Photographs and a lyrical text introduce milestones in the lives of human and other animal babies.

Babies love pictures of other babies and this is the perfect book for babies ready to sit for more than the 5 pages or so of a board book.

Thimmesh's adorable photographs of babies of all species are completely captivating. The lovely repeating refrain about the various aspects of all baby's lives is a joy to read out loud. I loved this and babies everywhere are going to love it too.

Sturdy water-resistant pages with rounded corners make this up to the task of rough handling and repeated readings

A large-format board book all about different babies in the animal world, and how they compare with human babies doing familiar things (being born, eating bathing, playing, learning, etc). Additional information about the baby animals expands the audience beyond babies to toddlers as well.

VERY cute, very informative story. I highly recommend it for reading to rugrats when Mom is expecting a new brother or sister for them.

There is WAY too much information in this for a picture book, let alone a board book! Still, the information is cool and the photographs are vivid and interesting.

Human babies similarities and differences with other baby species on Earth are celebrated on each page of this sturdy picture book. Full page spreads feature a color photograph of an animal baby being tenderly cared for by its parent. Page by page the comforting, repetitious primary text is followed by a sentence or two giving the scientific explanation of how each animal cares for its young. Reviewer 4 ...more

This book would be good to read aloud to very young primary aged children. It is engaging to children because of the animals and illustrations. This book compares a human baby to babies from the animal kingdom. It shows how there are similarities between babies of all kinds. The connections to animals appeal to children.
