Wow, OK. For a long series, this was the 22nd book if I’m not mistaken, Ms. Mayer still able to deliver great books now and then. This doesn’t mean her other books were not good, they are. However, long series tend to repeat themselves, more or less the ‘same’. So, it was great to see something quite different than usual, a refreshing breath.

The mystery was great, not really obvious on whodunnit at the beginning. The suspense was catered to my taste. The romance was believable, not really the insta-love kind of thing. All in all, one of my favourite in the series.

I was provided a complimentary copy by the author / publisher through Booksprout, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

The story began when Taylor goes to close his neighbor Midge’s door and finds a dead man in her bed. With this start, it seemed like I had read the book before, but it didn’t take long to know that this story was different from anything that I read before. As Taylor and Midge try to solve the mystery of the dead man, more bodies are found. I had no idea how the murders were related until Midge’s dream and the plot was revealed. I enjoyed reading this book and I think you will too.

When Taylor finds a dead man in his neighbour’s bedroom, he and Midge are thrust into a race against time to find the killer or killers before they come after her. Lots of action, danger, secrets, mystery and a slow building romance make this a book not to be missed.

Dale Mayer created a novel with a unique plot that hooked me immediately. She also created an unusual solution that, to my pleasure, completely surprised me.

The main characters, Midge and Taylor, live across the hall from each other. When Taylor discovers a dead body in Midge’s apartment, Midge becomes a suspect. Since her apartment is a crime scene, Midge ends up staying in Taylor’s apartment.

Meanwhile, Taylor works with the detectives to help solve this crime. He also becomes Midge’s bodyguard and helps her cope with the psychological aftermath of being part of a murder.

The readers learn that Taylor and Midge have noticed each other before. Unfortunately, since Taylor is away a lot, he has not had a chance to ask Midge out for a date. Therefore, their attraction blossoms while they are working together and living together. However, they are unable to act upon their feelings for awhile since Midge is not yet emotionally recovered after finding someone dead in her bed.

This is a fantastic romantic suspense that includes a lot of action and intrigue. Dale Mayer keeps us in suspense throughout the book by giving false clues and leading us down circular pathway. And then, she concludes the book with some intriguing surprises!

Another fabulous book in the "Seals of Honour" series. Dale Mayer has created such lovely characters in this series, each different and each with their own story.
Taylor Robinson returns home after a mission hoping for a well earned rest, Midge, his pretty red headed neighbour checked that he was home because his door was open, she had been on her way to her own apartment when she had a call to go back to work. Taylor noticed that her door was also open and on investigating they found one of Midge's work colleagues naked on her bed with a bullet hole through his forehead.
From here the murders mount up and Midge is top of the police list as the perpetrator. Taylor knows that Midge's life is in danger and he needs to find a common denominator between all the murder victims and Midge, and he vows, with the help of his team, to protect her.
The story unfolds in a surprising way, it contains drama, suspense , murder, kidnapping and of course romance.
It is lovely visiting old friends from previous books and also the lead into the next one. Although this book is in a series it can easily be read as a standalone and I can highly recommend it.

Fantastic!

An interesting plot with a different twist! This story ignites right at the very beginning with Taylor finding a dead body in his cute neighbor’s bed!

Taylor needs to find out fast whether Midge is a killer or not, and it just keeps betting more interesting by the minute. This exciting story is jam packed full of mysterious twists, turns, and murders that keep you totally guessing who the culprit is and what it is they are after, or should it be, who they are after?

Taylor does a great job keeping Midge close and protecting her should she be the next intended victim. He has some great technical help from Mason and extra manpower with Colt nearby, but the murders keep stacking up with no apparent rhyme or reason. I love how midge is not a shrinking violet when it comes to her interactions with the detective and his suspicions about her despite no evidence, it just looks bad with too many coincidences. I like this kind of character that although she is a victim of sorts, she doesn’t behave like a victim and stands up for herself.

A very intricate story, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat while it also heats up between Taylor and Midge. They are a fantastic combination and fit very well together. I thoroughly enjoyed their story!

Taylor has just gotten home from his latest mission when he collapses on his couch to relax. His neighbor, Midge, pops her head in because he left his door open a crack. She asks if she should close it and small talk ensues. When she disappears downstairs to go back to work he spots her door ajar. He goes to close it and smells a smell he is all too familiar with. Thus begins a tale of cheating, greed, and murder.

Midge gets caught in the middle of it all and she is flummoxed as it appears that she has been set up. Taylor comes to her rescue along with Colton and Troy and of course some help from Mason, their leader.

When the whole story comes out Midge realizes just how little she knows about her coworkers and how crazy they can be. The villain in this story is crazy to the core. She embraces her evilness and she has an accomplice. It's a race against time to find the truth and save Midge.

I liked Midge from the beginning. She is strong, fiery, determined, independent and well vulnerable underneath it all. Taylor is protective, gentle, strong, caring and the two of them have chemistry. This was a fast paced story fill with action and some twists and turns. It also sets up for Colton's story.

SEALs of Honor

This is another great addition to this series with Taylor , one of Mason's men find the love of his life with a neighbor,Midge who needed his help and it turns into love. She is coming home from work but stops to tell him his door is open. He noticed that her door was open as well but she did not even stop at her apartment because she was called back to work at the records department on the base. They go inside to discover a man shot dead in her bed. Turns out she did not even know him but someone was trying to set her up with his murder. This was just the beginning of the body count which is being done to try and set Midge up for the murders. He stays with her and comforts her while trying to solve this mystery with Mason and his unit along with the police who just want to blame her. It was interesting how everything unfolded as they solve the mystery of all the murders of the people from her office and discover the reason it is all being done which points back to jealousy and greed. Taylor and Midge actually fall in love while he is protecting her and clearing her name. It was a fantastic story and I am looking forward to the next release in this series.

WOW! Another great book in this long running series. I can't believe Dale Mayer is able to keep this series going and still write books that grab and hold your attention. The book was well written and the characters easy to like and follow which is the usual Dale Mayer style.

This book is murder after murder with no suspects in site until close to the end. But it definitely kept my attention from the beginning to the end.
I never knew a clerical job could be so dangerous but this book brought back memories of the office pool where I worked before my retirement.

As the plot moves on you begin to wonder how many lives will be taken before this mystery is solved and why are the police seeming to drag their feet? The Seals seem to be making more headway than the police, in fact they seem to be doing all the work.

I like the relationship that slowly developed between Taylor and Midge, they seem to be perfect for each other but I wish the book had contained a little bit more of them and their relationship. Hopefully the next book, Colton, will give us more insight into their relationship.

Taylor has just returned to his apartment from an assignment and is looking forward to some peace, quiet and sleep. Midge a neighbor has called out to him as she is turning to return to work after an emergency call to return to the office. She hadn't even reached her door as yet. Taylor realized her door was open and called to her as he walked to close it for her. However, the odor coming from the apartment was something that set him on edge. So it begins.
Midge is a small, feisty, redhead who is friendly and outgoing and has no idea how this body has gotten into her bed. Her boss who has called her back is now dealing with a breach in security, missing employees and multiple deaths that may or may not be connected. Midge is happy to go back to help till further events make that impossible.
All the while Taylor has agreed to watch over her and keep her safe. It's quite an adventure and a fast, fun read. The epilogue hints the next story about Colton will be just as exciting. I can't wait!

Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire! Taylor has just returned from a mission, tired he neglects to close his door and crashes on his couch. Only to be roused by his neighbor who notices the open door.

Midge hasn't even made it to her own apartment when she gets called back into work. She notices Taylor's open door and calls out to him before continuing on her way. But Taylor's door isn't the only one not closed and what Taylor finds inside has him stopping her from leaving the complex.

With a dead body in his neighbor's apartment things heat up quickly. Police, Mason, and couple of friends start investigating. Midge works in records and someone has hacked into that system. A very suspicious occurrence on top of a murder.

There are many twists in this book as the investigation into both crimes proceeds with Midge and Taylor right smack dab in the middle of it all.

They also start exploring why they've never dated which in itself is a fun conversation.

As with every book I've read in this series to date, I couldn't put this book down!

Taylor is a by-the-book action story: not one page goes by without a twist, a new clue, or a piece of displacing evidence. As a result, the reader cannot avoid getting caught up in the story, unable to put it down. Throughout the narration, an intriguing cast of characters with their lively dialogue make the narrative pleasant, engaging, and very entertaining. The plot carefully avoids dark tones, making the storyline very pleasant to read. A few cameo appearances of Mason, together with some of the characters of the previous books in the series, are pleasant interludes for Ms Mayer's faithful readers. Both Taylor and Midge, the protagonists, have intriguing personalities. Their dialogues and lines of thoughts are often unexpected, a fascinating and entertaining trait.
Overall, Taylor is a gripping, engaging tale that amuses and entertains the reader, another great episode in one of my favourite Dale Mayer's sagas.

Taylor finally gets home to Coronado when he notices his neighbour's door is open - however, he then notices a smell he recognises and he becomes plunged into multiple homicides with no meaning. Midge doesn't understand what is happening in her life. All of a sudden he home, workplace and neighbours are all in danger and yet at the same time everyone seems t be a suspect too. Taylor is the only normalcy in her life, yet he can't keep an eye on her safety all of the time.

As always with this series of books, it was suitably dramatic as another one of the honourable members of the team of SEALs had to do what they do best in order to keep someone safe. In the process it became apparent that they were both interested in each other - they just never had the right circumstances in their own lives to make the connection. Strangely it seems there is no better time than now. A well-told and very enjoyable light read.

Another great read by this author and going back to the Seal’s of Honor series and this time it’s Taylor, who is finally home and gets pulled into a murder investigation when a dead body appears in his neighbour’s bed. Midge has noticed the SEAL and has said her hellos to him and now that she’s involved in something she doesn’t know what it’s about, with bodies piling up and all connected to her...she’s going to need Taylor and his SEAL friends to protect her and find the murderer before it’s too late. A great read with steam, suspense and bodies piling up, trying to solve the why and who, which made it hard to put down. What I love about these reads is the insta attraction and little to no drama between the couples, it’s all focused on solving the mystery and protecting. Taylor was a protector, strong and capable and Midge, a kind and compassionate woman who doesn't play games. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

Seal's of Honor: Taylor

WOW! Another great story! Taylor wanted to relax after his last mission but it seems murder is stopping him from relaxing. Especially when he goes to Midge's apartment to close her door but finds a dead body in her apartment. He catches up with her to ask her about leaving her door open. So ensues the hunt for the killer. Meanwhile, more bodies are found. The reason behind all of the murders is shocking but is not - a lottery ticket - which is greed involved. The first person that is thought of is the actual killer. At the end, Midge is kidnapped but Taylor is able to figure out and rescue Midge before she is killed. Once the killer is killed, Midge is able to finally move on with her life and that includes Taylor in her life. I am happy that these two finally got together and will now work on their happily ever. FANTASTIC job Dale! I would recommend this book.

Taylor by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Honor Series
Taylor Robinson just arrived home from a mission and wanted to rest. But, it seemed that wasn't going to be happening. When his cute little neighbor lets him know his door was open...it opened a whole other door. Bodies started dropping all around them and he had to work to find out why before Midge became one of them.

Midge Holloway had noticed her handsome neighbor but she was too busy coming and going...as was he. An open door was finally the chance to meet him. And it ends up it was a good thing, because she sure needed a SEAL on her side.

Another great addition to this series with nonstop action as they try to figure out why people are being murdered and how they are connected. And of course, as a romance is trying to bloom when they aren't finding another dead body.

Taylor's Rollercoaster

Taylor & Midge had been neighbours for awhile but never seemed to see each other enough, other than mainly crossing paths. However just after Taylor gets home Midge pops in and seems to have a problem so Taylor goes to help however as soon as he opens the door and gets the first smell he knows she has a Big problem.

Taylor knows he doesn't know Midge well but from the look on her face he knows she's clueless, so he decides to help her. This is an Amazing book with more twists and turns than a maze, and while working it all out the body count rises.
Susan Stoker has IMHO gone way beyond her usual Amazing style and l thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. I Highly Recommend this Author to Anyone and Everyone who loves Romance, Action and Thrillers and is looking a Fantastic book to read. If l could give this book a higher rating l would have.
Enjoy 👍

This is one of my favorite stories in this series - it is full of suspense and romance.

The suspense starts with the discovery of a man who was murdered and left in Midge's bed. While she knows who he was, they certainly weren't friends and there is no obvious explanation for what he was doing in her apartment. Then as the dead bodies start stacking up, there is a race to discover why the people are being killed and who is behind the murders. But will they be able to find the answers before something happens to Midge?

While this is going on, Midge is staying at Taylor's and spending time with him during the day. He helps her get through the questioning by the police and her boss being a jerk. The more time they spend together, the more attracted they are to each other.

Loved both of these characters and how the story progressed. You will definitely want to read this story.

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 22 in the SEALs Of Honor series. This book revolves around Taylor; and Midge.

This is a very extensive series; with several connected series. I would say it was close to as good/great as the previous books in series. It might help the reader to read the previous books in the series; but, it’s not critical for this book.

Due to weather conditions where I’m at, I’m forced to shorten my review (WiFi keeps shutting down mid-load).

This book reads more of a murder/mystery with a little romance on the side. Of course we get our hunky SEAL fix. Still a very good read; especially during blizzard conditions. Definitely worth the time and money.

Who knew that a job in staff records could be so dangerous? I never get tired of story lines showing how SEALs have so much integrity, honesty, caring, and yes even shyness, under those big, burly, badass bodies. Taylor’s attention to detail, even in the face of having just returned exhausted from his mission with Nelson, saved Midge’s life and reputation. I also enjoyed Midge’s ginger-haired spunk and temper sprinkled with her shock and devastation as events unfolded.

This was indeed a tangled web, and without giving anything away, I can honestly say that I really did not see the ending coming. Excitement right up to the final page.

When you work and live on base with little else going on in your life, who would ever expect you to become a murder suspect? Certainly not Midge, but nothing is normal anymore.

Taylor has just returned from a mission when his pretty red-headed neighbor (Midge) clearly needs help from him and his teammates. As they try to unravel the mystery, they are also protecting Midge, but from whom or what? Is she in danger or is she a suspect in the crimes?

Taylor is another great book in the SEALs of Honor series with plenty of twists, turns, mystery and a heartwarming romance that will keep the pages turning.

A case of two open doors has Taylor finding an unwelcome sight in Midge’s, his neighbor’s, apartment. When he tracks down his neighbor he finds out that she has no idea what transpired in her apartment even if the police believe she is their number one suspect.

All Midge has are questions with no answers. Taylor believes in Midge’s innocence but he also knows that since the murder was committed in her apartment that she is danger. Will they be able to find out who is responsible before Midge becomes the next victim?

Intrigue, drama and twists abound which will leave you enthralled until the last page. Taylor is determined to keep Midge safe while Midge is fiery and feisty which makes them a great match.

This series continues to impress me with the great interaction between characters and the different story-lines. Loved the characters in this book. I also love how characters from other books in the series play a part in the book and how Dale brings them into the story. This book had me from the beginning and kept me engrossed through the entire book. Loved the suspense and mystery and also the romance. The book contains characters that has you rooting for them from the start and keeps you hoping that there will be a happy ending. It makes for an awesome read and will have you wanting more. I look forward to the next book in this series!

Wow. Murder, mystery, suspects and following the clues are the order of the day. We have Midge (love the name) doing her job on a base and updating info so people can go about their lives. Taylor is home after a mission and is reminded his door is open by Midge although it’s not long before he takes her back to her apartment when he finds a dead body in her bed. It’s sets out the mystery of who, what and why dead bodies are piling up and Midge is the chief suspect. What an awesome story. At one point I was pointing my finger at the detective because it all seems off while he was doing his job. Great characters as always and a brilliant story that had me guessing and coming up wrong.

This one started with a dead body and since then the suspense and mystery keeps coming. Many dead bodies, one big mystery, feisty redhead, and of course sexy alpha hero, oh yeah I love this combination, this book keeps me turning page after page, keeps me guessing who's the bad guy, and end up devoured it in one sitting. Kinda miss those camaraderie from the men of honors like those in the previous books though and there's a tiny bit thing that bothering me, but with Taylor and his protectiveness took center stage, and off the roof chemistry between Taylor and Midge, I love this book nonetheless.

If you're looking for easy-to-read suspense romance read, this is for you.

Midge gets a call just as she is getting home. Heck, she didn't even make it to her door. As she is getting in her car, Taylor tells her to get upstairs quick. Not happy she is quick to tell him off when he tells her someone is dead in her bed. Shocked and disbelieving she cannot believe what she sees, and her boss is no help. At least Taylor is calm and knows what to do. How, did it happen, why did it happen? Nothing makes sense to her and she just wants it to all go away and let her get back to normal. Work is chaotic and she's the only one there, or is she?

Midge and Taylor live in the same apartment building. Taylor is just home from a mission when Midge stops to talk to him for a moment. He notices her door is open and when he goes to close it he sees the dead body in her bed. Police think she killed him and Taylor steps in to help her prove her innocence. Then Midge's co-workers begin dying and the police are even more intent on accusing her of multiple murders.

If you are a fan of Dale Mayer's books starring badass military men you will really enjoy this one. Can't wait for the next one. Keep them coming Ms. Mayer!

Taylor comes home from a mission and finds that his cute neighbor's whole world is blowing up. Scandal, murder and mayhem are a plenty in this Seal installment. Midge never backs down even when the danger is high and she is scared and Taylor finds the petite redheaded beauty whose temper he can't help pique irresistible. As the bodies continue to drop it's up to Taylor and his friends to help Midge figure out who is up to everything before she becomes the next victim. I thoroughly enjoyed this book with all the twists and turns and the chemistry between the two leads. Excellent read. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
