This is the beautiful third book in the Amish of Pontotoc series.
Sweet Gracie gets her own story as we revisit this series taking place in Pontotoc,Mississippi.
I love this series by Amy Lillard and was so excited to read this book.
Gracie has always yearned for a family of her own. Matthew needs a wife and mamm for his children after his wife's death.
He has memories of her in better times before depression hits her.
I really felt for the baby crying constantly missing her mother.
The book deals

Gracie Glick is everybody's everything. She goes over and above to make everyone happy. She realizes that she wants her own happiness. Her own life. Her own family. However, in her Amish community, there just are not a lot of men available, at least none that could possibly offer what Gracie needs.

Grace does something very impulsive. She proposes to Matthew Byler. He is a recent widower with five young children. Not only can Gracie get the family she's dreamed of, she can have a

A Family for Gracie
Amy Lillard

A Family for Gracie by Amy Lillard is book three in her Amish of Pontotoc series. Though part of a series, this novel reads well as a standalone.

Gracie Glick is a 26-yr-old self-proclaimed Amish spinster who takes care of everyone around her, often going from home to home helping, especially family. She wants her own family more than anything else. Her dreams of a home and family of her own lead her to boldly propose to Matthew Byler, a recently widowed member of

This was the third book of the series entitled 'Amish of Pontotoc'. Most Amish romances inspire romance, faith, and a positive message. Most of the characters carried over from the first two books, but this one focuses on Gracie and a family just was helping. I definitely enjoyed this book better than the first two.

For the Amish of Pontotoc, Mississippi, faith, and family are everything--even when they pose the greatest challenge . . .

This is the third book in this series, and I am happy to be back with the Glick family, and continuing on with their lives. Yes, this book can be read alone, and the author gives us lots of information to keep us up to date, but you will quickly want to pick up the past two books!
This is Gracie’s story, a woman who always ready to give the extra hand to help those in need, and she sure goes the extra mile in this story.
Matthew Byler is now a struggling widower with five children, and boy is he
A Family for Gracie was such a wonderful story! I love marriage of convenience tropes and this one provided great angst and tension due to some assumptions and unfulfilled hopes that Gracie had for what her life would look like once she was married to Matthew.

I loved the caring, sweet person that Gracie was. She worked so hard to be a good mother to Matthew’s children and hoped to be a good wife to Matthew. Her disappointment at finding out that Matthew did not want to add any more children to
A Family for Gracie is the third novel in the Amish of Pontotoc series. It can easily be read as a standalone if you have not read the other books in this series. I thought A Family for Gracie was a sweet, expressive story. It is well-written with engaging characters and a lovely setting. Gracie has numerous relatives, but she wants her own family. She longs for a husband and children. Matthew is a widower with five children. Gracie knows little about Matthew except he is eligible and needs a ...more

I was glad to see Lillard write Gracie’s story after being introduced to young Gracie in the first two books of the Pontotoc Mississippi series. Gracie Glick had suffered a lot of loss in her younger years and was always willing to aid others when they had a need. But Gracie had one desire for so long, which was a family of her own. Her proposal to Matthew Byler took him by surprise with an abrupt no. Matthew was overwhelmed with four lively young boys and an infant daughter who cried ...more

Oh my goodness I think this just might be my favorite book in this series! First of all, Gracie is so shy and yet so forward with Matthew! I know it's in the book blurb, but it still caught me off guard. Here's the other thing about Gracie - she is such a strong person. Do I totally agree with her reasons for marrying Matthew? No. BUT there's a point in the story where I wasn't sure how she was going to continue in the relationship because of something that happens between her and Matthew. And ...more

Thank you Amy Lillard for another fantastic story!!
I'm so happy that Gracie finally got her own story!!
What can I truly say about this book?
Yes this story has it all!! Trust, forgiveness and Faith.
It really takes cooperation from both people to make a marriage work. A lot if work!! But I feel that with God's help and trust it can work. Look at me and my husband. We've been married for 22 years and still going strong!!
We're sort of like Matthew and Gracie jumping in from the get go not knowing

This was another one that I struggled with. I really liked the premise, especially learning how the Amish community might deal with post pardum depression. I've enjoyed books in the past where a marriage of convenience evolves to something more.

That said, I really struggled with Gracie and Matthew. Gracie's feelings were obvious, toward not only the children but toward Matthew as well. Matthew on the other hand was gone more than he was present in the book. I felt the author focused far too

Another wonderful book by author Amy Lillard that will captivate you from the first sentence to the last paragraph!!
Gracie Glick has always wanted a family. But, at 26 years old, she feels that time is almost at the end for this to happen. That is until she meets widower Matthew Byler, who is the father of 4 boys and an infant daughter.
Gracie actually asks Matthew to marry her. What will be his answer?
You will not want to miss out on reading this book!!

Its 10/10 for me.

The story tells you about family importance

Love it!!! I really felt for Gracie as she struggled to make the best of a fake and sad marriage. This book deals with suicide, marriage, and relationships. I don't think I've ever read an Amish book quite like it. I found that refreshing. I was highly intrigued by the characters as I read the story. Gracie and her sisters also have an interesting business which will delight readers and stir the senses.

A Family for Gracie is the third book in the Amish of Pontotoc series which is set in Mississippi. It's a wonderful continuation with characters we've met before whom had a role in the story plus new ones added. This is Matthew and Gracie's story and it held my interest from the first page to the last.

Matthew is widowed after his wife died a few months after their fifth child and only daughter was born. He's distraught trying to care for the children, run his farm, put food on the table and

I really enjoyed the concept of this story. Most marriages are based on love, but sometimes a marriage is a matter of helping a person out who seems overwhelmed, and needs help with children. Matthew is way over his head with five young children , one which is a baby to raise on his own. I laughed sometimes at the things the children did that made Matthew want to raise his hands up in surrender.

Gracie is a wonderful character who has always wanted a family and to be married. Looks like the

In her new book, A Family for Gracie, Amy Lillard takes her readers back to Pontotoc Mississippi to tell Gracie Glick's story and her desire to have a family of her own.
Gracie is the type of person who is always doing for others, be it a family member or someone else in need. What Gracie longs to have, though, is a family to call her own.
Matthew Byler is a young handsome newcomer to Pontotoc. Matthew is also a widower, who has five children, one which is an infant, named Grace. Matthew is very

First, this series gets better and better with every book. You can read this as a stand alone but to get some references and back story and to better appreciate the book you should read the first two.

Gracie was super sweet, I was a little worried that her bonnet was on a bit tight in the beginning but when her personality started showing through and I saw flashes of spirit and temper she really grew on me. On the other hand I did want to yell at Matthew on quite a few occasions in the book,

This is another wonderful heartfelt and emotional Amish story by Amy Lillard. Gracie feels like she’s going into “Old Maid” status at age twenty six. Most Amish women get married much younger and already have children. And the pickings are slim in her community for an unmarried man. She makes a bold move and takes dinner to recently widowed Matthew and proposes. He initially is shocked but realizes he is at the end of his rope with a young baby and four rambunctious boys to take care of as well ...more

A Family for Gracie is a delightful Amish Christian Contemporary Romance by Author Amy Lillard. It is Book 3 in her series, and she tries to catch readers up on the many characters. I followed it for the most part but wished I had read the first two books first.

This is the story of Gracie. A caring Amish girl that wants nothing more than to find a husband in her church district and have a family of her own. It also is the story of widower Matthew. He has recently been left with some young

This story is about a community of Old Order Amish in Mississippi. Gracie has been helping family for years, taking care of those who are ill or having babies, but hasn’t gotten a chance to get married. She is past the age where most Amish girls marry and feeling a little desperate because in her community in Mississippi there is not a pool of eligible bachelors to be had. Matthew Byler has been recently widowed and has no family in the area. He has 4 young sons and a baby daughter to raise. ...more

She got a lot more than she bargained for...

I've been waiting for A Family For Gracie since Gracie was first introduced. She was the girl always helping others and wanting nothing more than a family of her own to care for. She seemed lonely and even a bit neglected by her relatives. I was beyond curious about what kind of story she would get. I was actually a bit surprised at the direction, marriage of convenience, that Amy Lillard took. But, it was perfect for Gracie, the storyline allowed her

Amy Lillard writes entertaining Amish fiction and has entertained me for hours on end. A Family for Gracie, takes a third daughter in the Glick family, and puts her in a marriage in name only, but with five children.

All Gracie wanted for all her life is a family of her own. Matthew Byler has a family of five children--four boys and a baby girl. The boys are just ordinary boys, sometimes rambunctious, sometimes awfully sweet, and sometimes just boys. Gracie sees that the one thing this little

A Family for Gracie is a beautiful story about forgiveness, acceptance and a second chance love; We start the story with Gracie Glick, who is a 26-year-old spinster (by Amish standards) who has a servants heart and does as much as she can for people in need, but when she saw widower Matthew Byler struggling with his children, she saw a chance to help. But soon that changed into a chance to have her own family, so Gracie became bold and asked him to marry her.

A Family for Gracie is an Amish romance suspense novel by author Amy Lillard. The setting is modern-day Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Gracie Glick’s rumspringa is complete and she is still a spinster. So she is set on marrying Matthew Byler. Instead of the custom of the man seeking the woman Gracie seeks out Matthew. Asking him to marry her. He is a widow with five young children and she wants a family.

I was surprised to read the mention of WalMart in an Amish novel. However, this novel features more

I really liked this third book in Amy Lillard’s Amish of Pontotoc series, A Family for Gracie. I was happy to see a story about Gracie, because we learned so much about her in the first two books! In this story, Gracie proposes to Matthew Byler, a young widow with four boys and an infant daughter. Not only is this unusual for Amish women, it is strange because Gracie and Matthew barely know each other. At first, Matthew is taken aback but the more that he struggles with his five children, the ...more
