Falling in love can only mean trouble for an Englisch girl and an Amish boy… unless there’s another way for them to listen to their hearts.

Englischer Natalie Collins looks forward to Friday night suppers at Levi and Mary Shetler’s house every week: delicious food, wonderful conversation with her Amish friends, and, best of all, the presence of Levi’s older brother Lucas.

Listening to Love by Beth Wiseman is book two in her An Amish Journey series, though it reads well as a standalone. I’m a fan of Beth Wiseman and was not disappointed with this novel.

Natalie Collins and Lucas Shetler are friends, but their friends and families don’t approve of their friendship because Natalie is an Englisher, non-Amish, and Lucas is Old Order Amish. Natalie and Lucas ignore all the warnings, because Lucas is teaching her about the Christian faith and they’re just friends.
Listening to Love is the second An Amish Journey Novel. It can be read on its own if you have not read Hearts in Harmony. I thought Listening to Love is well-written with developed characters and steady pacing. Natalie Collins loves animals and is pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine thanks to Mary and Levi Shetler. They sold the beautiful piano they inherited from Adeline and gave the money to her. There is a problem, though, preventing her from moving forward. She cannot give shots and the ...more

I was really enjoying this story, and being back with old friends, that I had previously been involved in.
Two of the characters Natalie, and Lucas are the main focus of this story, and the author has us torn as to what direction their lives will/should take. Then, don’t get two comfortable, the story seems to explode in more than one direction.
This read will keep your attention, and never saw most of it coming, my mind had been going in a completely different direction.
Don’t miss this one, you

Natalie is an Englischer who has found friends among the Amish, she look forward to Friday nights with Mary and Levi Shetler, and Levi's brother, Lucas. Lucas and Natalie share a love of books and learning, and he explains his faith in a way that she can understand. But as they grow closer, the community becomes concerned that their friendship is on dangerous ground.

But an accident forces Lucas and Natalie to finally confront their feelings for each other, and what a future in each other's

It's another homerun for author, Beth Wiseman! This book is truly a winner. I was so drawn into the story of the two worlds that collide even as they are pulled together....Englisch and Amish just don't mix when it comes to romance and romance is brewing for Natalie and Lucas, whether they are ready to admit it or not. Readers will enjoy discovering how the couple resolves their friendship. While this is book two in a series, it can easily be read as a stand alone.

I love that we finally get Natalie's story! Ever since the first book I've been wondering how on earth the author would bring Natalie into the Amish world. Honestly, I had no idea how the author would work in Natalie's story line and how different her world is from the Amish life.

This book definitely did not disappoint! It was definitely realistic the way it was written and Natalie's own progression as a person.

My only complaint is that I really wish we had an epilogue showing just how both

Listening to Love continues the story of Natalie and Lucas relationship. Natalie and Lucas are from two different cultures, the English world and a strict Old Order Amish. .Friends and family were concerned about their relationship growing into something more. There were unexpected twists and turns that gave way to heartbreak and unbelief how someone could be so deceptive. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading Living in Harmony first to appreciate the characters.

Listening to Love by Beth Wiseman
Natalie and Lucas, he an Amish man, she an Englischer. Friends for a long time, but fell in love. Love between the two has caused so much tension in both families. Natalie has finally found God’s love with Lucas’s help. There is so many surprises and twists especially with Natalie’s mother. Love and friendship are always present in both families. Outstanding story and I didn’t want it to end.

Listening to Love is the second book in the Amish Journey Series. It was nice revisiting old characters and learning about new. Listening to Love is a wonderful story about faith, love and listening for God's gentle voice. Beth Wiseman has a way of writing about her characters that you instantly connect and fall in love with them.

I am so glad to have the honor of reading and reviewing a book that is an example of God’s love. The characters are wonderful and very east to relate to. Natalie is hungry to learn more about God and her best friend Lucas is guiding her through scriptures and his own experiences to help her. There is a little bump in their friendship as Natalie is English and Lucas is Amish.

I loved how the author shows the uneasiness that their family and friends have when the two seem to grow closer. Natalie is

When a super-speed reader doesn't have a car for a month due to a predatory car insurance industry, you can get a LOT of reading done!!

I received a temporary digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

From the publisher, as I do not repeat the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it as they do it better than I do .

He’s Amish. She’s Englisch. They are best friends, despite what the gossips say. But could the rumour mill know more

Natalie went to her friend’s Mary and levi’s house every friday night. Lucas was levi’s brother and he also came to their dinner. Natalie and Lucas became best friends. The love of books drew Lucas and natalie together. He was also teaching her about God and the bible. But Mary pulled Natalie aside to worm her that maybe she should back off from Lucas since you don’t always pick who you fall in love with, it can just unexpectedly happen. Listening to Love is a thought-provoking Amish story of love, healing, friendship and family. Although this latest release is the second installment in Beth Wiseman's An Amish Journey series, it can be read as a standalone.

Nineteen year old Natalie Collins is an Englischer whose relationship with God has grown through her friendship with Lucas Shetler. Through an unexpected inheritance and her friends' generosity, Natalie is going to college where she plans to achieve her life-long

This is the second book in the Amish Journeys series. What a joy to reconnect with some of the characters, Natalie Collins and Levi and Mary Shetler. This book is a great standalone for those who haven't read the first in the series.
Natalie loves and looks forward to the Friday night dinners at Levi and Mary Shetler's house. The food and company is wonderful! Levi's brother, Lucas, also attends the dinners. Natalie and Lucas have became very good friends. In addition to the Friday nights, they

If she learned anything lately, it was that fear and worry blocked the voice of God.

Englischer Natalie Collins enjoyed her Amish Friends. The simplicity of life comforted her as her life was in a tailspin. Her parents separated, her mother depressed, and Natalie desiring to become a vet and finish school. Her married Amish friends had been most generous to her when they gifted her a valuable piano which she used the money for school. Levi and Mary Shetler always had Natalie and Levi's brother

In the second novel of Beth Wiseman's Amish Journeys series, Listening to Love, the author takes the reader on a beautiful ride. I truly enjoyed this book, maybe even more than the first in the series. This story is centered on Lucas and Natalie, two friends who we met in book one, Hearts in Harmony. Lucas is from an old-order Amish district that is very strict, while Natalie is an English girl going to school to become a veterinarian. The two are good friends and Lucas has helped Natalie as she ...more

I have very high expectations when opening up a book written my Beth Wiseman! This book is the second in the Amish Journey Series. Her ability to draw me deeply into the lives of her characters is a quality that I love! This book was certainly no disappointment. The tale has us continuing the journey alongside the previously met characters, Natalie and Lucas.

The characters are so realistically and well described that the reader is compelled to walk alongside them in their very rocky path of

In the second installment of the Amish Journey series, we find englischer Natalie Collins and Lucas; the older brother of Levi Sheltar having friday night suppers together. As time passes, the two have become very much best friends to the concern of their family and dear friends Levi and Mary. The opinions of those around them, starts to frustrate Natalie, who adamantly says that it is friendship only. But deep down she is realizing that her feelings have grown toward love for Lucas.

Listening to Love is another outstanding story written by Beth Wiseman in her Amish Journey series. In this story we continue with the journey between Natalie and Lucas. This story is a fast pace story with many interesting events happening that will keep the readers interest and keep them turning pages. The storyline is devastating, heartbreaking, and forgiveness all wrapped into one. There is a little bit of mystery that appears and will definitely throw you off kilter but it adds to the ...more

This is the second book in this series by Beth Wiseman, and it’s just as good as the first book. This story focuses on the characters of Lucas, an Amish young man, and Natalie, an English young woman. Despite the differences in their backgrounds, they become best friends. They are both honorable, caring people and realize that they would bring great distress to both their families if they allowed their friendship to develop into a romantic relationship. I thought the author did a terrific job of ...more

Beth Wiseman is releasing book two in her Amish Journey series. This one kind of picks up where the previous one left off. Mary and Levi are married and have friends they invite for Friday suppers every week. Natalie, the friend, is also friends with Lucas, Levi's brother. The hitch in this tale is that Natalie is Englisch and Lucas is Amish. They see nowhere for their relationship to go. Lucas knows he will be giving up much of what made up his life if he continues to court Natalie.

Listening to Love takes us on a sweet journey about friendships, love, and forgiveness.

Natalie Collins has become friends with the Shetler family, especially Lucas. Once a week, on Friday evenings she has supper and conversation with them. Natalie and Lucas share many things in common, one being their love of books. Lucas has helped Natalie grow closer to God with his scriptures and stories.

Natalie wishes to become a vet one day. While Lucas is from the Old Order Amish, he can't help but be

I found Listening To Love, the second in Beth Wiseman's An Amish Journey Series, to be an exciting read. I have read several other books by Ms. Wiseman and have enjoyed every one. She does not disappoint. This is such a sweet story of faith, family, beliefs and love. Beth is an incredible storytelling. She writes carefully crafted characters that you can't help but fall in love with. Lucas Shelter and Englischer. Natalie Collins are two of the sweetest young adults you will ever meet. I was so glad to revisit the characters we met in Hearts in Harmony and to read how Natalie, an Englisher navigates her life. The story keeps you glued to your chair as you experience the many twists and turns it takes. It is a poignant tale of relationships between daughter and mother, Amish and English, man and woman, and some are difficult. I enjoyed watching the characters grow and develop and learn that life is about compromise to make relationships grow and develop into what God plans. The ...more

This story was interesting and I think somewhat unique in that both mother and daughter, both of whom are Englisch, have relationships with Old Order Amish men. Both struggle with the differences and the Amish men in question are struggling with the situation as well. Natalie Collins falls in love with Lucas, who is Amish. Meanwhile, her mother becomes the employee of Lucas’ neighbor, also Amish. As both families struggle with the relationship between Lucas and Natalie, they need to find enough ...more

I received this book as an ARC from Zondervan in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

Amish and Christian Fiction are very popular with our community for their modern take on romance, faith, and love. We have been hearing talks of the release of this book so when it became available to review, I had to jump at the chance and I am so glad I did. A great story with many twists especially on the part of Natalie's mum. It's the first time I'm reading anything by this author and I enjoy the way she pulls you into the story. He has opened her eyes to how much God loves her and she is eager to learn more. This was a sweet and endearing book to me. I loved how the characters of different religious stages in their lives and different understandings come together as friends and how relationships form and become damaged and see whether they have the needed faith to repair the imperfections that exist.

Lucas is a young Amish man who has a special and close friendship with Natalie. As this friendship grows family members become very concerned about this and worry that their friendship will become more.

When I started reading this book I immediately realized I had already read the first book in this series. This book can totally be read as a stand alone. This continuation of Natalie and Lucas's story, I think it is one of the best I've read in a while. Both Natalie and Lucas have to learn the art of communication, dealing with emotions, and over coming obstacles of change.
I give this story 5 out of 5 stars for the unique and unexpected twists, the overcoming spirits that the
