if I missed something. All I can say is pay attention because this book was will written. You did your thing in this one!!!
This book has an amazing story line. Plot twist after plot twist. Nobody is safe and NOBODY is loyal. The only thing I can’t ignore is the book has HELLA grammatical errors. It’s ridiculous 🤦🏾♀️ other than that I do recommend this read
This family was very dysfunctional Soloon and all his kids. Joeph , Imani and their siblings was crazy. Shadow was full in afect. I hope there is a spin off. Want to know what happen to Shadow
This book was full of action and surprises from the beginning to the end. That Solomon is a true boss and soldier. I didn't give it five stars because was not edited very well half way through
Omg! Loved this book from start to finish! This should be a movie, felt like I was on a emotional rollercoaster! This family is True ly Dysfunctional. Very well written, loved all the Characters! Major Drama, I need part 2

This book was good, could have been great. So many typo's, too many missing words. I felt like I was playing fill in the blanks. Please rerelease this book. Twists and turns were awesome. So many surprises. I loved that. The storyline was really good as well.
Man talk about a family of killers. This family had ruthless running through their veins. Nobody was safe and nobody could be trusted. Solomon aka Shadow have what they say nine lives. I can't wait to see when he goes after Erica.
I would have given this book 5* but the editing was poor toward the middle of book until the end. Great story but it had to many dead people coming back to life. There was definitely a lot of twists and turns you never see coming. First book I’ve read by this Author.
A good read that would have been a five star read if there weren't so many errors. The characters are interesting, well developed and all intertwined. The storyline is great with plenty of drama. Would love to read more about Solomon.
Solomon had many lives, who knew he had all these offf springs running around. Every time you think you had it figured out boom something else happens....
Page Turner!!! This was a great read. It was action packed from the beginning. However, there were many grammatical errors. My first book read by the author.
