Gorgeous cover, by the way.

Just a couple of thoughts. The Duke is a gross, arrogant, rude pig for much of the story. I have a feeling this creation is much closer to real Duke's in Regency England than the fictional ones we read about. But as with all bad boys, there is something about him that is compelling. Not charming but compelling. Although alcohol and women (view spoiler

I really liked this story. The first chapters however bothered me as did the hero. I didn't like him at all. I almost quit the book but I am glad I didn't . This would actually be a five star book if not for the beginning, the overuse of the 'q' word (disgusting) and him taking her to a Cyprians ball. I expected her to be repulsed by it and disgusted that he took her there but she really wasn't. I was more offended than she. I didn't like that the room he took her to was one

This Duke can be Depraved with me anytime , *hot
A brilliant read and a great storyline to boot .
Yes it’s steamy , yes it has some bad language, but to be honest the story is so good it’s not an issue , and I don’t mind anyway , but you have been warned.
It’s a great story of love , betrayal and redemption. One that is just so good .
Any steam is totally part of the story , he’s depraved , it’s his way , but can Jacinda tame him , bring him back from the brink .
She’s there to find evide

This was a first time read by this author and I really don't know what to think. The H was practically mean to the heroine most of the book so I chalked it up to it being part of his character for the story and title of the book.

Did not really get into this but I trudged on to finish. A bit disappointed and will need to think about reading other novels by this author.

I felt so bad for Crispin Ashforth, Duke of Whitley. He was suffering from PTSD after witnessing all the horrors of the Napoleonic war in Spain. He has been sent home because his brother the Duke is dead and he is now the new Duke of Whitley. The things Crispin saw during the war and what he believes has happen to his best friend Morgan the Marquess of Stearle made me gag.

Jacinda Turnbow is a decipher working with her father to decode massages from France. She is forced by the Earl Kilros to be

Scarlett Scott is a new author to me and boy have I been missing out! I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. Duke of Depravity kept my attention from beginning to end and the characters were entirely fascinating. Alpha males are my favourite and Crispin makes a completely swoon worthy alpha male hero. Jacinda is a intelligent, witty and completely loyal heroine that you can’t help but love. This story had a fair amount of humour in it, the story is unpredictable and very steamy! Scarlett Scott has given us an aspect into the world of the Duke of Depravity’s life of darkness; and how he transformed himself with the help of caring and loving people. Crispin Ashforth never wanted to be a Duke, let alone have two little hellion sisters to look after. He was a solider surviving some of the bloodiest conflicts of the war with France, while losing his best friend. Crispin had been left for dead; when he came to, all he found of his friend was his bloody hand and signet ring. H ...more

Duke of Depravity is a highly charged love story with fantastic, passionate characters that held me spellbound until the end! This is one of my favorite storylines of the emotionally wounded hero who needs redemption in the worst way. Returning from the war and the awful experiences he had gone through, Crispen is determined to drown out his demons in whatever way he can. But what he finds is a governess he hires for his two sisters.
Jacinda is not all as she appears and has an agenda of her own.

Crispen Ashforth, Duke of Whitley has returned from war, but not recovered from it. He suffers a heavy dose of guilt and the nightmares that go with it. Drowning himself in the bottle doesn't seem to be helping.
Mrs Jacinda Turnbow helps her father with his work of decoding messages for the war office. Unfortunately she has been ordered to act as a governess to catch a spy.
Our hero is basically a good man, but he can't cope with returning to a normal life and looking after his two young sisters

The r is very little story as about eighty-five percent of the text is devoted to sexual thoughts and actions.

1 Stars. I can’t even with this book. I just… GAHH! This was disappointing. And look, I always feel kind of bad posting negative reviews. Because I am sure that Scarlett Scott is a delightful, wonderful, amazing human being who writes many a delightful book, and I don’t want to be a person who spreads hate or negativity, but I just have so many issues with this book.

So, right off the bat, we meet Jacinda. She is a widow of the war and lives with her father. Her father is an intelligent and succ

Sexy, but ridiculously rushed and contrived

This book is full of passion and deep emotion, but it fails to fully live up to that promise.

The writing is full of incomplete sentences and needless repetition. The characters were written well, the sexual tension was scorching, but it was all rushed.

I love a good Regency romance, but this had barely a toe settled in reality. From PTSD to marriage we barely cover two weeks. The villain comes out of nowhere with a hastily contrived motivation.

My first book by Scarlett. AMAZING!!!!
I absolutely loved it. The Duke of Depavity is broken and Jacinda brave and smart. Between them there is fire and passion. Its hot. The story builds its hard to put down. I found myself smiling in the witty parts and got anxious as it came to a close afraid to what was going plot to reveal its self and cried when it did. I didnt want the story to end. This is going to be one of my favorite books. Scarlett is an awesome storyteller!!! I want to read more of h

Too much, not enough.

Too many references to the hero’s excessive drinking, whoring and guilt coupled with too little development of a story beyond his obsessive desire to get into the knickers of the heroine who is herself, in a tight spot makes for a story that is just bloody boring.

Hot and humorous...

Crispin, the Duke of Whitley, is living a life of complete debauchery as a result of survivors guilt. He came back from the war, but his best friend did not. He does have the responsibility of his estates and more importantly, his two unruly younger sisters, who are still in the school room.
Jacinda is a young woman, newly widowed, as she lost her soldier husband to battle. She lives and assists her aging father in his work as a message decoder for the English government. As h

Love Depravity (spoilers)

Haven’t read a governess book in a while and enjoyed this one! Sexy and sizzling yet dealt with post war issues, ciphering, and falling in love when you are trying to prove your love interest’s guilt is hard. Especially when someone is forcing you to do it while threatening your “life”. Trust and loyalty are hard to find so Cin (or “Sin” loved that also) being able to trust her heart and head that Crispin was really who she thought he was, was a breath of fresh air. Look

I greatly enjoyed the storyline, characters, etc. in this book. It kept my attention throughout and even kept me awake reading "just one more chapter" ! The only thing I didn't care for was the use of some crude sexual terminology. The sex was tastefully done,I guess I'm just a little prudish went it comes to the vernacular used to describe body parts. However, as the plot progressed and the hero and heroine fell in love, the words were no longer used. I still greatly look forward to reading mor ...more

Not all is as it seems in this story. Crispin and Jacinda have an up and down story. He is dealing with a sort of PTSD and Jacinda is having to do something she truly dies not want to, but she has little choice. What makes this story even more eventful are the two hellions who are Crispin's sisters. This gives us some funny moments. We also have passion as well as intrigue which definitely bode well for a well balanced story. No need for me to summarize the plot when all the other reviews have d ...more

The title of this book states it all. The Duke is extremely depraved and not a sympathetic nor likable character. Crispin is wallowing in self loathing, self pity and is meeting his base needs. He has all but ignored his younger sisters, who have become a bit wild and unmanageable. Understanding that he must hire another governess for them, he advertises. What he doesn’t expect is Miss Jacinda Turnbow. She arrives under false pretenses, charms the sisters-and him. There is a betrayal, but by who ...more

All make a great story line. Crispin is devastated by the death of his best friend. Someone is set against making the Duke suffer and sets about proving Crispin is a traitor to his country and responsible for the death of his friend. He sends in a spy to prove the Dukes guilt. What he doesn't bet on is the attraction between Miss Turnbow and the Duke that can't be denied or contained. Excellent story by 1 of my authors. Thank you for another excellent story with I hope mo
