I was so excited when I learned that Stacy Finz was starting a new series. Not that I don't love her other ones but I couldn't wait to see what she was going to come up with next.

I'm happy to say that she hit it out of the park for me. I just loved Cowboy Up. It gave us a new set of characters to love and a slightly different setting.

In Cowboy Up we meet the Cash and his cousins. I just love them. They are great,

A quote (from ARC):
If you let her go, youll be sorry. For once in your life, let your heart lead you instead of your insatiable need to save the planet. Take a chance on love and cowboy the fuck up.
I was completely absorbed by Cowboy Up, its a wonderful story about ordinary people facing extraordinary and unexpected events with strength and aplomb. This is my second time reading Stacy Finz and I find her writing style

I had the privilege of reading an early version of this story, and it's so, so good!!! Full of great banter, complex characters, and sexy fun. I've read a lot of Stacy Finz's books, and this one is her best so far. I was sucked into this new Dry Creek world she created, populated by sexy cowboys and quirky small town characters!

ARC REVIEW

Dry Creek Ranch #1, New series I'm so happy. This was a good read, just like so any other Finz stories you have witty banter, complex characters with enough baggage in their past and present to make them interesting, quirky side characters, and hunky cowboys. This is a great start to the series with wonderful character introductions and vague background on the other two cousins who live on Dry Creek Ranch.

Jace, Sawyer, and Cash are cousins who inherited the ranch from their

I love contemporary western stories! In this story you have surprise 12 year old daughter reveal, cheating, lying and gossip, cattle rustling and love.

Cowboy Up by Stacy Finz

I received a copy of this novel from my friends at Net Galley and the publisher. I have never read anything by this author before, but I have read my fair share of Cowboy Romance novels to be able to compare.

Firstly, there are many options for continuation of the story, as Swayer and Jaces stories have potential to develop more. That being said, the characters (both major and minor) were well developed and all had their own unique style and personality. The plot of the

Cash Dalton is back in Dry Creek, and back on the family ranch, after leaving his job at the FBI. He is dealing with the fallout from that and the fact that he has a 13-year daughter that he didnt know about. Aubrey McAlistar is living in the cottage next to Cash after she broke up with her fiancée and in the process alienating herself from most of the town. Dry Creek Ranch #1

Cash Dalton and his cousins have inherited their grandfathers ranch and though would rather sell the ranch to pay off back taxes his cousins, Jace and Sawyer, would rather keep it. How they will manage financially is a mystery in this book and remains a mystery at the end BUT with at least two more books for the cousins and perhaps one for someone named Angie a solution may be found before the series ends.

In this book we learn a bit about all three men

When Aubrey catches her fiancé cheating, shes fortunate her old friend Jace Dalton lets her rent a cabin on the ranch his grandfather left to him and his two cousins, Sawyer and Cash. And it becomes even more fortunate when her fiancé twists things, turning the entire town of Dry Creek against her. Even though the ex has blackballed her from working as an interior designer in town, at least the Dalton cousins are on her side. I have read every single book written by Stacy Finz and am so excited for this new Dry Creek Ranch Series. There is nothing that I love more than a good western small town with its amazing people and their love for family, friends, gossip and scandals. It is all there in Cowboy Up from beginning right until the end. You will not be disappointed. Join Cash and Aubrey on their journey as they rebuild their lives. I always have a love/hate relationship with Cowboy Romances, but I'm glad to say Cowboy Up was the awesome start to a new series by Stacy Finz. Lots of witty banter and interesting well-written characters. Though, sometimes the best part is the side characters. Dry Creek Ranch Series is one I will be sure to be looking for in the future. Another thing that caught my attention with this novel is it's not just a Cowboy Romance, it's also a Family Drama. I honestly think that is what has put it on ...more

Cowboy Up

It's been a while since I've read a Stacy Find book, and I have missed them. Cowboy Up is a great story. Love how Cash works so hard to get Ellie to respond favorably to him. Aubrey is a pretty good heroine too. Looking forward to the rest of this series.

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. Cash trying to now figure out where his life is going after leaving the FBI and learning after twelve years he has a daughter come into his life. Then Aubrey who has grown up in Dry Creek has to overcome a rumor she knows isn't true because she doesn't want to hurt a good friend she grew up with. A twist takes a turn you don't see but easy to follow along. A great start to this series.

Cowboy Up is I believe the first in author Stacy Finzs new Dry Creek Ranch series. I say I believe because theres nothing at the end of the story nor on the authors website to tout the next book in the series. But the book does show under the header Dry Creek Ranch, this book ends not necessarily with a cliff hanger but definitely with some questions about the future and with two of the three Dalton cousins Cash, Jace and Sawyer unattached. So I have to believe therell be two more books for Jace ...more

If you love a small-town romance with all the craziness, all the townsfolk knowing each others business, one nasty piece of work to loathe, one life-changing surprise, and two people who connect on levels they never expected then youre going to love COWBOY UP. Add to that lineup should you enjoy getting in on the beginning of a series then youve hit gold with this one.

Wonderfully written story revolving around three cousins, all of whom own the Dry Creek Ranch left to them by their grandparents. This story, this is Cash's story and it is about as complicated as it can get when living out on a ranch that is deep in debt and running down daily. He is a former FBI agent and trying to come to terms with not having a job and just finding out that a one-night-stand some 12 years ago produced the daughter he never knew existed until her dying mother contacted him ...more

A Mixed Bag

A western romance is a twofer in my book - two for the price of one, and I was ready for some light reading. So Cowboy Up seemed like it hit all the right notes. The primary characters, Cash Dalton and Aubrey McAlister, are neighbors. Hes a former FBI agent living on the ranch he loved where he spent his summers as a boy. Aubrey was engaged and mere days away from her wedding when she caught her fiancé in the act with a married woman. When Cash finds out hes the father of Ellie and

This is a fantastic book to read. I adored Cash and Aubrey (along with his 12 year old daughter Ellie). The plot was well written and a such that it felt like I was right there in the middle of the scene. There was a lot going on with these characters and it kept me guessing. I look forward to more of Dry Creek Ranch Series. The two remaining cousins Jace and Sawyer are such wonderful men that I look

Fabulous start to a series. I fell in love with the characters, the towns folk, and the hubbub going on in Dry Creek. The author has given us a funny, sexy, heartfelt storyline with characters that will reach in and grab your heart and soul. The characters are so well defined I felt like I knew the whole town. Plus there are several background stories going on that make the reader feel like they are right there in the heart of the town watching thats happening. I just cant wait for more from Dry ...more

Cowboy Up by Stacy Finz is the first in a new series: Dry Creek Ranch. Cowboy Up focuses on Cash Dalton, a former FBI agent who is still haunted by the victim of a serial killer who he was too late to save. He lost his job over the fiasco and has been sitting, drinking, on the porch of a cabin on the ranch he and his three cousins inherited recently from their grandfather. A few weeks ago he discovered he had a daughter from a one-night stand twelve years ago. Lat week her mother died and left ...more

There were so many things I liked about this book and one that I didn't. This was not the authors fault but she did such an amazing job at her story telling it sort of happened.

I really liked Cash. For all his grumpiness he really did have a lot going on right now. The man has a lot on his plate. Every aspect of his life is in upheaval and he isn't being given a chance to process it. Loosing his job, demands about their grandfathers farm from his cousins and oh ya, finding out are a father to a

This book promised me a hot cowboy who is a single dad, some neighborly bickering and love. I got all of this, but I wasnt really satisfied. In my opinion the plot was rushed and if scenes were longer for me that were not the important scenes. I wished for more and longer scenes between Cash and his daughter. Their relationship was so fragile and not at all formulated in a way that was believable. I wished there was more to them, but I did not get

This one pretty much has it all. A wounded and scarred FBI agent, a 12-year-old daughter he never knew he had until a few weeks ago, a town pariah who really isn't really the bad-girl but won't rat out what really happened because it would hurt too many people. The town of Dry Creek has literally turned their back on Aubrey McAllister because she dared to cancel her wedding to the town's golden boy just weeks before they were set to walk down the aisle. She had her reasons. They were very good ...more

Stacy has started a new series, and its clear her heart is 100% in it with this tale of failure, recovery, redemption, and second chances, with a little mystery thrown in for good measure. Aubrey and Cash meet at the very lowest point in their lives, and are drawn to each other despite knowing that nothing can come of it. Yet its clear that they bring out the best in each other, and despite their best efforts they start to bond. Can both of them cowboy up and face the rotten hands theyve been ...more

While I do LOVE a cowboy, I generally steer toward more contemporary novels but as a newcomer to this author's work, I'm pleasantly surprised how much I liked this book. Stacy Finz did a great job creating rich, layered characters with a great deal of internal conflict making the storyline super compelling.

My only critique is some of the storyline felt like a continuation of earlier work, as if it were later in a series and an investment in some of the characters had already been built. (I'm

A great start to Stacy Finz newest series. I have really enjoyed her Garner Brothers and Nugget series and Cowboy Up feels like a cross between the two. The focus is on three cousins who have inherited their Grandfather's ranch in the small Northern California town of Dry Creek.

Cash is a former FBI agent whose life has been turned upside down by a difficult case, the loss of his job, and a twelve year old daughter he just found out about.

Aubrey is trying to rebuild her life and keep her career

Wow. Just wow. Im not sure where to start with this one.

Aubrey McAlister is nobody's favorite person in Dry Creek. She has committed the unforgivable sin of (gasp!) calling off her wedding to the most popular man in town. She has her reasons but is keeping them hidden in order to save the inevitable heartbreak for a friend who has already been through a lot. Her car is vandalized, her coffee may or may not have spit in it, and her job prospects have dried up (the downside of working for your fiancé). Basically, Aubrey's life is crap.
