The fourth book in the Billionaire Prince Romance series from New York Times Bestselling Author Erin Hayes, featuring Prince Ferdinand of Dubreva.
Tragedy ripped them apart. Can a chance meeting on the other side of the world reunite them?
Prince Ferdinand knew his place. He wasn’t in line for the throne, he wasn’t in the spotlight, and he certainly wasn’t labeled a Prince Charming. He didn’t mind.
Then he met Alexandra Daae, the diplomat’s daughter who was destined to marry his cousin. Though everyone thought she was out of his league, she fell for him too. They were ready to break the rules for love.
Until tragedy struck, and their dreams of a future together were shattered.
Now, fifteen years later, Ferdinand is still trying to rebuild the walls of his heart. When his younger brother has baby, all Ferdinand can do is leave Dubreva for a while to deal with his own heartache.
Then he spots Alexandra in the most unlikely of places. And there, everything changes.

Prince Ferdinand knew he wasn't important in the line of succession and was fine with that. When he met diplomat's daughter Alexandra Daae who was destined to marry his cousin, it was him she fell for and they were all ready to break all the rules for love when tragedy struck and the future they had dreamed of was shattered. He is still not over it even 15 years later when his younger brother has a baby with his partner and he just has to leave Dubreva for a while to deal with the heartache. Miraculously he spots Alexandra there and everything starts to change for the better. Can fate finally b on their side?
This was a sweet story and on the face of it was very enjoyable, but the merging of the past and the present in the same chapter of the book became a little irritating in the end. So I enjoyed the story but then I also didn't enjoy some aspects of it which were a shame as they came to the conclusion that I knew was right (even if I hadn't really understood why certain things happened in the past). A nice story which was enjoyable if you bear in mind the shifts in the timeline.
Ferdinand is used to helping others solve their problems as a therapist he listens and advises them on their troubles. Dealing with his own past hurts he’s not managed to deal with the way he would advise his patients. Things comes to a head when his younger brother Henry, has his first child.
Fifteen years ago he lost the love of his life, Alexandra, when she broke off their secret engagement after losing their daughter whilst five-months pregnant. With the anniversary of their babies death, they both head to Tokyo separately to help place closure on the past hurts. With Alexandra placing a shrine to the baby, whilst Ferdie stumbles upon her.
Old feelings are stirred up, however, Alexandra is engaged to someone else and isn’t sure that they can move on from their past. Needing to gain closure they go their separate ways, each working through things to find happiness again. Are they able to find a way back to each other? Is it possible to move on from past hurts?
I enjoyed this whole series. Can't identify with the wealth but the feelings fears and desires yes. If that had happened to me I would have closed of as well and mourned for years. My mother lost a 10 year old. I never knew her but she never allowed herself to mourn just buried those feelings and they haunted her for years. I do not think she was ever truly happy again. She this story really speaks to me
I love this story. What an emotional rollercoaster. I have to say what a great ending to a fabulous series. I would say read the series in order to know the characters which you will love.
Had to binge the whole series! Loved all the characters and was glad to see the characters grow and mature along with all the story lines! Ms hayes you'd series is a hit!
Best love story.. finished the book and ready to re-read it. It’s for hopeless romantics like me, with just a little intrigue. Erin, it was worth the wait.
