I haven’t felt so capture by a book in such a long time. That aching feeling when you have to stop reading and try to have a productive day even though your thoughts are all about when you’ll be able to read again.

Maybe it's you was just so compelling.
First of all, it wasn’t what I thought it would be whatsoever. It was so much deeper, so much better, so much more.
This book is about Love and the fact that we love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). But most of all, it's about Faith and that
Maybe it’s You was a refreshing read that felt very real and unpretentious. It was on the edgy side, in a college setting, and there were some situations that these characters got into that may make some Christian fiction readers uncomfortable. In my opinion, all was handled in an appropriate manner and I found this story to be realistic in the trials and temptations that these characters faced.

The main character, Reagan, spent a good portion of the book as a non-believer. I really enjoyed her f

An edgy story of life choices and changed lives

Maybe It's You was an interesting book and not what I was expecting. While the story-line was exactly as the synopsis described, how the story was written was the surprise.

I didn't like Reagan at the start of the story. In fact, after I read the first couple of chapters, I went back to read the synopsis again, afraid that I had agreed to read a book for a tour that wasn't the clean story I had thought it was... Then I saw that, yes, this is New Adul

. My first book by this author. I grabbed it off Netgalley because I liked the cover (isn’t it cute?). I’m actually having a hard time rating it, going back and forth between 3.5 stars and 4 (do we have to have a star system?) because there were things I really liked about it but I also thought it could have used some editing. Not comma misplasement or typos or anything but more cutting and trimming of content here and there. But the things I liked—the uniqueness of the story. The redemptive arc ...more

Reagan Bellamy has her whole life planned out. So when her neighbor starts showing her some attention, she completely shuts him out. Dash Carter refuses to take no for an answer from the only girl who has caught his attention in months. When I initially read this part of the synopsis, I expected this to be a hate to love relationship much like The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I don’t mind that trope, but I really didn’t like the way it was done in this novel. I feel like we missed a lot of the b ...more

Reagan was walking across Addison State University campus. There wa sa predawn sky and Reagan was walking the walk of shame. Reagan had drank a of of shots the night before than her roommates and best friends let her leave the bar with her worst nightmare and freshman mistake . Than again her junior mistake. She finally got to her apartment complex and headed to her apartment when she seen Dash. He was the last person Reagan wanted to see feeling her worst. A wave of nausea plummeted her shaky s ...more

"Maybe It's You" is an inspirational romance that follows two college-aged neighbors, Dash and Reagan. Dash has recently found religion and is on a dating sabbatical while he fits into his new religious life. Before that, he was a rockstar with all the trappings, including alcohol and drug abuse. Realizing his life wasn't going the way he wanted it to, he found the church and God, which helped him to separate himself from that life and find a new path forward. He has had a crush on the girl next ...more

This book completely took me by surprise. I knew going in that it was a Christian based book with romantic elements but the surprise was how much depth was in the book. Most NA authors gloss over most aspects of college life and give us just the partying/sex life that goes on. Ms. Hayes, however, chooses to show us how friendships are formed and sometimes broken a bit, romance doesn't have to be all sex, all the time and that finding God in your life isn't all that bad. It only enhances the life ...more

Christy Hayes is a new author for me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. And I will say I was pleasantly surprised at how well I liked this book, and how well it is written. Reagan really couldn’t stand Dash Carter, but for some reason he’d had a crush on her for a long time. It’s after Dash found Jesus, that he gave up his life of drugs, sex and partying during and after each gig he and his band preformed. But now his new band preforms in church, which Reagan finds out af

Maybe it’s You, a new adult book by a new-to-me-author, is edgy and stimulating. It has a true-to-life feel, with all the mottled emotions, desires, and rough edges of twenty-somethings. As Reagan and Dash try to discover their own spiritual, career, and life paths, former mistakes and pains threaten to derail them.

Reagan Bellamy is not super likeable in the beginning of the story, but she grows on you. She keeps others at an arm’s length and is focused on her education. The problem is she is in

This inspirational romance appropriately depicted the edgy and sometimes uncomfortable subjects of 20 something college-aged young adults. The main character, Reagan, has only one experience with church, and it’s not pleasant. No wonder she stresses out when she’s tricked into going to church. (You’ll love this part of the book.)

Regan is more comfortable with a planned, know-what-comes-next kind of life because her childhood was anything but. Edgy Regan is a spitfire. Her, snarky attitude, blun

This is not your grandma’s (or even your mother’s Christian fiction). Maybe It’s You is sometimes gritty but true to its characters. Reagan and Dash attend a liberal school and are part of that culture.
I appreciated that Dash is fairly new in his faith and Reagan spends most of the book searching for truth with her academic brain. But more so, I appreciated that Christy Hayes did not steer away from true-to-life situations for her characters.

Be warned, this book has alcohol, drugs, and talk of a

You never know what to expect from a new-to-you-author.

But from the first chapter I knew this book would be real.

Christy didn't hold back on the truth and what an unbelievers life looks like. I was so Reagan at one point in my life. Coming home with hangover, puking at inconvenient times. Not proud of it. But that was me lost.

Dash is a great hero. He too has come from a lot of mistakes but he is on the journey to growing deeper in his faith. He was a lot like me when I first came to know Chri

I'm really sorry about giving it such a low score, but I found it too misleading.
I thought this would be a cute romance with a couple that would be alright with their religious beliefs. Apparently I was wrong.

The characters are OK and I found their own faith inspiring, but I just think I was not the intended audience.

This book was a good surprise for me. It started out in a way I wasn’t sure I wanted to read but I soon realized that there was a message that would speak to a wide range of people and perhaps break some stereotypes. Not long into the book I was invested in the characters and rooting for Dash and Reagan.

Dash is a musician who pretty much lived his life in the gutter until he found Jesus. In the middle of a sabbatical from dating he finally has contact with the girl he’s been secretly admiring f

Honestly, it has been a while since I read any Christian fiction, and I didn't realize that's what this book was, so I was skeptical, to say the least. I appreciated the message of inclusivity and featuring nonjudgemental Christians without compromising the heart of faith. Regan's journey independent of her budding romance with Dash was heartfelt and honest, and her struggles to accept and understand the impossible story of the Bible was heartwarming and kind. Regan and Dash's romance was defini ...more

I really hated the start of the book. Reagan coming home from a one night stand with a terrible hangover was not a good start. However, I liked the change and growth of the characters throughout the book. This is a very Christian book in that lots of Christian doctrine is taught and discussed throughout the book. I happen to be Christian so enjoyed the journey of faith that both Reagan and Dash were making.

Christy Hayes has penned an engaging, realistic, and beautiful story of two young people battling an intense attraction as one of them is putting every effort into growing in his newfound faith.

Dash and Reagan are neighbors. Even though she can acknowledge that he's gorgeous and charming, his lifestyle as a musician just doesn't mesh with her goals and dreams. Dash is absolutely gone for Reagan. She was never one of his groupies when he fronted the super successful college town band, and he tr
Maybe It’s You is an inspirational contemporary romance. The main character, Reagan, was an idealist and not a believer. Dash, her neighbor, harbouring a crush on her eversince tricked her into attending a Sunday service wherein Reagan was “trapped” into. That’s where Reagan and Dash began their journey, together and individually.

I love this story. Honestly. It is my first Christian-inspired book that I’ve read and actually enjoyed it. It talks about your faith, be it a believer or non-believer,

Not your typical Christian Romance! Definitely a refreshing departure from standard Christian romance where the characters are already Christian, with very realistic circumstances in today's world. Dash is a bad-boy in the middle of a year-long dating sabbatical to get his life back on track without distractions. Regan is focused on school, her future and judgemental of those around her and would never give Dash a second look. Until she's desperate to make it to an interview on time and he's her ...more

As a Christian myself, I did not enjoy the mega-church aspect of this book. It felt like someone who has never really attended much church trying to write a religious setting. The concert style performances and coffee shoo vibes were off putting and sad. That being said, the faith aspects were fairly accurate and authentic, if a little cheesy and overly simply at times. The story itself, however, was addictive, the plot was uplifting, and the characters were charming. There’s no subtlety to the ...more

* I received a copy of this book from the author as part of a blog tour*All opinions are my own.

I was a little weary when I chose to review this book. Normally I won't read a book that brings in a lot of religion, and if I don't know about it going in I will skim or skip those parts altogether. But this book kept me reading every single word!
I couldn't put it down and was up reading until I finished it at 5 am.

This was a surprise for me, Christian romance not typically being my thing. The way Dash sprung church on Reagan wasn't cool, but it all made sense for the journey.

Well-written, engaging, and sweet, I think this works well within the genre.

This book was a total surprise for me, at first I was attracted to it because of the plot I read and also the cover, but as I keep reading it I discovered a lot more.

Yes, at first you may feel that it is just another love story with the hot guy and the beautiful girl. But you will find out that there is more than that, the author has developed the story in a totally different way that most of us are used to. This book does not only focuses on romantic relationships but also on true friendship an

When Reagan Bellamy stumbles into her hot as sin neighbor, she isn’t expecting much from the bad boy guitarist. He’s got a reputation, and she’s got priorities: school, work, and her future. She doesn’t have time for a relationship with Dash, or anyone else for that matter. But when Dash tricks her into attending church, she starts to realize a relationship with God might be what she needs.

This book isn’t exactly what I expected. But I’m glad I read it. The book as much depth to it, it’s not a surface read. I don’t read a lot of YA anymore but this one is one you shouldn’t miss, as I noticed this one doesn’t glorify the partying and sex aspect of college life.

The story shows us how some friendships are formed then fail and that romance isn’t all about sex and lust. And that finding God, is a good thing and how it elevates your life.

Our h is Reagan who lets certain experiences de

This was a story of someone becoming Christian after living a pretty secular life and a new Christian coming together. I thought the conversion process and romance felt realistic. The author can tell a good story and hold your interest. Lot's of talk about Jesus, scripture and prayer. The one thing that gave me pause was the writing of the very big physical attraction of the two romantic interest and one roomate and her boyfriend who were also Christian. It left me wondering what their thoughts ...more
