The Jericho Black Universe: The following well written books are all part of this universe and take place in a timeline from 1910 until 1980, as of January, 2019. The third book Retribution starts in 1980. All the storylines are carried throughout this series of books. The storylines are intriguing, suspense filled and so mesmerizing it's hard for the reader to put down the book(s). I chain read all but Among Wolves, which I had already read and made me interested in reading the rest of the stor ...more

I am beginning to realize that I need to read these books in sequence as some of the story lines don't make sense to me without doing so. This book is set between one I have already read and one that I have just started. I'm sure the pieces will fall into place. That said, I continue to like this author's work. He has developed some great characters - not always likable but always interesting. This book is a quick read and is based on Ariel, Jacob's daughter. Ariel is a troubled woman, plagued b ...more

much the same as in the US Civil war, brothers killing brothers, cousins killing cousins - all in the name of faith in what each holds dear - with near countless collateral damage.

the Lion of Israel is a young woman caught up in that fight, with far too many battle scars for a woman her age.

given the stakes, and the combatants, is there really anyone who wins?

She had a bright future in maths and she is happy with her life. She is asked to be a decoy on a mission and she does it, thinking it is one time thing. It may not turn out that way. See how it will end

I always enjoy the novellas in the Jericho Black universe. Adds to each minor character's overall arc. This one delves into a story about Ariel, and focuses on her external conflicts as well as her infernal demons.
