There Are No Coincidences….
Given a fairy tale life by the clan of dragon shifters that rescued her as a little girl, Emma Sinclair long ago accepted she might never solve the mystery of her heritage. Of course, that was before she could feel the traitor’s pain, before she knew he was slipping away. And before the unthinkable happened… he called to her in the language of his kin.

The Universe Does Not Make Mistakes…
Captured by his brothers. Imprisoned in a cave. Bound in silver chains. Andrew knew his days were numbered. He accepted his fate. Knew he was getting what he deserved. Hallucinations of his long dead parents were his only solace in the debris of a wasted life. Then the scent of salt, sun and fresh air entered his prison. The fragrance stirred visions of expressive brown eyes, a smile that rivaled the sun and a voice that was a balm to his tattered soul. He clung to the memory of her. She became his lifeline…his only hope of survival…

Fate Will Not Be Denied…
One doomed dragon shifter. One very special woman. One destiny no one could have predicted. Will they save dragon kin or destroy it?

Mom of two rockin' girls, Reader of everything, Author of The Dragon Guards series and many more surprises to come!

I am a sarcastic, sometimes foul-mouthed, not afraid to drink a beer, always southern woman with 2 of the most amazing teenage daughters,
a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading who recently decided to write the storied running through her brain. I read my first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat by myself at 4 and was hooked.
I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down and that all heroes of all the books
I have ever read or will ever write pale in comparison to my daddy! I am a sucker for a happy ending and love some hot sweaty sex with a healthy dose of romance.
I am still working on my story but believe it will contain all of the above with as much SPICE as I can work into it. CHEERS!

Andrew is still the little jerk that everyone loves to hate. His family is even beyond believing that his fated mate could ever save him. This book weighs heavy on me for so many reasons. I was laughing at parts, crying in more and just left sad over all. I am not by any means saying that is a bad thing, you have to have some level of emotion brought on by a book or what is the point?

If you are a follower of this series, you better hold on tight because what you are about to read is not in the least what you are expecting.

OMG!.. Fall out of your seat amazing!!! The final book of the dragon guard series is as gripping and exciting as can be. How to write this without giving away the whole story! Emma learns that she needs to be strong and stand up to all those around her if she's going to have a chance at getting Andrew as her mate. With everyone wanting his blood and wanting him dead, what are her chances... will she be able to teach the stubborn old dragons to learn to forgive..not forget but to see that sometimes people can change for the good. Will Andrew swallow his stubborn pride and set aside his quest for revenge in order to achieve a greater goal.... to claim his mate. This was a fantastic final ending to the Dragon Guard series. (even though its not really the end.. there is so much more to tell)

I received an ARC of Fighting for her Dragon for an honest review. Most definately the most heartwarming, heartbreaking and sexy story yet. It starts out gripping your hearstrings and doesn't stop with the intensity. DAM, AWESOME doesn't even begin to cover it. I am honestly still reeling from this book. The emotions that it envokes is unreal. Andrew, the traitor, is calling out to his mate while he lays dying for his actions against the Dragon Guard and their mates. Emma, the jewelry maker, is the one he calls to in his mind. As she recoils from all the pain, only Sydney knows how to reach Andrew in Fades and help soothe her aching heart. All I can say is you HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!!! There is so many aspects of Andrew and Emma's story I could write on it forever, but I don't want to give away any spoilers, because you have to EXPERIENCE IT..Julia Mills had me laughing, crying, and screaming throughout, and I even cussed her out at one point for what happens. If I could give it a 10 star review I would. Absolutely Loved It!!!

~ 4 Fighting Stars ~

Fighting for her Dragon is book seven in the Dragon Guard series by Julia Mills and is best if you read the series in order to understand the character dynamics and dragon world.

I was surprised to find out that book seven in the Dragon Guard series would be about Andrew, the traitor. Throughout this series he is the bad guy with no remorse, lots of self pitting, and this feeling of entitlement, because he is the Special One, which he feels gives him the ability to do whatever he wants. I could not see any redeemable qualities in him, until now. He still feels all of these things, but you start to see a change in him especially when his mate, Emma, comes into the picture. Her light starts to heal his dark soul. She kicks ass and fights for her mate, when everyone else has given up on him. Things move fast, with twist, turns, and surprises plus finally we get to hear the Prophecy in its entirety. Also we get to learn how special Sydney is. I was captivated and emotional entangled from the first to the last page.

Last I liked that the author added an index of the Original Dragon kin language, but I found it very hard with an eReader to jump back and forth in the book to find out what some of the characters where saying. This is one of those instances where I wish I had the book instead of the eCopy.

Fighting for her Dragon was an emotional journey of healing, forgetting the past, and looking to the future. I look forward to more from JMills. She had me crying, laughing, and screaming throughout. I hope this is not the end?

* Disclaimer: I received a complementary review copy from the author and I also bought an eCopy before it arrived. All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own.

Favorite Lines “My heart can’t beat without him. Please just let it end…”

“Follow the pain. Follow your heart. Follow the love, you find the start.”

“Fate may not be denied, but it might just kill me, too.”

“Return to your body,
Return to your life.
Do not waste your gifts,
Live a life free of strife.”

“This is about us, our beginning, and our forever. You’ve had my heart from the moment I saw you under that grape arbor all those years ago. You are my home. You are my reason for living. You are the reason I will never turn to the darkness again. Please don’t ever shut me out. I want us to share every second of our very long lives together.”

Julia Mills just keeps getting better and better!
I have always hated the traitor but yes BUT, Emma has always been spectacular! So kind and sweet. If any woman could bring Andrew back into the light it's Emma.
There were so many emotions in this book!
Mills does an amazing job of making sure you feel each and every one of those emotions.
I cried so hard when we said goodbye to sweetest character! I won't tell you who but I will say it was heartbreaking!
Will there be more? I HOPE SO!
Amazing author! Phenomenal series!

Julia Mills' powerful latest novel in the Dragon Guard series provoked laughter and copious tears from me. Part of an ongoing series that stands as a separate story, the book showcases the author's ever increasing talent at word craft. Julia, whose middle initial is "R", is truly a "jeweler". She's taken the gem of an idea and built it into the story of a traitor and the only woman who can redeem him.

Snared by the enemy who cruelly tricked his brother into believing him dead, Andrew was held for years before convincing his captors that he wanted revenge against the Dragon Guard for abandoning him. Andrew became adept at black magic and pushed his dragon deep inside as he strived toward that goal. When his brother dragons catch up to him, he unbelievably senses his mate in distress within the clan. It seems her life is tied to his, and the fate of the clans just might be, too.

Read this book, and you'll race to read them all...

One thing about this series is the women aren't little maidens who need rescuing they kick a** and fight. Emma is quite the firecracker when passed, "over my dead body will you lock up my mate, Aaron O’Brien! You spineless ba*****! Come in here after all he's been through! No effing way! All of you get the hell out of here. I swear to the Heavens I will tear apart anyone that dares touch him. Get out! Get OUT! GET THE HELL OUT NOW!! This book was alright I generally like when the couple's spend time together there wasn't much of that in here but seeing as this was Andrew's story I think it was more about redeeming

Oh My!!!! What a fabulous ending to this part of the story. Ms. Mills has given Andrew & Emma a beautiful story.

I will not give any spoilers in this review but OH MY GOODNESS, there is a HUGE surprise that had me crying my eyes out. And that was not the only thing that will surprise readers. There were so many twists & turns in this book, so many surprises that I may have to read it a second time just to wrap my brain around everything. If you are a fan of the Dragon Guard series this is an absolute MUST read!!!!!

CAPTIVATING, COMPELLING, ENCHANTING, SEXY & ENTERTAINING !
Wow! Like really, really Wow! Fighting For Her Dragon is the seventh book in the amazing Dragon Guard Series by Julia Mills and she's outdone herself - again! I'm almost at a loss for words and for me, that's almost a near impossible occurrence. I'm not usually one to play favorites but I have to admit, this is my favorite of the entire series. I cried through the entire book. I almost used an entire box of tissues. Yikes! The story is exciting, thrilling, captivating, compelling, original, imaginative, heartwarming, heartbreaking, sweet, romantic, arousing, sensual and oh so dreamy. Sigh.... The dialogue is exceptionally well written, smart and flows beautifully. The characters are fascinating, engaging, intriguing, well developed, relatable and so, so sexy. Another sigh....... This is very much a character driven story. The story draws you in but the characters grab your attention, capture your heart and hold you prisoner from beginning to end. Julia does a brilliant job of combining these elements into a wonderfully entertaining paranormal story filled with to the brim with adventure, intrigue and romance. The man we have all loved to hate, the traitor Andrew O'Brien, has finally been captured and if he survives, will face a Tribunal to determine his guilt for treason and receive judgement for the heinous crimes he has committed against his dragon kin. If found guilty, the sentence is death. Or is it? Hmm..... Emma Sinclair, the lovely young jeweler who was found as a young child and raised by Siobhan, has fallen ill with a mysterious ailment and the only thing she hears is the voice of the traitor in her mind. He has been calling to her, reaching for her, calling her his mate and begging her to come to him since the moment he set foot back in the Red Fire Clan Lair. What? Emma is just a very sweet human and she's his mate??? She is human - isn't she??? The only way to save her is to break the bond but Andrew is injured and suffers from silver poisoning and is already near death. Can Andrew's blackened heart soften to stop seeking revenge and allow him to finally love and save Emma? Can the love of one woman, pure of heart, be enough to redeem a monster created by torture and suffering? Will Andrew die before he can free her from their bond? Or will both, Andrew and Emma die! Oh my! No spoilers from me but I will say this......Sexy Dragons-check! Beautiful mates-check! Wonderful cast of familiar characters-check! Adventure, danger, drama, suspense, intrigue, plot twists, prophecies revealed, new malevolent enemies made known-check! Sweet romance, heartbreaking angst and fiery passion-you bet! I have read all seven books in this series and I have loved each and every one. I can hardly wait to read the next story in this fantastic series! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

This is the seventh, and final book, in The Dragon Guard Series. I'm a little upset about it being the final book. I love this world that Julia Mills has created. It just sucks you right in. I will always be Team Devon! I have been hooked from the first word in the first book. This is one of my favorite series. You can read these as standalones, but there is a storyline that continues through out all seven books. You would miss out on all the other alpha dragons finding their mates and that mate bringing each and every dragon to their knees.

Andrew O'Brien, the traitor has finally been caught. He will have to face the tribunal for what he has done. But plans change when he realizes that Emma is his mate. He will do anything to protect her, including dying for her.

Andrew changes so much in this book. We see him go from completely evil, to loving Emma so completely and asking for forgiveness.

"Andrew O'Brein did not want to be with anyone, he was a loner and capable of dealing with anything and everything on his own...but...he wasn't. He not only wanted to be with Emma, to be a better person because of her, he needed to be with her. Needed to show her that her faith in him was not unfounded. He just knew if he could get back there, e could be the man and dragon she needed."

Emma Sinclair has been raised by the dragon clan, she has no clue about where she cam from. She is the jewelry maker. Most people knew she was special, just not how special and what she is exactly. I couldn't wait to find out about her history.

When we find out who Emma really is, lets just say I was not expecting that.

Hidden pasts and all questions are answered in this book.

Sydney's scenes had me crying. She is one amazing little girl. I had a feeling about why she was so special and I was partially right.

This is such an amazing read that is full of surprises.

And we get the full prophecy!

Andrew is well on his way to redeeming himself completely. His brethren are starting to come around, especially after what he did for Grace.

"Emma O'Brien, I cannot conceive of a forever where you are not the center of my world. I love you, with everything I am and everything I hope to be."

Andrew really is the "Special One" and the Universe does not make mistakes!

“My wish was answered”

Fighting for her Dragon Book #7 (Dragon Guard Series) Julia Mills

I have to say I loved this read and my wish for Andrew came true. For those of you who are following Julia’s Dragon Guard Series, you all probably despised Andrew O’Brien AKA the Traitor, and also The Special One. But I can honestly say I did not. I so wanted to see him redeem himself. There was just something in the reads that made me believe he could drop the egotistical, vengeance mindset and set things right. I had to believe that all his delusional thoughts about his brethren (and his blood brothers) were just that. I guess anyone who is captured and tortured would do just about anything to survive. Based on his mindset what kept him going was to inflict vengeance to the Dragon Guard for leaving him behind and forgetting about him, so he thought.
Andrew so needed something or someone to make him see the light. Oh boy did he get it. After he was captured and jailed at the compound he could feel his mate. He knew she was close. The shocker was who his true mate was. It was Emma.
As the read plays out and the Guardsmen and their mates realize Emma is Andrew’s Mate you would think they would be a little more compassionate but they weren’t. It wasn’t until some pretty significant twists in the read played out with regards to Emma that things seemed to settle somewhat. Andrew died in order to save Emma from the pain she was feeling, his pain but he wasn’t truly dead just in between. Emma was the one who could bring him back but it had to be her decision and her want. It turns out they needed Andrew to fulfill the prophecy and Emma wanted her mate the one she was made for, her one.
Andrew has a long way to go to win back his brethren’s trust, but I think with Emma by his side it will eventually work out. Be prepared for three major shockers, one involving Andrew and what he did for Aiden and Grace, gave me chills, one was with Emma , actually two, she has a sister and what made Emma special, and the other was involving Sydney. Wow never saw that coming. I can’t wait for the next read. They just keep getting better and better.

I received an ARC copy of this incredible book in exchange for an honest review and I'm SO glad I did!! I honestly could not put this book down, I read it straight through in one sitting!! It grabs you from the first word and brings you into a wonderful world of fantasy and undying love. It will tug at your heart and emotions, I smiled, laughed and even cried because the character quickly become so REAL and believable, you just cannot help but feel so much emotions outpouring from the pages!!! It is a true tale of forever love and commitment and a fantastic glimpse into a world where shifting dragons DO exist, live and try to remain in tact. This is the latest book in The Dragon Guard Series and while I read this before the others, I did not feel lost or that I had missed anything. You may find information that will shed light on prior books *spoilers* reading out of order, but it in no way takes away from the story, this book could certainly stand alone and entertain the reader thoroughly. All the characters are described in such detail and are extremely believable. You will take a peak into shifters that exist for hundreds of years trying to preserve their kind and the closeness of a wonderful clan of characters. You just can't help but fall in love with the two main characters, Emma & Andrew and you will also be drawn to key other characters, specifically a magical child named Sydney who will just tear at your heartstrings. A fabulously written book that captured me from word one!!! I would recommend this to readers of all ages, who have a love for fantasy, dragons, other realms and incredible love stories. I cannot wait to read the entire series, and plan on starting that right away!! Grab this book and your box of tissues, your in for one heart wrenching ride, but worth EVERY word!! Love, Love, Loved it!!!

"There are no coincidences. The Universe does not make mistakes. Fate will not be denied" These words are so true for this story! So the Dragon Guard saga continues. This book engages so many different emotions, had me crying and it just pulls at your heartstrings. You know it's a great book when the author can accomplish all your emotions as this story does!!!

Andrew, the traitor, has been captured and imprisoned. He passes Emma (the jewelry maker) and realizes that she is his mate and seeing him, she knows this is true for herself too. Emma stringently defends Andrew while everyone else wants his blood. Who can blame them after all he has done. Emma tells everyone there is still good in Andrew and little Sydney agrees with her. Emma and Andrew have such a strong bond that they can mind speak with each other and she feels all his pain. Andrew is dying and Emma is the only one that can save Andrew (the Special One)!

There are so many surprises, revelations and twist and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. If you have read all the other Dragon Guard books, this one is definately a must!! I just loved this one and I think this is the best one yet! I so highly recommend it.

This book was a gift from the author for an honest review.

This is really Andrew and Emma's story but it takes some amazing revelations, and a couple of bonafided miracles to get it told... King Alarick, the first dragon... He is responsible for the birth of the dragon shifters, even makes an appearance. And Shavon, he is the first Elder and was brought forth to bring the spirit of the "Special One" home. And remember that book that Andrew was trying to translate? Well, this is just one of the things that is going to boggle your mind.
Somehow, the mating bond between Emma and Andrew is established, but it happened so fast that she is sharing his pain...On Every Level. She spends days in agony until she is brought to Andrew. Only then do they both find some relief.... but nothing can prepare you for what happens from here on in! And our sweet, shy and talented jewelery maker, you know, Emma, she makes all the jewelery with the dragon scales that Devon brings her.... well, she becomes one Fierce woman as she stands up to the Clan and Fights For Her Dragon!
This is such a remarkable and soul shattering journey of forgivness and redemption, that even my hardened heart has softened. I mean, after all, the Universe doesn't make mistakes and FATE WILL NOT BE DENIED!

Sadly, this is the final book in the Dragon Guard series. The emotions that Julia envokes from you in this book are really an amusement park ride. The rollercoaster is to tame, maybe a twister is more like it. Our dragon-shifter that everyone really hates has finally been brought in to go to the Tribunal for the crime against his brethren and their mates. Then we find out Emma, the mild, meek jewelry maker who creates beautiful pieces from shedded dragon scales, is his mate. This is when all hell breaks loose. I can’t say too much without giving anything away but I will say that Emma is a real spitfire. Touch her Andrew and she is kicking and screaming, literally. I would advise that you have a box of tissue nearby as you read this. You will laugh and cry and even think “Julia? What the …?” at some chapters. Even though this is the end of the Dragon Guard series I know Julia will still be writing more. Probably including some dragons too. There is a reason she is known as the Dragon Lady by some.

REVIEW
I don’t even know where to begin with this book. Many have Andrew the traitor through out this entire series but I myself have seen more. I didn’t know what till now.
Wow what a bunch of shockers the author has given us and surprises to go with them. I didn’t know if I wanted to cry, scream or laugh. Andrew knows he has a mate and who she is. The issue now is she is feeling every ounce of his pain. He wants to release her from him but a bunch of things begin to happen. The gods themselves intervene. Emma will fight to the death for her mate. He may be a traitor but in her eyes he is her mate. Will the other guards stand aside?
Someone is lost to the guards and hearts will mourn. I have read every single book in this series and I have to say. THIS one is THE BOMB DIGGITY of them all. I freaking loved it.

I received this book for an honest review.

Having been a fan of Julia's and her Dragon Guard from the beginning I have to say I was not disappointed in this book!! We still got all the hotness of the alpha dragons and the strength of their mates but there were moments of such heartfelt emotion that I was brought to tears,

Not writing a synopsis but boy was this book full of surprises. There were twists and turns that I never expected. As I said moments that had me crying. The biggest surprise of all just broke me. This book evoked more emotion that the other books and just might be my favorite of the series. As the final book in the series Julia Mills went out with a bang!! This is a book you don't want to miss!!!

Thank you Julia for a fantastic end to and equally fantastic series! Love the Dragon Guard and their mates!!

Emma the beautiful jeweler we've seen throughout the series and now we finally find out more about her. And of all the luck her mate is the traitor everyone hates! But are things really as hopeless as they look?

Andrew screwed up and now he has to pay. He still mostly doesn't see the wrong in what he did, but now he has someone else he has to care for and she may be the light that changes everything for him. If he can open up and accept her and everything she has to offer.

Finally after years Andrew has been captured, but after everything is there still redemption for him? There are shocking twists and turns out there in this one that will throw you through a loop once again. Everythings that happens you don't see coming and it made for a great read. My only wish was for it to be a bit longer!

Every since Julia's first dragon guard book she has had me hooked! Seriously what's not to love about hot men who love women that have their own mind and have no qualms about stating it either! You will never find a review from me that is detailed. I do not like to spoil all the fun. Andrew is the traitor that has made all of the dragon guards life hell. Now that he's captured. Fate has decided that Emma is his mate. What will happen now?

If you haven't read the other books in this series, STOP. Go back and read them, there are ongoing story lines to follow.

At the end of the last book Andrew is finally captured, he is seriously wounded and dying so no trial has been held to hold him accountable for all he's done.

As this book opens we see Devin as he pounds on Emma's door. Emma is the one who makes the jewelry from dragon scales that all the dragon guards mate wear so proudly. Emma hasn't been around for two days and even as she hears Devin, she doesn't have the strength to answer him.

She's been hearing the traitor, Andrew, in her head since he was brought in to the lair. He's calling her his mate and is begging her to come to him. She's in so much pain all the time now, and before Devin reaches her, she passes out.

She becomes a bit aware of her surroundings and realizes she's in the new clinic. Devin is there with Pearce one of the healers, Siobhan is with Andrew at the moment. Phillip assesses her condition, she has internal bruising, but can find no external marks.

Siobhan returns and sheds light on what they are seeing. It seems Emma is Andrew's mate and somehow the mating bond has been triggered and she is sharing his pain on every level. Andrew wants Emma to come to him so he can break the bond. Now Siobhan is going to try and convince him to do so without Emma being near him.

Andrew in the meantime, knows he's dying. He's thinking back on all his regrets, but the one that surprises him is that he'll never get to know his mate. He's floating in the Ether and continues to look on his life. Then his father starts talking to him, bring to light Andrew's faults and shortcomings. He doesn't stay in the Ether though, it seems he's somewhere in-between. He looks for the mating bond, when he finds it, it's dimming, and so is Emma at the other end of it. It's her words that change his mind about things.

Emma herself isn't faring well in spite of everyone trying to help her. They are keeping something from her, and it's Devon who explains what happens when a Guard dies. As he explains, he brings her to Andrew.

Andrew has been reviewing his memories, and realizes he really wants to live to have a chance to know his mate and his mother sort of helps him. It's once again Sydney who does what she does that helps guide him more.

The book Andrew had is evil but some of the pages are from another tome. Siobhan, with the help Pearce and Kyra has correctly translated the prophesy Andrew found. It states in no uncertain terms that without Andrew they would lose a war that would destroy the earth.

Now they think they are doomed since they don't know that Andrew isn't quite dead yet. It's Sydney who brings this to their attention. It takes time and the elders and Emma work hard looking for the answer to their dilemma.

From here it's going to take a lot of faith, a lot of love and a rebuilding of trust for the dragon guard to become whole again. More research will be involved to gain knowledge of the ancient.

This book is very emotional and will tug at your heart while opening your mind to more.

I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
