This is a sequel to the first book, Nadya Skylung and The Cloudship Rescue, which we enjoyed immensely and I reviewed leading up to Christmas last year.

When we last left Nadya, she'd lost her leg and her mentor, Mrs. T, to pirates who were kidnapping Skylungs, but it remained a mystery as to why.

Now the Orion cloudship lands in Far Agondy to deliver a baby leviathan to a wealthy client and Nadya finds a strange darkness hanging over the city and the Panpathia, the space between worlds that Skylu

Nadya and her friends must push on after the disastrous encounter with the pirates. Nadya has lost her leg, and it soon appears, she has lost her best friend, too. Little by little, Nadya musters the courage to go back to her old duties and help as much as she can to get their airship and crew back into shape. When they dock to take on supplies and make repairs, danger rears its ugly head again. Not everything is as it seems and Nadya must rely on friends both new and old to keep herself and the ...more

This is a wonderful second book in a series that can easily stand on its own. Nadya Skylung starts this imaginative fantasy dealing with live in a cloud ship without most of one leg (spoiler: it was lost in a battle in the last book). It's hard, but she's not someone ever willing to slow down and brood, and that keeps her spirits up and focused, though it challenges her relationship with Pepper, her best friend. Always fast-paced, this story deals with the problems that two close friends will in ...more

When the cloudship Orion limps into port, things don't get any easier. While a mysterious kidnapper invades Nadya's mind and his minions haunt her movements, she also has to worry about tensions among her friends, and get used to life without her missing leg. It's another hair-raising adventure for Nadya and the crew.

A steampunk fantasy with lots of action adventure overcoming evil, rescuing kidnapped children, and navigating the complicated world of friendship. This sequel can stand on its own.

I enjoyed this 2 book series very much. It's part adventure, part fantasy, and partly a story about loyalty and friendship.

This book was *so* much fun to write. They all are, really, especially in the Nadyaverse. Here Nadya's back for a new adventure in Far Agondy, where she meets Tam's old mentor and adjusts to life as an amputee while uncovering the source of the kidnapping ring she tangled with in Cloudship Rescue, learning more about her mysterious past, and facing off against a dire threat to the whole world.

And on top of that, there's a hand-cranked recumbent bicycle chase scene, sneaky misty cable misadventu
