The Boys of the Big Easy is a fantastic series, but holy hot firehose, Nicholas has really pulled out all the stops on this one! Hot, hilarious, and heartfelt, this one grabbed me tight and wouldn’t let go. You definitely need to meet our hero, Caleb. Lieutenant Caleb Moreau is used to barking out orders, saving people from burning buildings and being the man with all the answers. But when Mr. “Overprotective, Over-Reactive, Always-Has-To-Be-the-Fixer” finds someone he loves in a situation he can't fix, he doesn’t know what to do.

As single parents, Caleb and Lexi share childcare duties, which becomes even more convenient when she and her son move in with Caleb and his niece. Maybe now they'll have a chance to act on their feelings, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that Lexi has particular desires that only Caleb can fulfill. But living together 24/7 makes them realize that they really don’t know each other all that well, and there's a lot more to work out than what works for them both in the bedroom.

Nobody does rom-coms quite like Nicholas. She strikes the perfect balance between steaminess, humor and heart, and I’m always sad when the book comes to an end. Caleb is a mega dose of both alpha-protector and big squishy heart that, along with Lexi, makes me want to hug him and punch him in equal measure. And although Lexi is young, deferential and the epitome of a caregiver, don’t let that fool you, because this gal has a spine of steel and doesn’t hesitate to go after what she wants. Then there’s the great big loveable mess of Cajun friends and their ladies who are as close as family. They’re larger than life, eternally endearing and always hilarious. The guys are also 21st century enlightened men who see the value of a romance book club. ;-)

And I would be remiss to not mention Nicholas's kids. These miniature humans steal the show every time, and with each new one I get to know I fall in love all over again. Shay and Jack, who has a compulsion to hide food in his pockets, are the two featured in this book, and they provide lots of laughs, poignant moments and heartstring tugs. We also get appearances by characters from the previous books, and there's a little something going on with seven-year-old Stella and riverboat captain, Sawyer, that's pure cuteness overload.

If you’ve never read a Nicholas book, you really need to, now. Even if you don’t like books with kids (yes, I know you’re out there), I dare you to read Nice and Easy and not fall for every single character. Do you like a book that makes you laugh? Delight in amazing chemistry between a hero and heroine? Love a book that takes you through the full array of emotions and leaves you with a smile and a happy sigh? Then you’ll definitely want to meet the Boys of the Big Easy and you’ll adore Caleb and Lexi's story.

➳Single parents who support each other, but the attraction is way too strong, Caleb and Lexi are the ideal couples to be read about in this sweet, and dominant romance novel...

➳Reading this novel's synopsis is what truly drew me in. There is no denying that my weak spot for single parents is one , especially for single dads is high on the ranks. And when I was contacted about this beauty I could not pass along the chance of one) reading a new author, and two) getting on the scoop that is Caleb. I do not regret it one hundred percent, because the sweetness and possessive alpha that comes from Caleb is one of the many things that will make you fall in love with his story. And then we have Lexi... A single mother of a two year old boy that will make you feel proud of her hard work that she has done given her circumstances.

➳The way this novel is written as a third perspective is the one thing that has brought a downside to the story since I am not the biggest fan of third povs. I have read many novels in third pov's and have enjoyed them. My two favorite books so far of 2019 are BOTH in the third perspective. But this one in particular, there was a lot of internal thoughts that got mixed with many other characters. A lot of internal thoughts that got me confused, but I was still able to understand. Either way, there is still no denying that I did enjoy this novel.

➳Starting off as companions and friends whom would help each other, Caleb and Lexi learn that their physical attraction is one that cannot be denied any longer. Especially when they start living with each other. Caleb is older than Lexi, and he believes that is a factor that should push him away from her. But in her eyes, his experience in life is what makes him a stunner to her. A complete rugged firefighter who commands orders, who protects the people he cares and loves, the person who Lexi can count on and know that he will always be there for her. One drunken night with Lexi however, leads them both to the reality that their attraction and that connection they both have is one not dying anytime soon.
"Her bright smile and stories about the kids and, yeah the bubblegum smell, took away any smoke and ash and blood from his night at work. He hadn't realized until that moment just how much he loved going home to her. She made things brighter and happier..."

➳Overall, this is yet another novel that this year has me excited for another new author to keep writing more. Already I see that there is a fourth book coming sometime this year as well, and my hands are itching for Jackson's story. Thank you to the wonderful ladies at SBPR for sending me a copy of this beauty.

She fell in love and dragged him kicking and screaming along the way. At it's most tempting Nice and Easy is a showstopper. Nicholas brings her classic wit, sizzling sex appeal and abundance of heart to a romance that is hard to resist. Caleb and Lexi are learning about life, love and family in often times hard, many times heartbreaking, yet always heartwarming ways. Add in a precocious four year old and mischievous two year old and you get a lovable glimpse into the heart of what family is.

Erin Nicholas books are why pizza delivery, sick days, Amazon Prime/Google Shopping Express, and "talk to the hand" can be your best friends.

Make sure you have all of those on speed dial before you pull Nice and Easy up on the e-reader because you're going to want to make full use of them so you can enjoy every delicious page of book three in Ms Nicholas's Boys of the Big Easy series, following single parents in New Orleans who happen to find love. (In fact, it is likely that you might want to make enough time for a full series re-read because Nice and Easy is THAT. GOOD.)

Caleb Moreau is my new favorite Erin Nicholas hero. And granted, they're all pretty much my favorites, but MAN. WOooooo. Caleb is a giving, take-charge kind of guy. He was tossed into single fatherhood when his sister and her husband are killed in an accident and he's suddenly the responsible adult for his niece Shay. A year or so in, he meets Lexi Scott, a young single mom, and the two of them find that shared childcare and the like helps simplify both their lives. So Lexi's little guy Jack and Caleb's niece Shay both benefit from Lexi's and Caleb's loving attention when the other is working or studying or whatever, and Lexi and Caleb can go about their jobs knowing that their kids are well cared for all the time.

Lexi and Caleb are great caregivers and friends, and their partnership works. It's nice AND it's easy. Except that well, maybe there might be this fierce attraction between them. And maybe Lexi might want Caleb to not just be nice... And sometimes life can be hard, whether or not we expect it or are looking for it.

Erin Nicholas does a beautiful job with Lexi and Caleb, and their story is a pleasure to read. These are characters who own grown-up underpants and know how to wear them. They navigate the sometimes tricky, sometimes embarrassing, sometimes exhausting times we adults, we parents face, not always perfectly, but with some grace and resilience, and with the love and support of some great friends and family around them.

Lexi and Caleb's transition from friends/roommates to lovers is both sweet and unbelievably hot. They demonstrate that speaking up and speaking out are fundamental to a great relationship and incredible sex. Trust and vulnerability go hand in hand with desire and passion. And whether you're into restraints, role-playing, or some good old-fashioned romance, Ms Nicholas has got you covered. Nice and Easy will warm you up in all the good ways.

The best stories make you want to become a part of that universe. This is especially true of the Boys of the Big Easy series. The characters are funny, sexy, vulnerable, smart, loving... They can also be sad, scared, uncertain, foolish, and all too human. Those you love can make you unbelievably happy. And sometimes they can make you want to strangle them. Erin Nicholas has created characters with all these foibles and nuances. I would love them to be real. If they were, I'd move to New Orleans in a heartbeat ;)

In the meantime, I'm just going to clear the decks for a re-read...

Oh boy! This was an amazing story. It was fun, sweet, and most likely the sexiest and kinkiest story Erin Nicholas has written and I loved every minute of it! I don't know what else to say that won't spoil the story. Caleb was sexy but had a major hero complex that almost got him into trouble. Lexi was a surprise. I absolutely loved her character. She was strong and so sweet and she was good at making Caleb hot. She totally owned her sexual desires. The sexual chemistry between these two were combustible. I was fanning myself while reading their sexy scenes and probably blushing too. And the kids. Absolutely adorable. They made the story extra fun, especially Stella from the first book, even though she doesn't make a true appearance in the story. And what's up with these boys who own the swamp boat tours from Autre, Sawyer and Josh. I'm hoping they get a story eventually too. Ah this series is an absolute must read. I'm so enjoying my time in New Orleans with the Boys of the Big Easy.

This newest installment of the Boys of the Big Easy series does not disappoint! This was an amazing story. It was fun, sweet with some unexpected kink and I loved every minute of it.

Erin Nicholas has done a beautiful job with Lexi and Caleb, and their story is a pleasure to read. Their transition from friends/roommates to lovers is both sweet and unbelievably hot, and I loved them as a couple.

I really enjoyed this latest offering in the Boys of the Big Easy series and it definitely is as terrific as the previous books in the series. I cannot wait for the next book in this wonderful series.

Va-va-va-voom! Caleb and Lexi's story is so sexy! I love that they kept trying to hide their attraction to one another but everyone saw it...except them of course! When a drunken night leads to loose lips, those feelings come to the surface. I loved seeing all the other guys from the Big Easy make multiple appearances and even some hints of what's to come on the Bayou!

Erin Nicholas always knocks it out of the park for me and this is no exception!

Note to self: Two single parents... Most likely to involve lots of parenting.

Also, I read Chapter 1 and disliked that the hero had f*ck buddies while lusting for the heroine all this time. He only realizes that he has to claim her when he sees her with some other guys. Typical as*hole!

This friends to lovers, single parents romance was really something special. Caleb and Lexie are simply wonderful characters. Lovable, relatable and realistic, they could easily be a friend of yours, a family member, an acquaintance or even yourself. They are complex and their simmering attraction sizzles. I admired and sympathized with these characters. They had the strength, intelligence and maturity to not only survive what twists life threw at them but to thrive. The entertaining story is engaging and moves at a good pace. It is a charming blend of humor, steam and intense emotions. A excellent read that I thought was delightful. This is my freely posted, frank review.

Ok, so where has this series and this author been all my life?! 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 by Erin Nicholas is book three in her 𝐵𝑜𝑦𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝑖𝑔 𝐸𝑎𝑠𝑦 series, and it’s my first ever read by this author! It can be read as a standalone, but you get to meet some amazing secondary characters which will prompt you to want to start from the very beginning. I know the minute I finished Caleb and Lexi’s happily ever after, I grabbed the first two books in the series which is 𝐆𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 (Gabe and Addison) and 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐭 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲 (Logan and Dana). And I can't even tell you how excited I am to get my hands on James and Harper’s story! I just LOVE discovering new series AND new authors!

But back to Caleb and Lexi’s story…I adored these two! The tension that built with every turn of the page was incredibly intoxicating and once those walls were down…it was on! I’m getting butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it. There was a bit of a learning curve when Caleb discovers Lexi’s wants, needs, and fantasies. She wants more than romance, and Caleb wants to give her everything! This charming and steamy love story had heat, humor, and heart...the perfect recipe for an unputdownable happily ever after! I can't wait to discover more of Erin’s work!

Hot and Steamy in the Big Easy
Warning! This book may leave you needing some quality time with a cold shower...or alternative means of cooling off . This entry in Erin Nicholas' Boys of the Big Easy series is the steamiest one yet...it ventures outside my comfort zone, but was lots of fun to read, none the less. As with all the books in the Boys of the Big Easy series, Nice and Easy is set in New Orleans, and features single parents. Caleb, a (very hot) firefighter, suddenly became a father when his sister and her husband suddenly died in a car accident, and he went from Uncle to guardian of his beloved niece, Shay. Lexi, a 21-year-old single mom has just finished her nursing school program, and over the last year or so, Lexi and Caleb have been co-parenting their kids, each covering the other during their crazy 12 and 24 hours shifts. But they have not spent much actual time together--when one of them is with the kids, the other is at work, or home asleep...or vice versa. But Lexi's living situation has suddenly changed, and when Caleb discovers she's moved from her mother's house into an apartment above a bar without telling him, he steps in to be her hero...because he's discovered he likes to be her hero and solve her problems. And he likes knowing she has a crush on him but doesn't want to take advantage. And Lexi? Well she's tired of feeling like a burden or Caleb's little sister and she really wants both situations to change. And boy, do they!!! Each of the Boys of the Big Easy books features some kids--these books are about single parents, after all. While I was initially worried about this going into the first book, Nicholas has completely sucked me in...her kids are pretty realistic (and a little weird, like most kids, honestly) without being TOO cutesy or obnoxious, and I find myself falling in love with each of them. The kids in this book are no exception, and I liked seeing how Caleb and Lexi each responded very differently to various kid-related challenges. The best part of Erin Nicholas' books is not the sex (although that is WONDERFUL, I promise) or even the love story (even though that's why we buy them)--it is the way the love story and the sex are interwoven into this real-life world of people and kids and their friends and challenges. These feel like people you would know. People you'd hang out with. Ok, probably prettier than the people you'd hang out with, but they seem relatable. They make mistakes and they say stupid things sometimes, and they screw up and they are good parents most days, and just doing the best they can, like most people. Nicholas makes you care about her characters...not just to watch them fall in love, although that is AWESOME and lovely, but to watch them relate to each other in tough situations and fix their mistakes. And oh, yeah, find that beautiful happy ending. With the hot sexy times thrown in the mix! So maybe not COMPLETELY relatable (haha) but a very fun read, and definitely one that will be added to my favorites shelf...Erin Nicholas is an "auto-buy" for me, and she does not disappoint with this latest entry! Nice and Easy is a really good read, and I highly recommend it!

After reading the synopsis and judging the book by it's cover, I had very high expectations. Happily they were met!

This sexy, immensely funny, emotional and endearing, tale is so hot that it needs a Firefighter to put it out!

I don't often find Firefighters especially sexy, but Caleb (I love that name) is definitely an exception. He and Lexi are both single parents that move in with each other as friends that can help each other out. This of course leads to more. Oh so much more. If it were possible, then it would have steamed up my kindle.
Emotional ,moving and laugh out loud funny. Erin Nicholas's sexy story offered and delivered it all and then some!

This is the third book Erin's Boys Of The Big Easy series. I felt it read well as a standalone but also wish that I had read the previous two books. (and Novellas.) I want to spend some quality time with all of Erin's Boys of The Big Easy! (All now added to my TBR)

Thank you to Erin Nicholas  and Social Butterfly PR, for gifting me a review copy of Nice and Easy. The gifting of this book did not influence this review.

I love this series. The Boys of the Big Easy is a series about faith, hope, love, commitment, second chances, friendship, loyalty and so much more. The story lines and characters are down-to-earth, realistic and heartwarming. This book is no different. Nice and Easy might be my favorite, so far. It is so sweet and it's pretty realistic. It is by far the most decadent of the stories, if you catch my meaning.

Caleb is a lieutenant with the Fire Department and a single dad, sort-of. His sister and brother-in-law died in a car accident, leaving their 18 month old daughter, Shay, in his custody. He did his best but, when everything got to be too much, he found a single parents group filled with people that quickly became his second family. With all the stress and chaos in his life, he finds comfort in controlling things. He needs to provide, care and protect others, especially Shay, Lexie and little Jack, to feel he's doing the right thing. To prove he's not a failure.

Lexie's a beautiful person, inside and out. She sweet, generous and kind to everyone. When her son's father decided he couldn't be burdened with her or their child, she found herself alone as a single mom with a newborn at 18. She joined the group a month after Caleb, the sexy, single, firefighter.

After meeting, the two quickly realized the value in having someone to share the responsibilities with. They agreed that Lexi would watch the kids while he works, and he would watch them while she works and goes to school. They shared the child care, chores, cooking and shopping duties. This system worked well for over two years. However, Lexie has secretly, or maybe not so secretly, harbored a crush on Caleb for the entire time. Caleb has also tried to keep his feelings and desires for her to himself, believing that it was wrong because of the age difference. When Lexie finds herself needing a new place to live, Caleb convinces her to move in with Shay and him. Living in the same house has brought their feelings bubbling to the surface and now they have to learn to navigate a new set of rules.

I just love this story, this series, and I can't wait to read the next book, Getting Off Easy! Well done to the author.

Another winner from Erin Nicholas. Smoking hot firefighter + Sexy Nurse = 1 Steamy read!
I loved how Caleb had to switch gears from being Lexi's protector to seeing her as his equal.
Lexi is a great example of someone who had a baby young but applied herself to grow and mature into a wonderful parent.
Caleb struggles with the weight of being the guardian to his orphaned niece. Going from bachelor to Daddy after a horrible accident fills him with doubts on whether he is "doing it right" -which for a strong willed hero-complex guy is a tough pill to swallow.
Watching the two of them find their balance , both with the kids and with their relationship was a fun ride.

Wow! Nobody blends heat and heart like Nicholas! This book took my breath away in more way than one. When you contrast the caring of a woman who is a mother and a nurse with the need to give up control in the bedroom, you've got a fantastically interesting character. When you match that woman with a man who isn't sure he can give her what she wants in the bedroom, but who loves her enough to try...you have a winner of a relationship. Nicholas tossed in two adorable kids, mixed it all up and came up with another fantastic book!

There was one big thing that kept bothering me when I read the book and since it happens in chapter one I feel free to mention it ( and there is even a link for it on the Goodreads blurb and that scene is included). We met Caleb's no-strings-attached friend and that added nothing to the story. Did we really need to see her? No. Did she add anything to the story? In a way she did. She made me feel very weird and like Caleb felt nothing for Lexi. The second worst thing is that Caleb doesn't even call her to end things properly. The worst thing is this quote (I have removed some things, but the meaning is the same)

"And now, standing between Ana and Lexi, he was struck by just how perfectly he had his life set up.

On one side, Lexi took care of things at home.

On the other side was his social life. That was simple and straightforward as well. He could spend a hot, fun, no-strings-attached hour here and there with Ana and not worry about her not giving him a BJ because she was pissed that he didn’t get the dishwasher fixed."

It was like a movie or series where the man is having a woman and his kids at home and is screwing his secretary on the side, I got that feeling and the sad thing is that that's how I was interpreting his feelings for Lexi for the whole book. Lexi was so hung up on him and he was influencing her in so many ways and he thought of her like the help he was attracted to. So not my thing.

So why I am giving it 3 stars? For the kids, Lexi (even though she needed a backbone) and the secondary characters. James and Harper's story drew my interest and I am definitely going to read that book. These two made me laugh a lot and honestly they had better chemistry in a couple of pages than Lexi and Caleb had in the entire book.

I love everything Erin Nicholas writes. Her writing style makes you feel like you're right there. I've been waiting for this installment of the Boys of the Big Easy and this story did not disappoint.

Caleb is raising his 4 year old niece after his sister and he husband were killed in a car crash. He's a lieutenant with the fire department and the fires he helps fight aren't the only thing that's hot.

Lexi is a young, single mom to her 2 year old son, Jack. She recently graduated from nursing school and is working at finally being an adult.

Lexi and Caleb met at a single parents support group. The attraction between them was obvious to everyone. But Caleb feels he's too old for Lexi. Regardless, the two of them become friends and each other's support. They take care of each other's children while the other is working. Caleb helps Lexi with her car, Lexi cooks for Caleb. They're like one big, happy family, except they're not. When Caleb learns about a secret Lexi has been keeping, their relationship takes a big step in a new direction. But when the problems and desires of real life happen, can they put aside their own feelings and be what each other needs?

This story touched me deeply. My emotions really ran the gamut reading this book. You definitely don't want to miss this story.

Sweet, tumultuous and a little kink

This is the story I've been waiting for! Somehow we also got blessed with the series' hottest covermodel so far, so I'm thinking it's a win.

We've met brooding firefighter Caleb, single dad to his niece Shay, and Lexi, single mom to Jack and a few years younger, in the other books in the series. I love how their story let's them evolve and figure out their relationship, how they feel and how everything fits together. Or if they fit at all in the real world. Caleb and Lexi grow throughout the story and get to know both themselves and each other. As usual with an Erin Nicholas book, you really feel like you are there with them. The characters feel real and well developed, just as the story. I felt like it may have been a bit short, in that I felt an episode early in the book went by too easily. I would have liked Caleb to have more of an epiphany about that, because it clearly hurt Lexi's feelings and I felt he should have acknowledged it more.

All in all I loved it, just wanted a bit more of the story, but what is there is really good and I like that they have a complexity to their relationship and their merging family that is not often portrayed or not portrayed that way. Clear recommendation from me.

Caleb & Lexi are single parents, Caleb to his 4 yr old niece, Lexi to her 2 yr old son. They met in group and together work together parenting...as friends. Though Lexi does have feelings for him. Caleb does too but hides them due to her younger age. When he finds out her mom moved away and she is living over Logan and Gabe's bar, he pushes her to move in with him.

With living together he realizes she is more amazing that he ever knew. As a friend, a mom, a woman. Both have their own styles with the kids but it works for them. Caleb a Lieutenant firefighter and Lexi a nurse both working around weird hours. Slowly the lines blur for him and he realizes she may be what he is looking for, something he didnt even know. When issues arise with his niece, injured in the accident that claimed her parents lives, his need to be perfect as her 'dad' may risk everything.

I really liked this one. A slow build. Great kid characters. A run of the "feels". I am loving this series by Erin Nicholas. It is a must read series for romance lovers.

This is such an easy, friends to lovers, single parents story, that of course have some steamy hot scenes in it.

What do you get when you pair a bossy, dominant and maybe a little arrogant man with a sweet, submissive, and sometimes badass woman? Well if you want to find out just read this story and find out, you will not regret it.

I loved Lexi from the beginning. She is a sweetheart who knows who she is and what she wants but at the same time isn't that take charge ballbusting woman. But it took me a minute before a feel in love with Caleb because in the beginning, he gave of this arrogant I know better vibe and I almost looked like he used Lexi. But when i got to know him he started winning my heart.

Even though this is truly a sweet love story between two struggling single parents, it really had some steamy hot and kinky scenes in it. I mean sheesh sometimes I feel like I was burning up from just reading it!

At not quite a quarter, I'm giving up. Caleb and Lexi are already in love and they're already co-parenting. Their kids are friends, their friend group is intermixed, and they are just about to share living space. The only reason they've been holding off is because Caleb has a giant free-floating negative motivation* for reasons that he changes (in his own head) all the time; probably because none of them make sense and you wouldn't want to pin him down mentally because then he'd have to give it up for the lost-cause it is. It's like he's walking around with a giant net wondering why he can't carry water around. And each time he thinks about it, he makes a different excuse. "There's too much air" or "It's too warm for water to accumulate" or "kids sure make holding water hard" and the whole time he's completely ignoring that he's holding a net.

The problem with going forward is that Caleb's nonsensical objections to starting things up with Lexi are messing with her head and making her feel bad. It's like the author can only see how little sense he makes when she's writing Lexi's parts and then forgets all of that when we're back in his head again. And I like her. So I just don't want to go through a whole novel with his idiocy being the only thing keeping them from being together when all he really has to do is open his eyes and stop dorking around about it.

* Negative Motivations: I kind of hate that the term "negative motivation" isn't widespread, yet. Since it isn't, I'm going to save off this little jag to append to my reviews that feature the term. Jennifer Crusie blogged about it a bit back (or, if that link doesn't work, here's a cache of the original) and it changed how I understand story. The problem with the term is that if you've never heard it before, you'd assume it meant motivations that are harmful or immoral. Not so. What it refers to is motivations not to do something. The thing is that many of us are motivated to not do things for a lot of different, perfectly valid and reasonable, reasons. The problem is that in a story motivations to not do things are a huge drag on the plot—particularly considering the fact that most negative motivations are overcome by the character simply deciding they don't care any more (or, rather, that they do care and are now motivated to do the thing). So not only do you have a counter to action but you also have a situation where to overcome it, all a character has to do is change their mind. Which means eventually, the reader is rooting for the character to get over him/herself already and do the thing we want them to do. Conflict drives story. Conflict between a reader and a main character drives readers away from story.

OH BOY!!! More HOT and Sexy Boys of the Big Easy!

NICE AND EASY (Boys of the Big Easy #3) by Erin Nicholas is another smokin’ hot contemporary romance which makes you want to travel down south and try to grab one of these boys for yourself. This series is based around a single parent group in NOLA and each book focuses on one of the parents becoming a HEA couple. The books can be read as standalones per couple, but the characters do help each other out and build on their relationships throughout each book as in real life.

Lexi Scott is one of the younger members of the single parent group. She has been living with her mom while attending nursing school and raising her baby son, Jack.

Lieutenant Caleb Moreau is used to being in complete control and in charge. He and his men save people from burning buildings. When his sister and brother-in-law are killed in a car accident, Caleb is suddenly the guardian of his little niece, Shay and joins the single parent group for support.

For two years Lexi and Caleb have found that their hectic schedules work for sharing the raising of their kids, but Lexi has always wanted more. Caleb knows Lexi wants him, but he is afraid that she wants him out of gratitude for all he does. When circumstances have Lexi and Jack moving in with Caleb and Shay, these two are going to find out that they do not know each other as well as they thought.

There is so much happening in this story. As in all of the other Boys of the Big Easy books, Lexi and Caleb have their chance at romance, but there is a little more going between with this couple. Lexi wants to be dominated in the bedroom. Role playing, spanking and submission are included in this romance. There are several serious scenes with Caleb trying to learn that he cannot always control everything and Shay’s long-term prognosis to deal with. This book is as hot and fun as it is serious and Erin Nichols balances it all to perfection!

This author just keeps giving me more great stories and characters. I am looking forward to many more books in this series.

Caleb & Lexi have had each other’s back for a long time. Caleb is a single, hot firefighter single handedly raising his niece after her parents were killed in an accident. Lexi is a sexy, young single mother raising her son after the father “poofed”. They are members of a single parent group & have worked out an arrangement for watching each other’s kids. Now, they both want the relationship to change & deepen but they each have concerns.

I really enjoy the fact that they don’t seem to realize they already have a solid relationship going. The hold up is acting on their attraction & adding sexy to the mix. It was entertaining seeing Caleb realize some of his conclusions & interpretations of Lexi & her actions were wrong & his attempts at deals big with the new her. Lexi was stronger than I thought she was & able to put it all on the line. I really loved that their concern & love for Shay overpowered any awkwardness. Another great book!

I loved this book and I loved Caleb and Lexi together. They were a perfect couple and family. They both brought to the relationship what the other needed. Yet it took them or more importantly Caleb awhile to realize this. Even though Lexi was several years younger than Caleb she was much more mature than he at first gave her credit for. But I think it was more of him keeping a blind eye to it and wanting to be the one to take care of her.
I will say one thing though about Caleb- he is an excellent dirty talker! Whooeee! And when Lexi told him what she wanted out of the relationship with him he really stepped up and did his homework. And A+++++!
I so enjoyed this book in the Boys of the Big Easy series and it definitely is as fabulous as the others in the series. Can’t wait for James and Harper’s story.

I don’t know why this author has to go and shit on the series by having the hero sleep with another woman while he knows the heroine. He’s perfectly fine with her caring for the kids while he fucks Ana. That’s disgusting. I don’t want a hero that doesn’t even see the heroine in that light and has a friendship or personal relationship with her and yet he’s perfectly content sleeping with someone else.

Why would I think it’s romantic that he has put her in the little sister box until he’s ready not to? Disgusting and so disappointing.

This was the second book I've read in this series. Of course I read them completely out of order but that didn't matter. That only made me want to see how the other characters found their HEA. I found this novel intense and sexy. Caleb, the hero, was a particularly intense character Caleb was dominant in every aspect of his life; always having to be in control. There were a few times throughout the book where I was frustrated with his always having to be in charge. It was a good thing that Lexi loved him so. It also didn't hurt that she was a submissive person and liked being taken care of. Truthfully, if she wasn't so accommodating, I doubt she and Caleb would have made it. Don't misunderstand me because Lexi was in no way a week character. I respected her and the author did a great job with helping me understand her.

Caleb has been raising his four year old niece for the past couple of years after his sister and her husband died in a car accident. Lexi is also a single parent. Both Caleb and Lexi have been helping each other out with taking care of the children while the other one is working. They have been doing this for a while now and it worked well. Until it didn't. I won't give anything away however I can tell you I loved watching their platonic relationship develop into something intense and magical. The author also does a wonderful job with taking Caleb and Lexi and letting us be able to watch then grow as a couple. I absolutely loved the slow burn, tension and intense chemistry between.

From start to finish I was rooting for Caleb and Lexi to find their happily ever after. The only complaint I had with this novel is that is was very heavy on monologue. Several times I had to reread because there was so much monologue between the dialogue and I couldn't remember what the characters were talking about. I don't mind a book with a lot of descriptive text, but I do need a balance between monologue and dialogue. Of course that is my preference and some of you may not mind it. Regardless, I enjoyed this book. I have always enjoyed this author and will continue to read her books.

This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time ti read it. :)

I have been eagerly waiting for Caleb and Lexi’s story and I was not disappointed at all. Caleb and Lexi have been dancing around each other and their feelings for 2 years (and in 2 previous books in this series). Caleb felt he was too old to act on his feelings for Lexi even though his friends all told him otherwise. He likes how their relationship flows, he watches her son while she works and she watches his niece while he works. They talk in passing about their days and co-parent well for the most part. One day though, Caleb realizes he wants to know more about Lexi’s life, her daily highs and lows, her deepest desires. But he has to know she wants him for him and not just because he influenced her to. Caleb knows Lexi has feelings for him and he doesn’t want to lose that friendship by wanting more.

Lexi has grown to love Caleb over the past 2 years. They co-parent more or less their children but lately it has shifted into more. One night after celebrating her job well done with her coworkers, Caleb makes his feelings toward Lexi known and she is promptly thrown for a loop. Can she realistically have a relationship with the best man she’s ever known? Would Caleb be able to play into her desires as a willing partner giving how he loves to protect her?

Lexi and Caleb have a wonderful relationship on paper but can they translate that to real life. Caleb has wanted to be Lexi’s protector, her knight in shining armor and he has been able to be all those things for her. But when push comes to shove, can he have a real, honest to goodness, highs and lows relationship with her and survive. They test the boundaries of their friendship and relationship to give their new found attraction a go.

I am loving this series, each book is sort of tied to the others with repeat characters but each book has its own defined track. I can honesty say some of the path taken by Lexi and Caleb was a surprise to be given just how “pure” they both seemed but that is the earmark of an awesome novel right? A very happy 5 stars from this reader for Caleb, Lexi, Shay and Jack, score another for NOLA. I received an advance copy without expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.

I am loving this series, and it just gets hotter and hotter. After each one, I think, "That's the sexiest thing I ever read." This one about melted my tablet! But sex scenes don't do anything for me if the couple doesn't have a solid relationship.
The book is really about how Lexi and Caleb negotiate the changes in their lives and relationship to each other. Lexi has depended on Caleb for a lot of help, and Caleb absolutely loves being her hero. But Lexi is beginning to see that she has much more to offer than she thought, and Caleb is getting hints that he is not able to solve every problem. They have to find a middle ground that works for them. They have several good conversations about how to do this in different areas, including sex. I would like to point out that they discuss how consent works between them, and it is handled very well. There appears to be an imbalance of power in Caleb's favor, but Lexi clears that up really quickly!
I liked how the emotional challenges were handled. When you are parenting, you never know what obstacle will pop up next. The struggles were realistic and sweet. Also, couples change over time. The negotiations were honest and realistic. They are creating a solid foundation for a long-term relationship. That is very romantic.
I also adored the secondary characters that popped in. James and Harper are going to be amazing! And Sawyer tugged at my heart in his scenes. I can't wait for more books in this series. Do they make fireproof tablets? Gotta get prepared...

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am so in love with Caleb. And Lexi of course. The two of them have been co-parenting for a while now. They met in a single parents group and found their busy work schedules were opposite so that they could watch each others kids. Perfect, right? It doesn't hurt Caleb that Lexi has a little crush on Caleb. And Lexi gets taken care of by Caleb. He does little things for her like fixing her car. When her mother moves away and Lexi needs a safe place to live, Caleb swoops in again to save Lexi. Living together makes the co-parenting easier but makes their personal relationship so much harder.
Caleb became his nieces guardian when his sister and brother in law were killed in a car accident. He is trying to do everything right for her but finds out he can't. Somethings are just out of his control and he can't stand that. He has some revelations that as a parent of a child with needs gutted me. Lexi can be his rock if he trusts her enough to do so.
Lexi needs Caleb. He's the only one she trusts with her deepest desires. She cant imagine trusting anyone as much. She just dosent know if Caleb can put himself there. But she knows trust is a two way street. She's the smart one in this book. Just saying.
This couple is so hot it's a good thing Caleb is a firefighter. But they are a real couple. Nothing is nice and easy. Problems arise and they dont always deal with things the right way. But they learn from it all.
