What if the only way forward is to go back?

Peter is stuck. The promise of his youth has petered out into a comfortable but lonely adulthood: his career is flat, his friendships exist only on Facebook and his romantic life is well past its expiry date. But one night, spurred on by a viewing of Back to the Future after one too many drinks, he has an idea—that he will just go

An entertaining and nostalgic read that took me back in time!

I’m an 80’s girl at heart. I loved the clothing, the music, VHS movies (Remember -Be Kind, Rewind?) and so much more!

Peter Eksell is forty-six years old and life hasn’t turned out at all like he thought it would. He feels like his only friendships are online and his love life is non-existent. Peter is self-employed and owns his own company, Webscoe .

Peter just lost his job, he doesn't have any real friends, and his dating life is non-existent. His life is spiraling out of control and he may slightly be depressed. After a night of one too many drinks he comes up with an idea, an idea that to most people would sound farfetched but to peter it'll solve all his problems. Peter decides to travel back in time to the year of 1986. The only issue with time travel is, it doesn't exist. So while Peter is living in the year 1986 everyone else around ...more

Peter feels sick of the world right now - everything is spiralling downwards, he lost his job, and not even the music is what it used to be. Heading towards a clinical depression, he decides to go back to a time when things were easier.

This is a perfect feel good book. The characters are lovable, funny, and close to home, and going as a red thread through it all is a love for the eighties’ music and film. It’s exciting to learn how Peter solves his time-travelling wishes without actually having

I felt like I need to review this for some reason.

First of all, it's not a great book in almost all possible ways.

The language is by no means anything that will stand out and mostly the dialogues are just plain awkward. I read the book in original language in Finnish, which might contribute to this, but I can't imagine them being much better in any language.

The characters - including the main one - is just thin as a slice of a decent blowfish, and I can imagine most people would like to meet

Peter is a smart computer geek in his late forties and his life hasn't turned out the way he planned. His career is totally dead and his love-life is non-existent. With nothing left to lose, he decides to grab his old acid wash jeans and revert his entire life back to 1986 when he was happy in high school. But this time, he's determined to win the heart of his old crush, Jennifer. This sweet feel-good romantic comedy is full of awesome 1980's nostalgia!

Peter's life is going nowhere, so he decides to go back to a time where he was happiest. An amusing and sweet story, especially if you are feeling nostalgic for the '80's. I guess that you CAN go home again.

Kevyttä lukemistoa varsinkin kuunneltuna. Hauska paluu menneisyyteen, joskaan en ihan täysin päässyt kiinni tuohon aikakoneen merkitykseen tässä kirjassa. Mutta kuten sanottua, hauska paluu menneisyyden eli 80-luvun muistoihin.

This book is downright charming! The 80's references are funny and on point. Loved it.
