Hands down the best book of the series yet! The “Werewolves, Vampires and Demons, Oh My” series continues with book three, and the witch we met in book 2, Willow. After the strange events at Mr. Peabody’s cannibalistic house, we know the demons are not going down easily. They are running amok and killing witches. Why? Because they are tasty, of course!
Willow is working with the TDCM to figure out the demon issue (that is, when they condescend to let her in the front door). Those snooty wizards have no use for a mere witch, and make sure she knows it. They wouldn’t know how to solve the problem with two hands and a flashlight, but still they refuse her help. Whatever. Willow has a bigger concern in that her kitten has disappeared, and has more than likely been possessed or eaten by a demon.
Enter Alistair – hotter than hot, smoother than smooth, and a puzzle waiting to be solved. When he takes over the investigation, he realizes the benefit to having Willow on his team – despite the position of previous lead investigating wizard. Together they have to find the source of the demon infestations, and shut it down before the world is overrun. Hidden powers, secret identities, and an overwhelming family bring a richness to the story that will keep you guessing until the very end.
