Where do I find something like that?' and the search begins as the poet steps into a voice that is stepping into every light refracting from this prism in the center of their chest. this is giving birth to all one's ghosts. giving them voice, forms, breaks, breadth and breath ...more

A thoughtful wonder of a book! I'll link to full review once it finds a home to publish it.

Lovely, also too short. Favorites: "Invocation for my own voice," "Lion honey," and "Compel."

The poems in this collection are incredibly brave and compelling. Maybe they are haunted, but they make me rejoice in all the ways the author found survival, and all the ways we can transcend our traumas. Lyd is an incredible truth teller, a true story teller. Their words are good medicine.

This is a brief chapbook of energetic poems by a poet who has something to say. Havens has a strong command of the language and a well developed skill at writing poetry which keeps the reader's attention. I hope to read more poems from Havens soon.
