Book three of "The Guardians of the Blade" (again, I read the German version) takes us right into the conflict brewing around Daoma and his travelling companions. While crossing a desert, they are attacked by the son of a tribal leader who wants to take over the region by subduing four other regional tribes. The Chinese Emperor is pulling the strings in this local power struggle and we find out more about the history of the region and its tribes, including the story of how Mo came to build a trading post in the desert. While Daoma and his group try to escape, a gigantic sandstorm rises... Again a very dark but also very entertaining and exciting book, I hope books 4 - 6 will be out soon...
