there were Celts in my past as well. I picked up this book as I
enjoy those stories. Always drawn to them. This one is so well
written and the fact that she motioned the reincarnation that most
live out of the story about Celts. I was pleasantly surprised.
This is a story of love and rebirth and how Karma and reincarnation
gives us the chance to correct the sins of our pasts. This is the
story of Eochaid and the high preistes Rowen and h ...more
This was a great story and I can't wait for the next one.
This was an interesting and fast paced story. Definitely...a Good read! Looking forward to Book 2 and hoping to read more about the lives of The High Priestess and her beloved Warrior.
The story captured my interest from the beginning, the characters were compelling and well developed, and the relationships were believable. Rowan and Eochaid were quite the pair! I loved her fire and feistiness and he exude ...more
Don't let slow beginning make you stop! Later IT gets really well and its worth for sure reading IT!
We have 3 characters that we get to know from their POVs: Rowen a prisesses that is one of the last; Cadderic a previous lifes companion; Eoachid a worrior that has something in himself.
The story goupes around Rowen and Eoachid and its really enjoyable to get to know them, their reasons, past and what is going on on th ...more
I really liked this book.. The characters are well thought out. The author did a great job. The only thing I did not like, Is usually when you read something that is-- like historical (?) they use the language used at that time.. This author did not do that at all except for a few words.
Rowen is a High Priestess of an ancient religion in the highlands of Scotland. It is her responsibility to keep the villagers belief in the goddess strong, she looks after their health and wellbeing, trains apprentice priestesses and is well loved. She is also deeply in love with her soul mate, Caddaric, who is not part of this world but still in Avalon (their version of heaven), as High Priestess she is able to travel there in spirit to spend ...more
Truth be told, I wasn’t in love with Rowen right away. I thought she was just being difficult to be difficult. She was good with her people but when it came to be open, I felt her a bit cold. Yes, she has a past but I felt like her interactions with the male characters seemed one dimensional. It wasn’t until I was over halfway through the bo ...more
However, I found the mixing of past and present difficult to follow. Having read this type of thing in other books with no issue. I am not sure if it was the more formal language for the time period, or something as ...more
Basically keep reading and you'll get a good book. There was a lot of intricate back story and the setting up of the story. But like I said, once you've got that into your mind, then it does pick up.
A good book to read over a weekend. ...it can't b ...more
An intriguing tale mixing the legend of Avalon and the Celts with bits and pieces of history. It explores the concept of soul mates, though maybe not quite as one would expect. There's a few darker scenes that are relevant to the storyline and to the lessons being received at that time. But the overall message is love, in all its forms, is neverending.
