Creepy, scary short stories are one of my favorite things to read so Terrifying Tales Unleashed by Scott D. Gottschalk didn't sit on my To Read list very long at all. Each story in this book is more macabre than the last but the most brilliant thing is that the fear is delivered via a wide range of avenues; werewolves, aliens, zombies, ghosts and even run of the mill mortals. There are fun, unexpected twists to many of the tales that you don't see coming.

There are a couple entries that, on the surface, seem almost cheesy but you'll find yourself thinking about those the most after you've finished them. If you are a fan of the darker side of literature, Terrifying Tales Unleashed will be a welcome addition to your bookshelves. I have already lent it to a few friends and they have all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Scary!!!
A scary collection of short stories with a variety of characters with common elements of fear, mystery and terror. The stories have all from buried aliens, rats, vampires, flesh eaters and weirdo experiments. There is a lot of variation on common grounds of fear. A treat for fans for horror fictions, but read with the lights on and these are not bedtime stories. The author’s creative imagination is well reflected in some stories that sticks even after finishing it.

Real Scary, But not my style. A good read

As the name suggests, the story is filled with excitement, challenges, and fear. The main character, Kirk had the lust for cave exploration from childhood. He had also developed a good knowledge and expertise in everything, from cavern formation to the intricate aspects of rock geology. His craving for caves turned into an addiction and went to discover the Bighorn Mountains not visited by any human before for which he passed through all fears and challenges. The book is worth to be read about a scary but relatable life event. It will put the reader to edge of the cliff as what would happen next. I would surely advise all readers to read it.

I liked the creativity in this book, but I had to skip around because I couldn’t stay focused. I felt like it went into a lot of unnecessary detail.
