From international bestselling author Nicole S. Goodin, comes a new standalone, second chance romance.
Andrew Woodman. Andy to his friends. Criminal in the eyes of the justice system. ... And now a free man.
Dylan Davies. Fiery redhead. Hater of bad-boys. ... And still his wife.
Three years ago, Andy took a ride in the back of a police car and out of Dylan's life. Now he's fresh out of prison with only one goal in mind - win back the woman who wants nothing to do with him. Dylan wants to get over her convict ex-husband, but all she can think about doing is getting under him.
Andy wants to share his truths. Dylan wants to keep her secrets.
Will the raw, sexy attraction that reeled Dylan in all those years ago have the same charm now? Or will Andy find himself riding his bike into the sunset alone?

Andy and Dylan’s story was a second-chance romance. This married couple were unexpectedly torn apart for 3 years and when Andy comes back, he’s determined to pick up where they left off...but Dylan has other ideas!
Having already ready MR OCTOBER, I decided to go back to the beginning of the CALENDAR BOYS series and work my way through them all. MR JANUARY was a sweet, easy read and i really enjoyed it.
This is the first book in the Calendar Boys series and believe me if I had my way Mr. January would be hanging around for the whole damn 12 months. Andy and Dylan's story is one that will have you hooked from the start, it will have you intrigued, on the edge of your seat and have you so entranced that you will not be able to put this book down. Their story is full of secrets, guilt, passion and an undeniable love that will be hard for either of them to walk away from. Truths will need to be faced, forgiveness given and acceptance of the past to be able to finally move forward. A second chance romance that is witty, steamy, frustrating and at times heartbreaking. Mr January is a month everyone will look forward to because who doesn't love a bad boy mechanic.
Mr January is one hot as hell bad boy and romantic ex-jailbird!
Even knowing Andy was a crim, my heart broke for him. Life inside had stagnated for him, while his wife had continued living and tried to move on ‘without him’. I was only 13% into the book and already so invested in Andy’s feelings. What I didn’t realise until later on, was that Dylan had her own struggles to deal with in his absence, and despite being an independent and professional woman in her right, things were extremely difficult for her. I just cried.
The feelings that Nicole Goodin writes into her characters just radiate from the pages. I felt Andy’s vulnerability even as he hid it under his cocky attitude, and, also Dylan’s frustration at the choices her husband seemed to have made. If you haven’t picked up from my words so far, I’m team Andy all the way! He is everything that makes a perfect book boyfriend in my opinion: gorgeous, built, muscular and tattooed bad boy mechanic, who has picked up cooking skills in the clink because his wife always wanted a man who could cook. I also loved his best friend, Jeff, who tried to be there for Dylan, until she cut him out of her life as surely as she had cut Andy out.
Dylan’s BFF, Sarah, is as funny as a fight, and as loyal a friend as anyone could wish for. She’s been there for Dylan during Andy’s incarceration, and is all about Dylan staying strong and moving on without her ex-crim soon-to-be ex-husband, UNTIL she sees the aforementioned man and agrees that Andy has indeed come out of prison hotter than before, and, is even more romantic. Suddenly, she’s firmly perched upon the fence!
As I moved through the story, there were continual hints that all is not as it seemed, and I was truly hooked. Andy insists that he never lied to Dylan, and that of all things, she never asked if he actually did what he had been locked up for! Summer weather be damned, I had to finish this book, and I sat on my ar$e and read, while my family carried on around me. The thread of suspense reeled me in.
Mr. January is one hell of a great start to this Calendar Boys series. I wonder how it is that Ms Goodin can put tension and humour together in one sentence, thus is her gift of writing that seems to unfurl with each book that is released. I was however, surprised that the plot seemed to wrap up very conveniently and quickly at the end. It might have been an aside to the main story of the relationship between Andy and Dylan, but, it was still at the very heart of where and why their story went wrong in the first place.
4.5 Stars from me, and a recommendation to you to pick up this book and begin the series.
Andy and Dylan love each other, but seeing him in the back of a police car, than sentenced to three years in prison, was a lot, too much in fact, for her to take. She wants a divorce, but Andy, not a free man once again, insists he's innocent. Not only that, but he's determined to win her back. He never stopped loving her. despite the fact she kept sending him divorce papers while he was gone.
Dylan agrees to give him a second chance, her heart yearning for him even if her mind is saying to keep her distance. Andy asked for and receive seven days to prove to her that they belong together and always have. He intends to go all out to win her back. Nothing will stop him from gaining her heart...the thing is, he never lost it.
Can Andy convince Dylan of his innocence? Or will she continually punish him for his supposed mistake? Will they get the HEA they've always wanted?
One-click now and follow along as a couple must overcome the obstacles between them. I love the premise, but have to admit I'm disappointed in Dylan's seemingly lack of trust in her husband. Yes, I understand that things looked back, and he was convicted, but she should've trusted him despite that. I know guilty people claim innocence all the time, but it felt almost as if she didn't WANT to believe him, and maybe that stems from an insecurity of hers. I do like that Andy didn't give up on her, he fought for her, for their love, and that, to me, made the book worth it. - By Elizabeth
i truly enjoyed this book!! you felt bad for both sides Andrew/Andy/Drew (so many nicknames lol) for doing 3 years of jail for a crime he didnt do and Dylan for dealing with 3 years without her husband and some major stuff that went down. Another thing i enjoyed about Andrew he was faithful in jail (he was no bitch or taking any guy also no manwhore!!) those 5 days he was out of jail he only thought of one person. thats a true alphaa one woman man!! even if his wife wanted a divoce he fought back.. 1 week to make her fall in love with him.. if it didnt happen he would set her free.. can he handle the secert she kept?
Low angst, no ow drama but Dylan mentioned she did try to date when he was locked up.. but she never slept around.. drama, no cheating, secondary chara no details(only mentioned they did it)
Absolutely no depth to the book. It was a quick read. But very predictable. Also, can we use more words than “Jesus Christ” to have commentary back and forth between characters.
Andrew Woodman, Andy to me because I am now a friend. He will make you fall in love with him just like Dylan did. He is handsome, charming, and loves his wife with everything h e has, He is also a little reckless which is why he spent 3 years in prison for something he didn't do. He lost everything; his freedom and his wife. Dylan is full of fire. She had me when she comes to his work place full of shouting and full of anger. Dylan wants a divorce, She has been after one for the 3 years he was away. Andy wants his wife back. He asks for a week to make her fall in love with him again. It's a week Dylan dreads because she has secrets. One is that she never stopped the loving him. The other could end them. Read all about their week and see how it all ends.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Who knew a criminal could be so romantic (and sexy and down right drool worthy)?
Andy certainly makes you stop and think about things a different way. After getting out of prison he goes home and after the one thing he never wanted to let go... his wife.
But she’s not so keen on letting him back into her life. Can you blame her? After watching him get thrown in the back of a cop car and taken away in handcuffs, why should she give him another chance.
The only thing she didn’t count on was Andy’s doggerel determination to convince her that perhaps all is not it seems.
Loved this book! Loved the sweet, sexy and steamy side of Andy only to be countered by the sassy stubbornness of his wife
Nicole Goodin’s new standalone was definitely a wonderful story.
Mr January introduces us to Andrew and Dylan and their less than perfect married life. Two very headstrong personalities but both, characters who endear themselves to you.
Andrew must prove his innocence to his estranged wife of a felony he’s already done time for but Dylan must overcome her mistrust and finally see to the core of the man she truely loves.
A great story setup and wonderful characters make this a totally enjoyable and steamy story.
This is the first book in a new series, and what a wonderful introduction this is! Andy had just been released from prison after serving 3 years, and the first thing he wants is his wife. Dylan just wants a divorce, and Andy wants to stay married, so he convinces her to make a deal with him. This is a beautifully written story, which is humorous, entertaining, emotional, heart-warming, gritty, intense, and a fantastic second chance romance story. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
This is the first book in a series. I love a good second chance romance, and this one does not disappoint. I really like Dylan and Andy. They are perfect for each other. I really liked that they were able to overcome their past. I loved her friends, also. I am looking forward to reading the next installment in this series.
I'm a sucker for second chances. I don't care if they struggle, instantly jump into bed or fight it out- as long as they get a second chance at a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and got a kick out of Dylan and her bestie's conversations. Andy/Andrew/Drew really brought on the "heat"!
Nicole wrote a wonderful story about a second chance at love! Dylan wants a divorce, Andy has a plan to win back his wife in seven days! Amazing ending, amazing start to the Calendar Boys Series!
This was an enjoyable read. Andy is at works one day and Dylan shows up. She wants him to sign the divorce papers. He insists that she gives 7 days to fall in love again. Of course along the way we find out the truth and they end up with their happy ending.
Love a good quick rom-com. And throw in a gorgeous ex-convict and a wife that wants nothing more than a divorce, but Andy is not willing to go without a fight. The back and forth and banter were so good, and loved watching them get reacquainted and grow from some past trauma.
Messy messy messy! And I loved every second! What a beautiful story of heartbreak and second chances. There’s drama and chaos from the very first sentence, leaving me to NEED to know everything right away. Three years behind bars changed a lot of things, but it never faltered Andy’s love for Dylan. Unfortunately, those three years all but ripped Dylan apart. So much of that pain could have been prevented. But you can’t change the past. Andy makes sure he gets the opportunity to mend their future. Everything has always been, and will always be, for her. Dylan lets her walls down, and stops fighting it when she knows she doesn’t want to. And when everything is completely laid out in the open, I had to put the book down and breathe for a minute. For their pain, for Andy, for myself. But then the most beautiful of things happen, and Andy and Dylan get the happily ever after they deserved. I’m so sad I found this series in February and not January. But now I definitely plan on reading each corresponding book each month!

Another awesome read by this author. I read this in one sitting and I loved it.
Their story is full of secrets, guilt, passion and an undeniable love that will be hard for either of them to walk away from. Truths will need to be faced, forgiveness given and acceptance of the past to be able to finally move forward.

Nicole Goodin brings us a sweet and swoony second chance romance with Mr. January in her brand new series, Calendar Boys. This is the perfect book for when you’re looking for a quick and easy read with a tattooed bad boy and a sassy heroine that brings you the feels with an HEA included.
Andy has just finished serving a 3 year prison sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, when his wife, Dylan, serves him divorce papers. Andy won’t sign the papers because he is still deeply in love with her and is willing to prove his worth and his innocence. He strikes a deal with Dylan giving him one week to make her fall in love with him again, and if she doesn’t, then he signs the papers and walks away from her for good.
Both characters have heaps of chemistry and the steam between the two rolls off the pages. The only negative I have about it is that there wasn’t any sex scenes! It was implied that they got down and dirty between the sheets, but it was more of a curtain closed, fade to black type of sex where we know it happens, we just don’t see it.
Mr. January was a good start to the series and a book will be released each month to give us a new man to drool over.
2.5 stars. I was drawn in by the second chance romance troupe and the cover. I immediately thought with a play on "Calendar boys", it being a romance novel, and the cover I would get at least some good steam / spice. I was sadly mistaken. So to clear it up - there is no spice here. It is more fade to black than some of the YA books I have read. If that is your thing, that is fantastic and this could be a book for you maybe.
So Mr. January is a clean second chance romance between Andy and Dylan as they attempt to overcome their past, secrets, and guilt.
This is my first book by the author and while I loved the beginning of the book feeling like it had lots of promise, the second half was a let down for me. By about 70% through the book I found that I was skimming and reading dialogue only, which is not something I generally do. I felt too far into the book to DNF it, so the skimming began. Things that contributed to this is some of the banter was hard for me to get through, it felt very childish without adding anything to the story or world building. Personally the let down after 80% of the book being building tension to only end up with it being fade to black. Overall feeling of missing or not addressed plot points, and lastly having no tie into the title or the actual idea of calendar boys.
Drew just spent three years in jail for a crime he insists he didn't commit. Dylan wants a divorce but she agrees to give Drew seven days to try and change her mind and give their marriage a second chance. What she didn't count on was Drew pulling all the stops to get her back, and boy, was I glad he did. The chemistry between those two was off the chart!
I laughed, I cried (mostly happy tears), and yes I totally wanted to be Dylan... Who wouldn't want a bad boy covered in tattoos who rides a Harley and only shows his marshallow soft side to you?
A great start to the Calendar Boys series!

A captivating second chance romance story. Quite entertaining and amazing chemistry characters. It is well-written, I enjoyed reading. It was a pleasure to review.
Title: Mr. January Series: Calendar Boys Book #1 Stand Alone Title: yes Author: Nicole S. Goodin Genre: Romance, Contemporary Blurb: Andrew Woodman. Andy to his friends. Criminal in the eyes of the justice system. ... And now a free man.

This is a standalone story. Favorite quote(s)/excerpt(s): “I want one week, Dylan. I want you to give me one week.” “One week for what?” she asks as her eyes dart between my face and a spot off in the distance. She’s nervous – I can hear the uncertainty in her voice. “To be my wife,” I growl possessively. “I want seven days to show you what a terrible f&*$@ing idea this divorce is. I just need a week to make you fall in love with me again.” Thoughts: I just discovered this author, and I have devoured every book out in the series thus far in a week! The books are awesome, each one stand alone and just a little different from the last. Mr. July happens to be my personal favorite, however this one follows quickly behind. I’ve always been a sucker for a guy trying to get his girl back – and the author writes the emotions with such intensity, that I really feel for these characters. Andy is a great guy who winds up in prison due to being a little naïve and wanting to make fast money at the expense of himself. He got caught up in circumstances that were bigger than himself and ends up being the fall guy. Unfortunately, that means leaving behind his wife while he serves time for a crime he didn’t do. While he’s not guilty, he’s not completely innocent either, and that’s enough for Dylan to want to move on from their relationship. She’s been through a lot since he got put behind bars. Of course, Andy is not willing to let go to the best thing he ever had, and he gears himself up for the fight of his life! I usually don’t like the ‘jailbird’ theme…lol….but in this case the author really pulled it off. I wound up really enjoying this novel. This author has won over a new fan, and I’ll pick up anything from her without question! Rating: A Review by: Sarah http://www.thebookreadinggals.com
Mr January is the first book in the Calendar Boys series and I have never enjoyed January so much, a fantastic start to the series taking you on a rollercoaster of emotions as Goodin gives you Andy and Dylan’s story.
3 years; that’s how long Andy has been away from his wife, when divorce papers kept showing up, he ignored them now that he is a free man It is hard to ignore her. When an ultimatum is given, he has 7 days to prove that she loves him. When the secrets start to surface Andy and Dylan are left reeling from the guilt and find solace in each other finally starting the life they deserve.
Andy is a mechanic, he loves hard and would do anything for his wife; being naive wasn’t a good idea for his future but he learnt his lesson the hard way. Dylan is strong, independent and a firecracker; she has demons that haunt her making her feel guilty every day.
“I told you he’s got even better looking.” “They should put him on a calendar or something, it’s just ridiculous.”
Andy and Dylan are not short on chemistry, they have it. Anytime they are in a room together you can feel the tension in the book rise, even with the guilt and secrets they cannot stop wanting each other; when you peel back the layers, they are raw and their sexual chemistry will burn through the pages.
This was my first time reading Goodin’s work and I personally loved every second of it, the idea of getting a new couple every month has me marking the days off the calendar waiting for the next installment.
