Bye-Polar

This is my personal story… There was a time in my life when all of the lights were out and there was nothing but darkness. I was hospitalized for severe depression. I was catatonic and all I could do was stare at the ceiling of the hospital. Through a tremendous amount of courage and support I found my path to wellness. Yoga, meditation, self-inquiry, community, and a willingness to come apart in order to rebuild anew have helped me grow and thrive. This book is a compilation of the struggles and successes that have shaped me to be who I am today. If someone would have told me at the age of 17 when I was in the throes of a severe depression where I would be today; married, a mother of two incredible children, a certified yoga teacher and leader, owner of a yoga studio, I would not have believed it was possible.

What an amazing story and EVERYONE should read it! The author is so brave and bold to share her journey and everyone can find something to learn about themselves by reading it. I plan to read it every time I need to get back on track or to find peace within myself. The author is truly blazing a path of peace, love and acceptance for all of us and I am grateful to have read this book!

I met Julie on an airplane and we talked the entire time. What I admired most about her was how humble she was when she told me she was a writer. I asked her what genre and if she had ever written any books. As soon as I got home I ordered this from her local bookstore. I finally got a chance to sit down and read it this morning and I read the entire thing. It was exciting to read about her journey knowing her personally. She had so many points in the book that were food for thought for my life. I may not have experienced all of the same life events but I found everything so relatable. I hope to see her again in life. This is a great book and especially if you are open to make positive changes in your life.

Julie writes with such honesty it’s like I’m sitting across the table listening to her talk. She holds nothing back about her story. I had moment of laughing out loud and also of profound learning. What an amazing story to be told!
